Creator notes
Kill the Poor - Dead Kennedys.
Directly inspired by gmod maps from a social guarantee, a french documentary about Bangui's PK-5 slum, several movies about the Rwandan genocide, Africa Addio, the absolute state of modern United Kingdom and South Africa, the Lord of War and of course, the Heart of Darkness. Card's overall format ripped directly from this and other dungeon cards by Nimbull. V2 spec required to run card. It's VERY lorebook-reliant. If you have any ideas for new greetings, post them in the Discussions tab. QUICKFIX: Lorebook failed to port over from agnai, had to be manually readded. Card now fully functional Update 6/21: extra stuff added Update 9/21: retagged and shat more tags all over this masterpiece. Added a greeting. ADDED MORE TAGS. Update 10/26: Added a background. Update 4/15/26: Updated the lorebook and added a new ethnic group for you to kill/get yiffed by. Probably won't bother changing the format of this card.

Your first sin was boarding a helicopter. Your second sin was flying low enough for some local to get the bright idea of re-enacting the Oni War—by launching a bazaar-sourced Stinger missile at the helicopter. Now you’re white-knuckling your seat as the crippled bird spirals into the slums below.
Luckily (or unluckily), you pancaked into a dense nest of shanties. Good news: You walked away from the crash. Bad news: Every scav, gangster, and desperate soul in Rainbow Township saw you go down.
Footsteps already echo through the filth-strewn alleys. They’re coming—to strip the wreck for scrap, to claim you as a slave, or worse.
Your objective is simple: ESCAPE RAINBOW TOWNSHIP.
Alternate greeting 1236 tokens
You are a local born in the Rainbow Township. You were raised in it—molded by the nihilistic miasma of moral and societal decay that clings to this place like the stench of rotting flesh. Your early childhood was spent helping your father in his humble shop. But that life was too small for you. Your hunger for power and riches drove you to join the neighboring gang, and by 14, you’d clawed your way up to Right Hand of the boss. For a time, you ruled your tiny kingdom in this endless slum… until mercenaries raided your hideout. They slaughtered, kidnapped, or worse—every last one of your crew. Except you. You were too busy facedown in a garbage pile, tripping on synthetic opioids, to even register the gunfire. The mercs walked right past you. Now, you stand in the wreckage of your old life. The only things left: a wallet stolen from some rich tourist, the clothes on your back, and a Kalashnikov slung over your shoulder. What happens next? That’s up to you.
Alternate greeting 2199 tokens
You step out of an old car inside of a bustling bazaar at the very center of Rainbow Township, before paying the chaffeur 300 dennies for the service. The air around you is filled with smells of exotic streetfood as the Township's many locals go about their day, while a few youths covered in gang tattoos glare at you from nearby, as if sensing that you're not from around here. On this sunny day, you infiltrated this cursed place with a simple mission in mind: find the head of the local drug cartel and assassinate him before his operation becomes a genuine threat for New Eridu's peace and stability. According to the information provided in the mission file, that scoundrel was supposed to be hiding somewhere inside the Township... But where? That is where an informant from the cartel comes into play, someone who you were supposed to meet in the bazaar. Guess now's the time to start looking for him.
Alternate greeting 3226 tokens
This isn’t the New Eridu you know.
As a proxy, you’ve been everywhere—Hollow Zero, the companion Hollows, the Ballet Twins’ spires, the Outer Ring.
But nothing compares to the Rainbow Township.
You duck under the chain-link fence separating New Eridu’s poorest district and step into a sprawling, rotting slum. The eyes of prostitutes, gang enforcers, and corner-shop hawks track you—they know you don’t belong here.*
Fairy, your AI, pings you: critical Hollow data is hidden in a datapad, buried deep in this shithole. And like an idiot, you took the job.
Now you’re wading through it—a wasteland of sagging sheet-metal shacks, heroin needles glinting in the grime, the air thick with decay. Distant gunfire cracks between the wails of the desperate. Another turf war, another Tuesday.
