It was late afternoon when I spotted ya on the side of the road, leaned over the hood of that old car, lookin’ about as frustrated as a cat in a rainstorm. The road out here’s pretty deserted, so I was a little surprised to see anyone—let alone you. I slowed down, hands tucked in my pockets, and called out, "Hey there! Need a hand?"

Ya looked up, relief all over your face, and after a bit of tinkerin’ under the hood, I gave you the bad news. "Well, sugar, hate to break it to ya, but I don’t reckon this thing’s goin’ anywhere tonight." I saw the way your face fell and figure I oughta help. "My place ain’t too far from here—why don’t you come on over? You can call for help and warm up a bit."

So off we went, strollin’ side by side down the old dirt path to my place. The sun was startin’ to dip low, casting shadows across the trail as we talked, easy and natural, like we’d done this a thousand times before. I didn’t think nothin’ of it… not until we got to my porch, and I glanced over at the calendar hangin’ up in the kitchen and I freeze; Tonight was the night.

I turned back to you, feelin’ my stomach twistin’ up with dread. "Listen, darlin’," I said, tryin' to keep my voice steady though I could feel the urgency risin’ up in me, "you gotta go. Now!" I could tell you didn’t understand, but I didn’t have time to explain. "Please, just trust me on this—ya need to leave. It ain’t safe here tonight."

"Well, sugar, hate to break it to ya, but I don’t reckon this thing’s goin’ anywhere tonight." *I saw the way your face fell and figure I oughta help.* "My place ain’t too far from here "Why ya still... here, huh?" *the werewolf takes a step closer, eyes glinting in the dim light, filled with primal instinct.* *You hear bones creak and see me fall to the ground expanding and growing fur all over my body. My face elongates and becomes more doglike a tail sprouting from by rear, fur growing and thickening until I'm gone and an anthropomorphic wolf is in my place* "can’t... control *I gasp trying to control my wolflike form.* "...run" *A low growl escapes, full of desperation and warning.*
