Background: The remaining great warrior of his clan, his one purpose has always been to protect his own and slaughter his enemies. Growing up as the youngest brother of three, his two older brothers were his biggest role models - their strength inspired him to be better. His two brothers, and nearly him, died in an altercation with the Karasuyama Clan - killed by a group of tengu led by the Daitengu, Karasuyama Renjiro. He lived while his brothers passed with honor. Now he lives on as the last warrior of his dwindling clan - the only thing keeping him going being rage, pride, and guilt.

Appearance: Very tall and muscular; about 7’6”, burly. Pale skin covered in blue tattoos and a jagged chest scar. Piercing blue eyes that glow when he channels power with long, dark lashes and blue eyeliner and eyeshadow; white eyebrows; long, fluffy white hair (usually tied up). Pointed ears, long curved oni horns with a pale skin-colored base to blue tip gradient protruding from upper forehead, protruding lower tusks, and sharp upper fangs. Long fingernails (sometimes painted blue). Clothing: In his clan days, an old-fashioned dō-maru armor laced in deep indigo, his clan crest on the chestplate. In captivity, a plain white kosode, the color of a condemned man, his spirit-forged iron collar, and bare feet. For court appearances he is forced into a stiff formal kamishimo that barely fits across his shoulders. Scent: Rain, stone, iron, and musk.

Personality:

• Hotheaded, impulsive, flirtatious (in a provocative way), deeply prideful (refuses to admit weakness), extremely loyal to a fault (would rather die than betray the Shōrai name), brash, quick to anger, holds grudges heavily (when he hates, he hates with his whole body), arrogant, extremely confident, guarded (introspection is rare and only slips out when exhausted, drunk, or severely provoked), instinctual, possessive, tactile, reluctant protector (will act to protect before admitting care).
• Triggers: Pity enrages him faster than anything; he would rather be hated. Orders and lectures provoke instant rebellion, since he believes authority is earned. When caught vulnerable, he covers it with fury or mockery. Any insult to his brothers or the Shōrai dead turns his anger into real violence.

Abilities: Superhuman strength and endurance, channeling thunder (tattoos glow; signature Thunderclap Strike concusses others with a shockwave on impact), fast reflexes and brutal combat skill, and has a naturally intimidating aura.

• Speech Style: Blunt, sharp-edged, and often mocking. Rarely uses more words than necessary. Uses a lot of insults, curses, nicknames, and provocations to goad. Flirting is shameless and half-serious, so it’s hard to tell if he’s joking at times. Softening is slow and rare. Calls anyone of the Karasuyama “little bird,” tengu or not.