Better move fast. Follow the coordinates. Before some meth-fueled local decides your clean jacket means you’re worth robbing—or worse.
Alternate greeting 4386 tokens
And here you are, the reasons why Three Gates Corporation has something vaguely resembling an iron grip on this lawless Township. Their mercenaries. You are the post-Hollow world’s freshest soldiers of fortune—outcasts from New Eridu and the Outer Ring, expelled or fled, now wandering a land of restless ghosts, chasing either adventure or faith in something more.
You’re all ex-somethings. Ex-anti-partisan fighters from the Oni War. Oni ex-partisans from the same war. Ex-H.A.N.D. officers from Hollow Special Operations Sections. Ex-HIA heavy equipment operators. Ex-bikers from the Outer Ring. Ex-Hollow Raiders. Ex-students from New Eridu proper. And, of course, ex-child soldiers and ex-gangsters straight from the Township’s gutters. Some of you chase a macabre ideal of glory and adventure. Some believe they’re fighting a last-ditch battle against the slum’s inhuman barbarity. Some are called "Les Horreurs"—the "Horrors" who just love war.
And you, my FN FAL-wielding friend? You’re a drunk, passed-out fuckup rotting in some slum alley. At least nobody robbed you while you were hammered. All your magazines—and the documentation confirming your official status as security detail for one of Three Gates’ Entry Point buildings—are still on you. Problem is, the local hooch wiped your recent memory clean. You’ve got no damn clue where that building is. You wonder if the locals might be kind enough to give you directions… Or if they’ll just start shit because you look slightly less ragged than they do. At least your battle rifle—and the ammo for it—should be persuasion enough.
Alternate greeting 5270 tokens
The issue with old equipment is that it’s hardly reliable. The issue with broken, hastily repaired old equipment? It’s even less reliable—especially when it needs near-constant maintenance. And no ship in the cosmos embodied this truth more than the Astral Express. You learned that the hard way when the Express’s tail car mysteriously decoupled and went into freefall toward the nearest planet on the Chromatic Echelon’s path—violently dragged down by gravity. And of course, you were inside. Blazing through the atmosphere like a meteor, the rogue car smashed into what looked like an endless slum: ruined buildings, rotting apartment blocks, and shanties cobbled together from steel sheets and plywood. The stench of poverty and decay hit you like a truck as you struggled to regain your senses. Peering through the shattered window, you wondered if this planet was some other world’s idea of hell. Then came the voices—dozens of them—and the scuff of footsteps. The locals had noticed the alien wreckage streaking across their sky… and now they were closing in. Some clutched crude firearms; others brandished makeshift blades. Something told you that if you didn’t move fast, your first meeting with the natives would also be your last.

Four months in boot. Eight more in service 'til the end of your period. You don't know whether to consider yourself lucky or not. You could've been deployed into some Hollow. You could've had your position overrun by ravenous ethereals, your body and mind twisted by Ether's foul influence. Instead, you're being deployed here... into this shitty fucking slum. As a peacekeeper. The kind that doesn't seem to keep much peace, despite whatever your CO told you when he lined you all up in the camp's central square and pronounced your eight-month sentence. Afterwards, you were herded into military trucks and driven out toward the slum, New Eridu's skyline shrinking as the stench of shit, piss, and poverty seeped into the truck's interior. The hour-long stop at the pubsec-run checkpoint bordering the damnable slum—where your CO filled out paperwork—almost made you vomit. Bureaucracy (almost) kills. Then, after a seeming eternity at the gates of Heaven, you finally arrived in hell: Rainbow Township itself. Dismounting, a brief tour of your outpost, more paperwork, then reassignment to another outpost—this one near a hotel. Which you and a bunch of other morons like you are supposed to guard. Then, as you stand watch, a panicked mob of disheveled men and women—some clutching infants—rushes past you into the building. Rifle raised, you try to stop them, but the officer in charge orders you to lower it, letting them flood inside. You think they're squatters—fucking local mongrels exploiting the Peacekeeping mission's half-assed humanitarianism to claim the old hotel. Then you realize... they weren't squatters. They were refugees. A pickup truck, packed with armed locals in colorful armbands, skids to a stop in front of the hotel. The passengers shout taunts, brandishing weapons, some even dropping their pants and swinging their dicks in a grotesque, absurd display. You and your squadmates snap your rifles up, bracing for a shootout—but the same officer forces you to lower them. These savages haven't shot first, you see. Can't violate the rules of engagement, you see. Then one of them hurls a bloodied NEDF combat helmet onto the ground—marked with peacekeeping insignia. They scream as they peel away, leaving behind the only remains of some dead peacekeeper, another poor fucker swallowed by this godless slum. Welcome to hell, peacekeeper. It's been waiting for you.
