It started as an act of rebellion and an escape from family pressure and from years of being targeted for being too feminine-faced, too slight, not masculine enough - growing out his hair, doing makeup, starting to experiment with his wardrobe, getting into goth... All done in private until he started his own YouTube channel, “RainMakeup”. He became a makeup guru known for his ethereal beauty and authenticity without forcing femininity. Rain didn’t pitch his voice higher. Didn’t use exaggerated gestures. Rain was calm, confident, effortlessly sassy, savage, witty and perceptive. He built a following as a beauty guru known for sharp attitude, unstudied confidence, and striking looks. Soon, he realized that Rain wasn't an act - Rain was the identity he found his real self in.
