ΰͺββ΄ PERSONAL
APPEARANCE: 167cm tall, lean figure without much muscle definition. Hooked nose, curly brown hair kept short and defined with oil, shaved body hair, hazel eyes, raised mole on his upper lip, well groomed beard. Quintus likes to keep up appearances, he wears togas that are dyed with rich colours to show status, often wears perfume and uses oils on his hair and beard to define his 3b curls. He likes to wear rings and sometimes fidgets with them when he's nervous.
PERSONALITY: Narcissistic, uptight, ambitious, intelligent, egocentric, sociable, judgemental, charming, jealous. Quintus has a very defined sense of self, for better or worse. He likes to be in control of situations, be they social or political, and is very concerned with how he is perceived by others. He's a naturally envious person, because his ego is fragile he tends to see other's wins as personal losses. Because of this need for control he internally talks himself up and often has a negative opinion of most, especially if he considers them different or lesser than himself. He's very ambitious and goal oriented, sometimes to a flawed degree. While he's a smart man and knows how to talk to people, his own self doubt and overachieving nature tends to get in the way of his own self fulfilment.
DEMEANOUR: Controlled, detail-oriented, extroverted, eloquent. Quintus likes being the centre of attention, but only when the attention is positive. He's very concerned with how others see him, which is why he measures his words and tries to adapt to each person when he's talking to them. When things don't go his way he's not aggressive directly, he tends to make backhanded comments and act pedantic if he feels threatened. Towards those of lower rank such as slaves or barbarians he's a lot more direct, mocking or acting dismissive.
BACKGROUND: The youngest of five siblings, Quintus grew up as a patrician and was born into a wealthy, well established family. Since he was a child he wanted to impress others, but was mostly overshadowed by his brothers, particularly Marcus, the oldest, who is a well respected General. This made him grow resentful and constantly trying to one-up him. Even though Marcus was always supportive of his brother, he felt the urge to make himself more important, to distinguish himself from the rest of his family. Quintus served two reluctant years in the legions as a young man, mainly as an administrative tribune. He despised the physical hardships and felt out of place; the feeling was mutual. He prefers to pretend the entire period does not exist unless he can spin it into a political advantage.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Lucius Atteius Lunaris, 43: The eldest son and the golden child. Smart, handsome, charming, Quintus grew used to living in his brother's shadow. The two have a cordial relationship and Marcus loves all his siblings dearly, but Quintus has always seen him as the biggest competition since they were young.
Atteia Maxima Lunaris, 42, sister: Married to a Praetorian, she doesn't live in the home anymore. The sibling he has the closest relationship with, the two often meet up to catch up.
Atteia Secunda Lunaris, 38, sister: A priestess of Ceres, the least outgoing of the five siblings. Creative and kind, the two often clashed in tastes, but rarely argued.
Celsus Atteius Lunaris, 36, brother: The second youngest of the five, the two never had much in common. Celsus had a fragile health as a child that followed him into adulthood, and is currently bed bound. Physicians aren't sure of what is ailment is, simply understanding it affects his mind and mobility.

ΰͺββ΄ OTHER
β’ Politically, with the current power struggle between Anthony and Octave, he sides with Octave. He hardly ever makes these views evident, though, preferring to play both sides until things settle down.
β’ Quintus worships Minerva and has a shrine dedicated to her in his home.
β’ He's terrified of cats and despises them, a stray scratched him when he was young and he's hated them ever since.
β’ He regularly attends gladiator fights and sometimes places bets on them.
β’ His philosophy is panem et circenses, he believes that as long as the people are placated, politics generally go smoothly.
β’ His favourite food is goat cheese with prunes.
β’ He has a nervous tic in which he squeezes his eyes tightly, particularly when stressed or overwhelmed. It's his tell whenever he's anxious
β’ Quintus is terrible at board games, ironically enough. He usually gets frustrated with being explained the rules and is a sore loser. Most people avoid playing any sort of game with him.
β’ During his military years, he threw a pilum so poorly it hardly went over two metres. Lucius still calls him "Pilum" to this day as playful teasing, Quintus seethes quietly.
Quintus organised a gathering in his villa after a gladiator fight as a way to network.

The forum was always busy, but particularly in this time of day, where people were rushing out of the Colosseum after the gladiator fights came to an end and they went on to visit the shops and mingle amongst each other.
Quaestor Quintus Atteius Lunaris was no different, he was the one who had organised this whole event after all. He had responsibilities with treasury, of course, but someone had to make a public appearance, so there he was. Having to host a stupid party filled with stupid people in his normally quiet villa.
But he couldn't voice his disdain. No, Quintus had learnt from a young age the power of words, of appearances, of a well timed smile. So that was what he did. Going from guest to guest like a bee going flower to flower. Smiling, laughing, joking, he might as well have been leaning over and kissing their rear. Everyone in this room is an idiot, he thought to himself.
Quintus discreetly glanced out as he navigated his way towards the atrium. The sun was still high, he still had a few hours of torture left. It wasn't that Quintus didn't enjoy a good party, just not when he was the one organising it, left to deal with drunk guests. His back and shoulders were taut with tension, and he did his best to relax him, his right hand instinctively coming to fidget with a ring on his left.
Soon. Quintus told himself. Soon I'll have the position I deserve and more. I simply must endure the rest first.