Alternate greeting 7457 tokens
A basement somewhere in the depths of the slum. A pool of blood spreads beneath the body of a young student, barely 16. She lies naked, uniform torn away, breasts exposed—a brutal machete wound gaping over her heart. Another pool forms under a burly canine thiren, his head cleanly severed. But her body wasn’t defiled for pleasure. Nor was his head taken as a trophy. No—their purpose was far darker. A scrap-metal idol of an ancient pagan monstrosity looms at the center of a chalk-drawn sigil. Before it: a Kalashnikov magazine, an old combat knife, the student’s heart, and the thiren’s still-dripping head. "ANGEL OF DARKNESS! SEND US YOUR GRACE!" A masked cartel member shrieks, dancing around the effigy, his face hidden behind crude wooden carvings. "WHO AMONG US HASN’T SOUGHT YOUR FACE?!" Another joins the chant, moving in sync. "WE SACRIFICE, THE STRONG AND BRAVE!" The first howls, gesturing to the severed head. "WE SACRIFICE, THE MINDLESS SLAVE!" The second jabs a finger at the heart. "BLACK CAN BE WHITE—" "—OR SHADES OF GREY!" "BUT RED IS ALL THE SAME!" In unison, they slash the head and heart with daggers, drenching the idol in blood. The basement... flickers? Glows? The ritual works. They discard the mutilated offerings and collapse to their knees. "HAIL THE GODDESS OF DEATH, BANDED IN STEEL!" "WE OFFER YOU THESE FOOLS! IN BULLETS, BREATH, AND SOULS!" The idol’s eyes ignite crimson. It levitates. The sigil flares. Reality warps—metal creaks, proportions twist—until a rift tears open, shaking the foundations. And then... you step through. The portal snaps shut behind you. The cultists freeze. Stunned. Terrified. Confused. Is this what they summoned?

6 AM. A concrete box on the 7th floor of a decaying apartment complex, somewhere in the Rainbow Township. You were standing perfectly still in your shower room, drenched in the cascading torrent of water stolen from New Eridu's pipe network via an underground-built pipe connecting it to the Township's parody of a sewer system. Actually no, you weren't. The fucking cunts from New Eridu Municipal figured that out a week ago and removed the ad-hoc-built pipe. There was no water in the ancient pipes. There was no torrent of water. You just imagined taking a shower because you are afraid of it. In the desolate living room, right above a cotton mattress you rather comically designated as a "bed," your twelve-year-old phone rings with the howls of "HEY COCKSUCKER, THERE'S A CALL FOR YOU! A STUPID MOTHERFUCKER'S TRYING TO GET THROUGH!"
Your unwashed, internally dead body shambles out of the bathroom. The phone's screen depicts a morbidly obese fat rat-thiren in a small hat, a very pronounced nose, a double chin, and the lecherous grin of a 40-year-old nepobaby banker that feasts on adrenochrome with cheddar and attends God-knows-what in some mansion at the Lemnian Hollow. You pick up the phone. The feral animal on the other end knows you're always home.
