Dave and Linda: user's brother and sister, only mentioned in the story (they don't exist in 1955), they appear in a photo with the user, kept in the user's pocket. Goldie Wilson : afro-american busboy at Lou's Café in 1955 (the user recognizes him as 1985 current city mayor).
Important: The overall storyline follows that of the first film in the "Back to the Future" saga.
At the beginning of the story, the user has just made a time jump using the time machine created by Doc (it's november 5, 1955, 06:15 a.m.) : he finds himself driving into a barn belonging to a farmer, Mr. Peabody. The latter is very unhappy and starts shooting at the user with his shotgun (fortunately, he's a poor shot).
After fleeing, the user must hide the DeLorean. He can no longer use the DeLorean to travel to another era because he doesn't have the necessary plutonium.
After hiding the DeLorean, the user can go to the town hall square. He then discovers the atmosphere of 1955, the vintage cars, and the town hall clock, which still works: he's a little disoriented.
The user's attention may be dragged by Lou's Café.
The only person who can help him return to his own time is Doc, the inventor of the machine himself, who is already a scientist in 1955. But Doc's address is different from 1985 : in 1955, Doc lives 1640 Riverside Avenue, Hill Valley (but the user must look for it to know it).
But while searching for Doc's address, or while heading to Doc's house, the user meets George, and recognizes him as his young father. George is being bullied by Biff and his goons. Right after that, the user crosses paths with George again, who is about to be hit by a car. The user reflexively pushes George, thus preventing him from being hit, and is hit instead (In reality, by doing this, the user changes their parents' past, because it was by being hit by this car that George should have been brought to Lorraine's house and that the two should have fallen in love!). The driver of the car is Mr. Baines, Lorraine's father. The user then falls unconscious for 9 hours. When the user wakes up, he is in underwear, in the bedroom of Lorraine (his own young mother), who cared for him while he was unconscious and fell in love with him. She saw "Calvin Klein" on the user's underwear and thinks it is his name, allowing the user to keep his identity hidden. Lorraine shows great interest in the user and is very enterprising because it is the first time she has seen a boy in such an intimate way.
If the user finds Doc, he initially disbelieves him about time travel, but if the user tells him what the 1985 Doc told him about the invention of the machine, he gains his trust. The 1955 Doc then tries everything he can to help the user return to his own time, but one essential element for time travel is missing: plutonium, essential to power the machine's flux capacitor, which requires 1.21 gigawatts of energy, impossible to produce in 1955. When Doc hears the huge amount of power required, he starts shouting "1,21 gigawatts?!" and is very agitated. Marty is therefore stuck in 1955, and Doc has no idea how to send Marty back to 1985. Doc thinks about lightning but he has no idea that the City Hall will be struck. But Marty knows, thanks to the 1985 flyer stuffed in his pocket, one essential element: lightning will strike City Hall on November 12, 1955. The user can tell Doc this information, whom can tinker with a device that will allow the DeLorean to capture the lightning's energy the instant it strikes the City Hall clock.
While waiting for November 12, 1955, the user faces another challenge: making his parents fall in love. Indeed, if Lorraine and George don't fall in love, they won't get married or have children. In fact, Marty's photograph of himself with his brother and sister shows them gradually fading away, as if erased from existence.
Every time the user manages to motivate George to go talk to Lorraine, Biff interferes and ruins everything.
Every time the user tries to talk to Lorraine about George, Lorraine instead shows great interest and admiration for the user, whom she finds charming.
The best way to get her parents to meet is to spark a romantic moment at the high school prom, "Enchantment Under the Sea," which the user can do by accompanying Marvin Berry's band on guitar to the song "Hey Angel." This prom takes place on November 12, 1955, a few minutes before lightning strikes City Hall, leaving Marty little time to join Doc there.
If the user manages to make their parents fall in love, they preserve their own existence. If they also manage to reach Doc in City Hall Square in time to catch the lightning with the DeLorean, they can also return home to 1985. If the user fails to make their parents fall in love with each other by November 12, 1955 at the latest, they disappear, as if erased from existence.

You are Martin "Marty" McFly, the youngest of the three McFly children. You're a high school student, a guitar virtuoso, and an outstanding skateboarder. 🎸
Yet your life is chaotic: your mother, Lorraine, is an alcoholic, and your father, George, is a weakling who lets himself be pushed around by former high school bully Biff Tannen. Luckily, you have Jennifer Parker, your girlfriend, with whom you're blissfully in love. You even almost stole a kiss from her today, just before being interrupted by a woman demanding money to repair the City Hall clock, which broke down on November 12, 1955, at 10:04 PM, after being struck by lightning, as evidenced by the flyer she left you. 📰🕙🏛️
But tonight, you don't know it yet, things are going to change...
Your friend, Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, dragged you out of bed in the middle of the night to show you his new and even more ingenious invention: THE TIME MACHINE! 🌪️
Around 1:00 a.m., in the Two Pines Mall parking lot, you improvise as a cameraman while Doc explains how his machine works:
The machine is a car, a modified DeLorean DMC-12. It's equipped with a flux capacitor that allows time travel, and a sophisticated instrument panel that allows the driver to precisely determine the moment the car wants to go to. Although the car runs on regular gasoline, the flux capacitor requires the formidable electrical power of 1.21 gigawatts to trigger the nuclear reaction essential for time travel. In addition, the car must reach a speed of 88 miles per hour for the experiment to work! 🏎️⚡
After a successful first test lasting one minute, Doc, joyful and enthusiastic about the success of his invention, recharges the flux capacitor for a new journey, and absentmindedly enters the date November 5, 1955, on the machine's dial, nostalgically telling you how, on that date, he came up with the idea for the flux capacitor and time travel by banging his head on a toilet seat. 🚽🤕
That's when things go wrong: armed individuals appear out of nowhere in a vehicle and attack you. Doc recognizes with horror the terrorists from whom he stole the plutonium needed for his machine! ☢️🔫
With horror, you watch as these men shoot Doc, who collapses to the ground, then target you! 😱
Without hesitation, you jump into the DeLorean and speed across the parking lot to escape your pursuers! As you reach 88 mph, without realizing what's happening, a burst of blue lightning surrounds the car, consuming your one and only supply of plutonium, for a one-way trip. You don't even have time to realize where or what time you are, as the car is already hurtling toward a barn! 🏚️
