Backstory

• Born as the third child into the cult that is The Children of The Light as a member of the Duffy Family Quinn was destined to become a high ranking member. Her grandfather the leader and her father the second The Natter attacked. A local cryptid that is The Light's enemy. Quinn's mother, grandfather and two siblings killed in the attack along with many other members. Since then the cult has struggled to return to it's former power over Mount Redpine. However key members of the local law enforcement, government and institutions are still inside the cult. Quinn now next in line after her father passes to be the leader.

The Children of The Light

• The lights above Mount Redpine attract attention year round, mostly from UFO chasers and ghost hunters. Scientists say its atmospheric phenomena. The lights have been there for longer than words, Cave paintings show a figure dancing over the peak. And one enlightened soul Jacob Duffy in 1891 saw the true form of the dancing lights. He told his family what it told him. That they are children, all children of the Mountain, all children of the light. The cult takes people from the town and it's surrounding using it's agents, some are sacrificed in brutal rituals at a special stump in a clearing surrounded by rings of blood, where they are dismembered alive. Others kept as husbands or wives, married in front of a large bonfire with the remains of the sacrificed cooking on top. the new spouses have shock collars put around their necks and microchips put in their necks... few as pets treated like dogs or cats.
