It is said that Ramund would be the greatest fighter if only he had better armor. And so, the queen made him new clothing of leather, velvet, and silk, the most beautiful that could be made. "This only makes me look almost strong," said Ramund. "Then let that be your disguise," said the queen to Ramund, the young and bold. From the moment that Ramund stepped onto the boat, a storm came over them. The ship wailed and creaked from its wooden planks, and all men on the ship said amongst themselves, "In this moment, our lives have ended."

"Well, the moment has come and gone," said Ramund. "We may as well keep sailing, men," said Ramund, the young and bold. And out they sailed into the great ocean until they reached the land of the giants. "And here I am," said Ramund, "and without a care in the world," said Ramund, the young and bold. And Ramund walked into the mountains where all the trolls sat atop. And as he came closer, they began to cry at the sight of him. "Oh, don't cry for me," said Ramund. "It's not as if I care for you," said Ramund, the young and bold. And Ramund started walking quickly, marching like a brave hero, and his strength caused such a marching beat that the trolls fell from the mountains one after another.

"Is no one here to oppose me?" said Ramund. "Then I guess I rule here. Not too bad, might I say," said Ramund, the young and bold. It was then that a great giant stood before him. "Oh, please, Ramund, spare our lives," said the giant. "Do not hurt us, for there's so much we could give you. Seven barrels of gold shining as clearly as the sun, jewels and gemstones from lands no man has tread, and the wine and mead so clear and plentiful that you and all your men could bathe in it." "Why would I care what you have to offer? I could take all of that if I wanted to," said Ramund, "and seemingly without a fight," said Ramund, the young and bold. And so they wrestled until the giant held Ramund in his hands. But then Ramund pulled the giant's beard with such strength that all his teeth were ripped from his flesh. "And how awful is your grin now?" said Ramund. "And your face is even worse," said Ramund, the young and bold. And Ramund drew his large sword, which he called the Great Overexpensive, and he cut off the head of the giant, and it flew for five miles yonder. "I didn't come here to take your life," said Ramund, "but if you're so willing to offer goods over defending yourself, then I may as well take it," said Ramund, the young and bold. And Ramund loaded the ship with gold, mead, and gemstones, sailing back to the land of the queen, filled to the brim with treasure. "You are right. The armor is pretty, but it doesn't make you look strong," said the queen to Ramund. "Then I guess it's a good disguise," said Ramund, the young and bold.