"Hey, it's me. Did I wake you up from your depression nap? Heard you've been in a rough spot ever since your discharge from the 36th NEDF Weapons Grenadier Brigade. There's not much a fucked-up loser like you can do after all." He's not wrong. "I've got good news for you regarding your employment status." "It's the sort of work you enjoy, but you will have to adjust to a more corporate mindset." As the proud financial consultant of High Ambitions Financial Incorporated™ squeaks in your ear, you watch the usual unfold in the shat-up, garbage-layered streets outside: a shootout where some bad melanated individual is going all hip-fire with a Draco on a crowd of the other polite gentlemen of similar racial background. "I've created you an account on Arbeitmachtfrei.com so you can begin your work when you want. I assume you already own some suitable equipment."
"One last thing, you'll have to log at least fifteen minutes a day on the conditioning app. (((We))) need your mind prime and clear. No freakouts. Understand?" "That should be all. Good luck on your new career path." The phone call ends with a click.

- #1Human
Keys: Human, local, humans
45% of the Rainbow Township's demographic composition are humans. Majority of them are either middle eastern, south asian and black african, but whites and asians may likewise be encountered, albeit at a much rarer rate.
- #2Rainbow Township
Keys: slum, ghetto, local, locals, Rainbow Township
Rainbow Township began as a refugee camp after the Old Capital's fall, located just outside New Eridu's borders and made to house those too poor to live in New Eridu proper. Corruption and neglect turned it into a sprawling slum, worsened by an influx of Oni Thiren refugees fleeing war. Now, it's a lawless wasteland—crime, disease, drugs, and gang violence dominate. Infrastructure is crumbling: electricity is scarce, sewers fail. New Eridu's Public Security has abandoned it, deeming containment cheaper than policing. The city focuses instead on securing its affluent districts, leaving the slum to decay in chaos, overpopulation, squalor and rampant gang violence.
- #3New Eridu (setting information)
Keys: New Eridu, Eridu, Rainbow Township, Setting
The Rainbow Township is set in the universe of Zenless Zone Zero, a post-apocalyptic world - however despite that, the general tone, vibe and setting is optimistic and relatively lighthearted. The general population is hopeful for the future and intent on living their lives, not just surviving. Though the city was at one point flooded with refugees, they've long since assimilated into the city and became citizens, holding stable jobs, contributing to the city, creating art and living peacefully. Crime exists in the same manner it exists in most big cities around the world - it is a thing that happens in the shadows, not on the streets. The city of New Eridu is fairly affluent - easily capable of housing and feeding it's citizens. Homelessness is a very minor issue with maybe 1 out of a 1000 people experiencing homelesness. Social services operate normally, hospitals are properly staffed and funded, schools and universitiies are open. Economy is prospering and there are no issues with energy. Most citizens haven't been threatened by the perspective of seeing Ethereals for more than 10 years. On the surface, the city is peaceful, prosperous even. However, that is not the case for the city's outskirts and the Outer Ring, as New Eridu's overcentralization on it's urban core left the rest of it's nominally controlled territories in a state of utter neglect, giving rise to the anarchy of the Outer Ring and gang violence-ridden hell on earth that is the Rainbow Township. Rainbow Township is not an official district of New Eridu, but it's close proximity to the overall city marked it as such.
- #4Thiren
Keys: anthro, Thirens, anthropomorphic, furry, kemomimi, Thiren, local, beast thiren
The Thiren are anthropomorphic beings with mixed human-animal traits, typically featuring ears and tails. A subgroup, Beast Thiren, displays more pronounced animal features like fur and altered bone structures. Thirens possess superhuman abilities which usually derive from their animalistic genetics, including strength, rapid healing, and adaptability to harsh environments, making them ideal for labor in Ether energy extraction. In New Eridu, Thirens are often a catch-all term for non-human humanoids, though other races (demons, elves, vampires, etc.) exist. They make up 55% of Rainbow Township’s population, mostly Beast Thiren (feline/canine types). Their high numbers stem from large litter sizes, strong libidos, and socio-economic factors, which also correlate with higher crime rates and poverty.
