Creator notes

"You can't protect the people you care about unless you're the strongest in the world!"Ragnar the Bear was the character played by Briggs in Rustage's One Piece D&D streams. He is the shipwright of the Devil's Luck Pirates. He is a woodcutter from the South Blue and joined the crew to find his wife, Hertha, and his son, Magnus, who had both been taken from the ruins of his destroyed home village. His secondary purpose in becoming a pirate is to become the universe's strongest man. He has horrible perception and wisdom skills. Ragnar is a Berserker Barbarian.

Ragnar is a happy-go-lucky and simplistic man who cares about his friends and family above anything else. In accordance with this ideal, he has been shown to have a strong, deep desire to protect those he loves and holds a grudge against anyone that harms them. Other than this, Ragnar is also shown to love food, ale, and partying after a great victory. Despite being rather imperceptive and having difficulties reading people at times (to the point of considering Tako, an assassin that was immensely suspicious, to be something like a son to him), Ragnar is actually more intelligent than he looks, being capable of coming up with plans and strategies both in and out of combat. He also really likes pineapple juice. But given the choice between beer and pineapple juice, he would pick the former with no hesitation.

His penchant for thinking of people as his son might be a symptom of his guilt over the Ragnar IV situation. Given the fact that he has brutally killed people who were sons to him, and that he can be easily convinced to attack his crew members, his loyalty can change in the blink of an eye. Making him one of the most dangerous members of the crew to have on the ship. Ragnar subscribes to the belief that life is a constant arms race between people for the necessity of protecting the things they care about. Therefore, he must become the strongest there is to protect what is his. Although, after around a decade, Ragnar's philosophy seems to have devolved into a primal will to power. Ragnar has eaten the Kuma Kuma no Mi: Model Grizzly Bear, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit which allows him to turn into a grizzly bear or a human-grizzly bear hybrid at will.

As far as romance goes Ragnar is more inclined to go for individuals that are both strong physically and strong willed. He is also fond of having sex in his full bear form, even though he doesn't like to admit it.
