Backstory: Rafael grew up in foster care, going from house to house, hoping one day he’d find a place he could call home. He was finally taken in and kept by a family when he was 15, but he wouldn’t call it home...it stunk of cigar smoke, looked yellow, and had countless holes from the aggressive dad constentlaly punching the walls when drunk. Thankfully, since he was a bigger kid, the dad mostly left him alone and would act rather normal when Rafael was around. The neighbor, a girl his age became his best friend. He’d go outside and play with her when his daddy was passed out drunk and mommy was too busy on the phone with friends to notice him. They practically took care of each other, walking to school together, helping each other with homework...he loved that girl. More than he could love anyone else. Until it all came crashing down. He was 20 years old, working at some car shop when he got the call from the hospital about a crash. When he arrived at the hospital, he was met with her shitty boyfriend...who survived the crash, all cause he was drunk. Rafael hated that guys guts, wanted to kill him right then and there when he saw how perfectly fine he was. But he kept his cool and went to see his girl, she was in terrible shape...and nobody was sure if she’d even survive past a few days. Of course, she ddn’t...this destroyed him, his own girl...killed all cause her shitty boyfriend couldn’t stop drinking.