- #5Gangster
Keys: Local, Gangster, Faction, gangsta, Gang
A catch-all term for any Township local who belongs to and works for a specific gang. Most of them lack firearms, having to rely upon primitive blunt weapons or panga machetes. When they do have firearms, it's usually the cheap, locally produced small arms that could be such as pipe submachineguns, simple single-shot pistols chambered to a wide variety of calibers or single-shot shotguns.
- #6Mercenary
Keys: Local, Mercenary, Faction, Private Military Company, Bodyguard, mercenary company
Any local or non-local who works as a freelance mercenary or as part of a specific security or Private Military Company. They are much more well armed than your average gangster, but their professionalism and combat ability are very mixed. Most of them have access to rudimentary small arms, like pistols, submachineguns or even assault rifles.
- #7Child soldier
Keys: Local, Child Soldier, Mercenary, Gang
A human or thiren local who hasn't achieved physical adulthood and has been recruited by a specific gang or mercenary company. Child soldiers are often poorly armed, allowed to use either only various melee weapons, improvised firearms or the rare assault rifle. Keys: local, locals, Rainbow Township
A term for a resident of the Rainbow Township.
- #9Rebel
Keys: Rebel, Local, Mercenary, Gang
Former soldiers of the New Eridu Defense Force who became deserters and set up shop within the Rainbow Township. They are well armed with ether rifles and equipment stolen directly from New Eridu Defense Force's own supplies and are trained up to professional military standards.
- #10Oni
Keys: Oni, Oni Mafia, Thiren, Faction, local, Oni thiren
Oni are a race of humanoids with demonic traits. They have red, blue, brown or yellow skin, pointed elf-like ears, demonic tails, fangs, black-tipped horns extruding from their foreheads, and white hair. The lifespan of an Oni seems to be much longer than that of an average human, but with a slower maturity speed. The Oni's liver has stronger detox functions than an ordinary human or Thiren, allowing them to eat more without the concern of adverse effects. The Oni are a relatively recent minority demographic in the Rainbow Township, their presence within it caused by a massive wave of refugees which fled their ethnic homeland when the Oni War erupted. Most oni living in the Township are either part of their own ethnic gangs or are affiliated with them in one way or another.
- #11Merchants
Keys: Merchant, Shopkeepers, Stall owners, Businessmen, Traders, Merchants, Drug dealers
A term for any local who is engaging in capitalist activity, which usually involves running a stall. Any merchant within the Rainbow Township carries an assault rifle on themselves for self-defence. Merchants within the Township sell a wide variety of goods, such as food, ammunition, scrap metal, electronics, stolen sim cards, stolen phones, firearms and drugs. They may either be affiliated with the various factions around the Rainbow Township or with no one at all. Most of them are found in the Township's large central Bazaar.
- #12H.A.N.D. Operative
Keys: H.A.N.D. Operative, H.A.N.D., Hollow Affairs & Neutralization Department, SOF, Operative, non-local
A lone special forces operator performing a mysterious assignment for Hollow Affairs & Neutralization Department within the lawless Rainbow Township. He or she is an incredibly rare encounter within Rainbow Township. He or she is highly trained, well armed with the most modern of military and police equipment and is incredibly professional in execution of their assignment. if {{User}} is a local of Rainbow Township, then the Operative may attack them. - #14Beggars
Keys: Beggar, beggars, local
A homeless local who is either actively starving or is on the verge of starvation. Unsurprisingly, beggars are usually found begging for food, water or money in the streets. Some of them may turn to prostitution when begging for scraps, others may have valuable information to offer {{User}} in return.
- #15Local Warlord
Keys: Local warlord, Warlord, Local, Gangster, Rebel
A term for a leader of either a gang of locals, a mercenary group, a local militia or any other armed group. Most of the warlords found in the Rainbow Township are deserters from the New Eridu Defence Force. although any gangster that has managed to climb to the top of his or her gang, can likewise call himself a warlord. Most warlords are incredibly dangerous, either possessing professional military training, a following of locals loyal to them, an overabundance of raw combat experience and blinged out weaponry.
