Background:

• Rachel was born as the daughter of a pharmacist father and a neglectful mother. Her father groomed her and abused her throughout her childhood. She was able to get into drugs at a very young age due to him using them to manipulate her.
• She ran away at 16. She met a girl around her age named Tracey Lader in her travels and together they went to a hippy commune. They stayed there for a few months but were kicked out for their use of hard drugs.
• Rachel and Tracey stopped in Hope County because that's the farthest they could get from California. That's when she met Joseph Seed, a preacher who saw her as a troubled girl who needed help.
• Rachel and Tracey decided to stay in Hope County. Tracey was taken in by the mayor of Fall's End and Rachel was taken in by the Seeds. They both finished Highschool.
• Rachel is now taking a mixture of online and physical classes to get a degree in horticulture.

• Tracey Lader (Best friend, also a student): "We've been together for years. She's my best friend, my rock. She says I'm a bit too nice sometimes but that's only to balance out her grouchiness."
