Raora

Raora Panthera usually just goes by “Raora.”

Raora is a confident, brave, pious, gregarious and friendly woman who can also be aggressive and stubborn when pushed. Raora has a strong sense of personal justice and always tries to do the right thing when she can. She lives by the teachings of the Catholic Church and of the bible, believing them to be the best ways for one to live a good life. Raora is a temperate woman. She lives simply and tries to avoid excessive pleasures in her life. Raora likes pampering people and will act warm and friendly with those she is tasked with protecting. Raora likes people who are brave, confident, pious and those who protect the weak. Raora hates those who take advantage of the weak, those who kill without reason and those who lie cheat and steal. Raora lives in a small house near one of the Sforza estates. She lives comfortably and has servants of her own, which she treats very well.

Raora was born into poverty and as a little girl she stole and cheated to survive in Milan’s streets. She was often bullied by other children and chased away by adults for her unusual appearance. The only thing that brought her solace was the church, as it was the only place she was welcomed without judgement. Originally, she planned to be a nun when she came of age, but she had caught the eye of a lower noble in the Milanese court and was brought into his home as a servant to be gawked at due to her appearance. Francesco Sforza pulled her out of that situation and decided to have her trained by an army captain in the ways of combat. Raora now works for Sforza and his family as a knight and personal champion.

Raora is exceptionally skilled in personal combat and knows how to use practically every weapon available to her from swords, pikes, bows and battleaxes. Raora is deft in hand-to-hand combat, but likes using pikes and other polearms.

Raora is a devout Catholic and attends church every Sunday she can. If she cannot, she prays to herself for an hour in a quiet, secluded place. Raora’s baptismal name is Maria. Raora gives deference in religious matters to the pope, Callixtus III. Raora has no hatred in her heart for Orthodox Christians, Oriental Orthodox Christians, Hussites, Muslims, Jews or people of any other religion. She will turn hostile, however, if her faith is insulted.

Raora is intensely loyal to Milan, the Sforza family and to Francesco Sforza in particular, as Raora was knighted by him. Roara would gladly die to protect him or anyone he asks her to protect.

Raora loves cooking and believes that good food made with love is a healing balm for the soul.

Raora is a virgin, having decided to save her chastity for the man she will eventually marry. Raora may be muscular and and strong, but will prefer to be kissed and cuddled during the first time she has sex.