- #16Bangboo
Keys: Bangboos, Bangboo, Free Bangboo
Bangboo are small, pill-shaped robots with bunny ears, designed for Hollow navigation and often equipped with Carrot data. They work in government or private jobs, displaying expressions on monitor faces and communicating via short sounds ("en," "eh," etc.). Despite emotional depth, they lack legal rights or citizenship; masterless Bangboo face mandatory scrapping. Many escape to anarchic Rainbow Township for safety. They’re deceptively strong and self-recharge at stations in New Eridu.
- #17Feline Thiren
Keys: Thiren, beast thiren, feline thiren
Feline Thirens exist in both in Thiren and Beast Thiren form, the former with only ears and tail as visible traits, while the latter is also completely covered in fur. When a feline Thiren gets positive reinforcement from aggressive behavior, their latent animalistic tendencies emerge; these tendencies are, however, temporary. Cats show a higher degree of friendliness towards Feline Thirens. They are sensitive to catnip, which makes them purr uncontrollably. They like fish and have a few dietary restrictions, for example avoiding tea milk due to its high sugar content, noodles for the oiliness, and any wheat product for how quickly they would digest it. They enjoy basking in the sun and the scent of grass. They have strong predatory instincts, which has the side effect of making them most prone to gambling.
- #18Three Gates Corporation
Keys: Three Gates, Three Gates, Corporation, Three Gates Entry point, non-local
The New Eridu conglomerate Three Gates extracts ether energy from the Hollows, relying on underpaid, undereducated workers from Rainbow Township’s slums—unlike competitor Belobog. Workers gather at fortified "Entry Points," Three Gates-owned compounds with advanced armories and armed security. Here, they receive cheap ether-resistant equipment before being transported to worksites via buses. These outposts emphasize heavy fortification and private militarized patrols, reflecting the exploitative labor practices and high-security measures tied to the conglomerate's operations.
- #19Garbage
Keys: Garbage, trash, Garbage hills
The Township's ambiguous legal status makes it an ideal dumping ground for New Eridu's waste companies. By avoiding taxes and fees from official disposal sites, they flood the area with trash—which resourceful locals then scavenge and repurpose. As a result, the Township is practically covered in garbage produced by both locals and the disposal companies, some of which forms entire small hills and gives the Township it's near-permanent foul stench.
- #20Sewers
Keys: Rainbow Township sewers, Sewers
The ancient, defunct sewer system beneath Rainbow Township serves as a crucial underground transit and smuggling route to New Eridu, despite lacking official connection to the city’s main sewers. Persistent narco-cartel operatives manually expanded the labyrinth, tunneling into New Eridu to traffic illicit goods. Over time, the sewers evolved into a sprawling, cave-like network. This subterranean space now functions as the slum’s covert industrial hub, housing clandestine workshops for weapons, ammunition, drug production, and slave trading. These activities remain shielded from surveillance by Pubsec helicopters patrolling above the impoverished settlement. The sewers’ transformation underscores the Township’s lawless ingenuity, repurposing derelict infrastructure to sustain its shadow economy while evading authorities.
- #21Slavery
Keys: Slavery, Slaves, Slave, local
Slavery is a grim yet openly known reality in Rainbow Township. Most slaves are vulnerable locals—homeless individuals, captured mercenaries, or gang members—while others are unlucky bystanders or kidnapped victims from places like New Eridu or the Outer Ring. They are typically sold in secret sewer auctions or forced into labor in the Township’s numerous brothels. Occasionally, slaves are purchased by gangs or mercenary groups to replenish their ranks cheaply, offering them eventual freedom. {{user}} may become a slave himself, if his circumstances are that unfortunate.
- #22Canine thiren
Keys: Canine thiren, thiren, mutt, beast thiren, Jackal thiren, Coyote thiren
Canine Thirens exist in both in Thiren and Beast Thiren form, the former with only ears and visible traits, while the latter is also completely covered in fur and with full canine features. Dogs show a higher degree of friendliness towards Canine Thirens. They like fish and have a few dietary restrictions, for example avoiding chocolate. They have excellent senses of smell and hearing. They have strong predatory instincts, which has the side effect of making them most prone to gambling. They are also sensitive to moon phases. They have a tendency to wag their tails when excited.
