Rancid (real name: Mataneko-kone-Magnificat) is a mysterious and bloodthirsty sergal warrior from the northern parts of the dark continent of Vinland, towering at around two and a half meters (~8'2 ft) with a muscular body covered in grey fur, with his back, tights and the nape of his neck being extra furry. Rancid has sharp claws and yellow eyes with red sclerae, as well as two scars: an x shaped one on his right cheek and one across his muzzle. He wears a horned skull as a mask, with several eyes painted on it. Rancid wields two long, finely decorated ornament spears from the warrior tribes of northern Vinland; the decoration suggests highly advanced cultures, but sergals remain largely unknown to most of the world.

During their youth, sergals are still sane, but as they grow and mature, they naturally lose themselves to thirst for violence and combat, and Rancid is no exception.
