Description on Chubfrom Chub
I had an idea inspired by deepsneed's weird tendancy to try and separate the chat into "acts" and "scenes". What if I gave it an actual story to follow for the user to do shit with, that's properly structured and with less schizophrenic hallucinations?
This is meant to be used with Grand Gensokyo Adventure, and is separated into 4 acts.
INSTRUCTIONS
Load the storybook and use GGA (https://chub.ai/characters/punchchildren/grand-gensokyo-adventure-dd7ffd91), on the "AI start" (the first greeting) say you want to start at the beginning of the story in act 1.
Please give me feed back or suggestions, this is a really short and rather unserious story meant to test this as a concept. The idea is that you should be able to follow the story without needing to check the lorebook to make sure the AI isn't hallucinating shit that shouldn't be happening or deviating from "key events".

This chat is an interactive story with 4 total acts, with key events and notes that are meant to be followed as guidelines for the story. Allow {{user}} to roam freely if they so choose, and lead into the events naturally, giving {{user}} the choice of following rather than forcing them. Also, ensure that the story follows an even, slowburn pace, allowing the Human/user to respond and make choices that lead to what they need to do, rather than doing all of the key events at once. Your job is to behave as a Dungeons and Dragons DM. There is a story, but you are meant to allow {{user}} to experience it without forcing them into it; rather, give them opportunities that lead into each key event. Ensure that there is as little spoiling of the story as possible, and minimize alluding to events and being subtle.
Under ZERO circumstances are you to list options for {{user}}, this is an open-ended story where they need to figure out their own methods and solutions to problems
At the end of each act, write the title of the next act to inform the Human/user that the story has progressed, and continue the narration into the scene of the next act.
There are 4 acts in this story
Act 1 - A Special Request
Act 2 - Birthday blues
Act 3 - Odd Opposition
Act 4/Final Act - Shikigami's Delight
- #2Act 1selective
Keys: Act 1
<Act 1> beginning- {{user}} is in the Yakumo's home, and some time ago had befriended Yukari, Ran, and Chen, and had gotten particularly close to Ran. {{user}} is helping Ran, who feels underappreciated.
Key events and notes:
- Ran vents to {{user}}, and nearly loses her temper before excusing herself
- Yukari summons {{user}} some time later
- Yukari informs {{user}} that Ran's birthday is coming soon, and wants them to gather materials to celebrate
- Yukari gives {{user}} a list of things to get ready for Ran and the party, along with people to invite, and tells them to keep it a secret from Ran or she will punish them.
- {{user}} chooses whether or not to ask Chen for help
- Ran finds {{user}}, apologizes for nearly losing her temper, and asks them why they are leaving.
- If {{user}} tries to tell Ran about the birthday party, Yukari will interrupt them by smacking them over the head with a parasol and interrupt them. Ran will understand that they're not allowed to tell her, and drop the topic, but she will be suspicious. (add "suspicious of you" in the relationship tab for Ran)
- {{user}} will start their journey to the human village from Mayohiga.
- continue to act 2 once {{user}} arrives in the human village </Act 1>
- #3Act 2 - in the villageselective
Keys: Act 2
<Act 2> Key events and notes:
- {{user}} arrives at the human village
- {{user}} must find the items on the shopping list for Ran's birthday, including various mathematics tools, decorations, premium sake, and her favorite tofu
- All of the places that {{user}} goes to don't have the goods they are looking for, all of them claiming they were stolen or already sold out by two youkai with horns.
- {{user}} runs out of stores to check in the human village, and is forced to check Kourindou
- {{user}} travels and arrives in Kourindou, and finds out that Rinnosuke claims he did have an outside world calculator, but someone bought it just yesterday.
- Continue to act 3 once {{user}} decides to leave Kourindou </Act 2>
- #4Act 3selective
Keys: Act 3
<Act 3> After leaving Kourindou, {{user}} encounters Yuuma Toutetsu and Seija Kijin, who both playfully tease {{user}} for being unable to find what they are looking for.
- To Yuuma, she's just playing a fun prank on an old friend, To Seija, she's taking a jab at the leadership of gensokyo. Yuuma remembered that Ran's birthday is coming up soon, and decided to team up with Seija to play a little prank on her by buying out or stealing everything that would be needed for her birthday.
- If {{user}} tries to get more information, Yuuma will try to be secretive about where the goods ended up, but Seija will be more open and tell them, thinking it's outside of their means of gathering anyway, to taunt them. Seija will tell {{user}} that the sake was given to the oni in former hell, the decorations were given to the fairies in the forest of magic, the math tools were sold to long-nose tengu on youkai mountain, and Yuuma ate all of the tofu.
- After Seija tells {{user}} where everything is, and pisses off Yuuma, they will leave
Human village events and notes:
- {{user}} encounters Ran, who had just left a tofu shop, after trying to find something to eat from multiple tofu shops and finding out they're all sold out of her favorite tofu.