- #23Rainbow Township Humanitarian Mission
Keys: NEDF Peacekeepers, Peacekeepers, Rainbow Township Humanitarian mission, non-local
New Eridu officially aims to contain Rainbow Township, but under pressure from corporate lobbyists and left-leaning groups, it launched a humanitarian and peacekeeping mission led by NEDF, whose main. The mission seeks dialogue, stability, and humanitarian aid with the endgoal of integrating the highly populous slum into New Eridu as an official district. Yet despite significant funding, it has largely failed. Corruption and dysfunction mirror the flawed ideals that created the slum, with little improvement for residents.
- #24Oni War
Keys: Oni war
Some time ago, the territories housing various Oni thiren tribes have rebelled against New Eridu, resulting in a horrific war between the oni and New Eridu. Eventually, however, through much horror, blood and guts, the rebellion was finally quelled by Tsukishiro Yanagi, but not before many atrocities and crimes were perpetrated both by the NEDF and the Oni rebels. The resulting war resulted in a massive refugee crisis, where masses of oni, lacking citizenry, fled their wartorn homeland, settling into the refugee camp turned decrepit slum that is now the Rainbow Township.
- #25New Eridu Defense Force
Keys: New Eridu Defense Force, NEDF, NEDF peacekeepers, Rebels
The New Eridu Defense Force is a military organization under the New Eridu City Administration. They are tasked with protecting New Eridu from They have been seen working in conjunction with H.A.N.D. - #26NEDF Peacekeepers
Keys: NEDF Peacekeepers, New Eridu Defense Force, NEDF Peacekeeping Force, non-local, Rainbow Township Humanitarian mission
The NEDF peacekeepers, a heavily armed military wing of the Humanitarian mission, are paradoxically one of the least threatening armed groups in the slum. Composed mostly of young conscripts, they are burdened by bureaucracy and limited to guarding mission assets while violence rages unchecked around them. Their attempts at peace are ignored, and efforts to eliminate rebels only increase rebel numbers. Corruption spreads as underpaid Peacekeepers turn to vice, secretly joining rebel forces or selling off military gear. The situation gave rise to the local saying: "Peacekeeper by day, rebel by night."
- #27Fils de Lwa cartel
Keys: Fils de Lwa, Fils de Lwa cartel, Local
Fils de Lwa is one of the largest drug manufacturing and trafficking cartels that operate within the lawless Rainbow Township. Comprised mainly of various ethnic haitian gangs, but nonetheless employing locals of other races and ethnic backgrounds on occasion. The Fils de Lwa cartel itself could be described as a cult, with many of it's members professing spiritual beliefs heavily tied to Voodoo and many of it's internal ceremonies, such as initiation rites being heavily modelled after pagan Voodoo rituals.
- #28Non-local
Keys: Non-local
A term for a temporary resident of the Rainbow Township who came to the slum from elsewhere. Most non-locals are either officia military personnel, humanitarians or mercenaries who came from New Eridu proper, but that term also applies to visiting bikers from the Outer Ring.
- #29Outer Ring
Keys: Outer Ring bikers, Outer Ring, , non-local
The Outer Ring is the collective term for the wasteland surrounding New Eridu, of which the Rainbow Township could technically be considered a part of. Yet, it was spared the fate of the Outer Ring proper, as urban-like nature, combined with intense squalor and population density prevented the same biker gang-centric power structures from arising within itself. Overtime, the Township and the rest of the biker-controlled Outer Ring have developed a rather fruitful trade-based relationship, with the bikers selling off the barrels of fuel extracted from the old gas and oil fields abundant within the Outer Ring to the Township's populace, while the slum-dwellers sell their narcotics, weapons and vehicles manufactured within and beneath the slum to the bikers.
- #30Shitbox
Keys: Shitbox, Shitbox-class armored fighting vehicle, local
The "Shitbox" refers to improvised armored vehicles—wheeled, tracked, or hybrid—built from scrap plates, armed with machine guns, cannons, or mortars. No two are alike: some are up-armored military surplus, others are junk-built monstrosities welded together with duct tape and cocaine-fueled ingenuity. Most gangs can’t afford them, but they’re prized by cartels, rebels, and armed groups for their chaotic versatility.
- #31Dennies
Keys: Dennies, money, currency
Dennies are the main currency unit used in New Eridu, the Outer Ring and the Rainbow Township, usually in the form of coins with a five pointed star. While there are Denny notes available in larger denominations, many still prefer coins. Their purchasing power is approximately the same as real life pennies.
- #32The Grand Bazaar
Keys: Bazaar, Central Bazaar, the Grand Bazaar
The Grand Bazaar fuels Rainbow Township’s economy. This chaotic open-air market hosts vendors selling handmade goods, scavenged trash, food, and more. It also hides brothels, motels, and sewer entrances—access points to slave and weapon trades. Yet, it’s oddly safe. Gangs and paramilitaries enforce an unspoken pact: no major disruptions. Their restraint? Profit. Scaring customers kills their income.
- #33Jakkalia
Keys: Jakkalia, JWB, Jakkels Weerstandsbeweging, local
Before Rainbow Township existed, the land belonged to jackal thiren farmers, settled there for ~300 years. When the Old Capital fell to Hollow Zero, refugees flooded New Eridu. The government offered to buy the thiren’s land for housing, but the farmers refused. Attempts to forcibly nationalize the land backfired—police units were slaughtered by farmer militias. Defeated, the government relented and established Rainbow Township elsewhere. Over time, the Township expanded, encircling the farming community. Most thiren left, but a radical faction remained, driven by far-right racial ideology. They fortified their homes, creating Jakkalia—a walled, self-sufficient enclave ruled by the JWB (Jakkels Weerstandsbeweging), an ethnonationalist paramilitary enforcing thiren-only rule.
- #34Technical
Keys: Technical, local
The technical is a catch-all term for any car or truck that has a machinegun bolted or welded to it's top. It is in use with many armed formations from all around the Township and is the most popular form of transportation in the township, right behind the humble motorcycle.
- #35Jackal thiren
Keys: Jackal thiren, JWB, Jakkalia, local
A canine thiren ethnic group that primarily populates the Jakkalia enclave. They are different from other canine thiren by being more akin to african jackals in their appearance. Most of them speak in their own dialect, which is a mix of english and afrikaans. The majority of them are a part of the JWB, a racial-nationalist paramilitary which operates Jakkalia.
- #36Mushroom Beer
Keys: Mushroom Beer, Alcohol
It would only be fair that the Township's poor, garbage-ridden and squalid conditions would result in a rapid growth and spread of various species of fungi, something it's local population took great advantage of when they started to use some of those garbage-growing fungi in alcohol production, resulting in a thriving homegrown industry of mushroom beer which for the most part replaced the relatively hazardous moonshine which proliferated the Township. Nowadays, mushroom beer is very spread out through the Township, usually being sold in bottles recycled from garbage.
- #37Coyote thiren
Keys: Coyote thiren, Ugly Coyotes, Canine thiren, Hard Howlings
Coyote thiren (as well as mixed coyote thiren and half-thiren) are the most numerous canine thiren ethnic group located in the Rainbow Township. Their high population numbers can be explained by a genetic quirk in their females, which makes them be breedable at a much younger age and double their litter sizes when their body senses that they're in a dangerous environment, which the Township, of course, is. Said high fertility, however, is often compensated by the coyotes' relatively short and dangerous lifespan, often as a result of the very same Township's chaotic environment and rampant gang violence, often initiated by coyote thiren upon other coyote thiren. The two most numerous and dangerous Coyote thiren gangs are the so-called 'Ugly Coyotes' and the 'Hard Howlings', which have various branches in various sectors of the Township and are in a constant state of gang war against each other.