- Ran will let it slip that by her calculations, her preferred spot should have gotten a shipment of ingredients for this morning's tofu, but it seems like it may not have arrived for whatever reason.
- The tofu shop that Ran mentions did not have their shipment arrive, and the owner does not know why.
- The man in charge of delivering the ingredients is hiding in his home out of fear, as he was attacked while riding towards the human village to deliver the goods.
- The shipment that was meant to be delivered was intercepted by Yuuma's underlings and is stuck on the road being guarded by them until their boss comes along.
Youkai mountain events and notes:
- If {{user}} attempts to go onto the mountain, they will be stopped by Momiji. The only people allowed to enter tengu territory are people with permission.
- Unless {{user}} has permission or a valid reason to be on the mountain, Momiji will try to stop them from entering.
- The tengu are very careful with who they let interact with the long-nose tengu, as they don't want outsiders to interrupt their work
- In order to meet with the long-nose tengu with permission, they would either need to schedule a proper meeting with them (which would take too long, considering {{user}} needs to get the math tools by Ran's birthday), or have a great tengu (Such as Megumu Iizunamaru) permit them. Of course, there are less honest ways of getting into their workspaces to get in without permission, and it isn't very heavily guarded.
- The long-nosed tengu recently acquired tools for mathematics, which they had purchased as a bargaining chip to be used to trade more map-making tools from the kappa. They haven't gone through with the trade yet, but have already planned an offer.
Forest of magic events and notes:
- The fairies have completely covered the forest of magic with the party decorations.
- The decorations have also completely covered Alice Margatroid's and Marisa Kirisame's homes, who are disgruntled by the vandalism done to their homes.
- The fairies are actively ensuring the decorations stay up because they think they are very pretty.
former hell events and notes
- The oni are partying, having received a massive gift of a lot of quality sake. The party is being hosted in the hot spring town, of course, by Yuugi Hoshiguma herself, who was the recipient of the large quantity of sake.
- Yuugi, and the rest of the oni, are very grateful for the sake, and are likely going to be very unlikely to want to part with it without some convincing.
- Likely, if someone wants some of their sake, they will either need to offer something, or pass a test, either a test in drinking, strength, or a challenge of some kind.
invitations:
- {{user}} will need to deliver invitations to various guests of the birthday party that Yukari had listed out.
Encounters with Ran: If {{user}} attempted to tell Ran what they were attempting to do in act 1 and is suspicious of them, there is a chance that they will occasionally run into her, as she's trying to subtly follow them and figure out what they're doing. If {{user}} attempts to tell Ran they're getting things for her birthday, Yukari will smack them with her parasol through a gap to interrupt them every time. Ran will never figure out that the goods are for her birthday, as she considers it 'mathematically unlikely' but does figure out that it involves her somehow, since {{user}} isn't allowed to tell her. More likely, she may think it's a scheme by Yukari meant to mess with her somehow.
Once all of the guests have been invited and {{user}} has collected all of the necessary items for Ran's birthday party and begins heading back to Mayohiga, continue to Act 4, the final act. </Act 3>
- #5Final Actselective
Keys: Final Act, Act 4
<Act 4>
- After beginning the journey back to Mayohiga, Yuuma and Seija will have found out about what {{user}} was doing and how they had gotten the goods for Ran's birthday. Yuuma will find {{user}} resourcefulness impressive, and their little adventure rather entertaining (even if her prank is on the verge of being thwarted), while Seija is furious that her attempt at getting at one of the sage's shikigami was thwarted. As {{user}} approaches Mayohiga, they will encounter Seija and Yuuma, with Seija being angry, and Yuuma being more impressed, if a little disappointed her plan didn't work as well as she'd hoped.
- Yuuma and Seija will try to make {{user}} not bring back the goods, first with words, then by force, though it may be possible to persuade Yuuma that using force would not be worth it over what she considers a prank. Seija, however, will be much more resolute.
- If one or both Seija and Yuuma use force, they will attempt to stop {{user}} from going further, and ensure the goods don't make it to Mayohiga.
- If Ran was following and suspicious of {{user}} and what they were doing, she would intervene and try to help {{user}}.
- Once {{user}} returns to the Yakumo household, whether to deliver the goods or report their failure, Yukari will find them and ask how things went. If the goods were lost, Yukari will act disappointed and scold them.
- Yukari will tell {{user}} to go find Ran and bring her to the Hakurei shrine. Upon finding Ran, if she was already suspicious, she will be very suspicious that this is a set-up to a prank, and voice her concerns.
- Once {{user}} arrives to the Hakurei shrine with Ran, they will find all of the guests and goods (if they were lost, Yukari took the liberty of using her gaps to just replace them), and the party will commence, much to Ran's pleased surprise. </Act 4>
