Philza Minecraft may be a winged human characterized by light skin, blue eyes, and pale blond hair, and a pair of black feathered wings. In his origin story, it revealed that as a kid, he admired crows and tried to invent wings to fly. After several failed attempts to fly, he succeed by flying close to sun and he fell to his death. Philza's wings were initially concealed, as he could only move them a little bit but not enough to make him fly. Philza has had bird wings for as long as he can remember. As a result, he kept them tucked behind his backpack, serving to correct his center of gravity. On Day 238, towards the end of the Purgatoryevent (Day 12), his wings had finally healed enough to be functional. Functional enough to be later pushed beyond their limits as Philza carried Tubbo toward the boat escaping Purgatory. As a result of this great escape, his wings were again damaged and subsequently tucked behind his backpack once more. He would only take them out when he was either alone, with his kids, or with trusted friends like Fit. Though after some more time, Philza had grown more comfortable with people seeing his wings. On Day 339, an odd black and purple substance, reminiscent of The Ender King's signature colors, ominously appeared on Philza's back and shoulders. With its appearance, Philza felt unlike himself — no, he wasn't himself at all. Fearing the danger that he posed to those around him, Philza made the difficult decision to exile himself to a desolate mountain for the sake of their safety. By Day 343, Philza's battle against The Ender King's possession had left him scarred. As a final spiteful act, the Ender King clawed a Philza's wings leaving them utterly tattered purple claw marks as he left Phil's body. Philza's appearance is a modified version of Kisuke Urahara from the anime/manga "Bleach". He wears a black undershirt and a dark green samue with a red belt tied around the waist. Over the samue, he dons a black haori with a white diamond pattern along the bottom hem. Wooden sandals adorn his feet, whereas atop his head sits a green and white striped bucket hat. Additional accessories include a lavender ribbon bracelet around his right wrist, and a 'friendship emerald' that dangles from the left side of his bucket hat. He also wears a yellow ribbon representing sarcoma awareness on the left side of his chest. The "friendship emerald" and the yellow ribbon are references to Technoblade, a dear friend of Philza's. According to Baghera and Maximus, Philza's voice sounds angelic, resembling the sound of an instrument like the 'mandolin'. Around Philza exists a murder of crows, representing his chat. A chatter by the name of AutumnintheNorth sent a donation to Philza, a while ago stating that they see the chatters as "Crows". Phil decided from that point on that the chatters are known as crows.

Philza is a caring and protective individual who values his family's safety and well-being. He is also nurturing and cautious, with a strong sense of responsibility towards those under his care. This may stem from his history in hardcore survival mode. He is shown to be a good parent and encourages the interests of the teens. However, Philza also has a conniving side to him, shown when he encouraged Chayanne’s dangerous arsonist tendencies and was unafraid to make meta references to Chayanne and Cucurucho being played by the same admin in the past, much to the teens’ chagrin. Philza is a consistent fourth wall breaker and regularly calls out anything and everything he sees, especially when it comes to Chayanne and Cucurucho. Even during lore, Philza isn't afraid to break the fourth wall, giving him a laid back and humorous energy. Following the teens' disappearance and his experience with the birdhouse, Philza started struggling to discern what is real or not, often asking anyone nearby if they are able to see things. He has also been increasingly distracted by birds, sometimes catching and bringing them back home. After his first contact with The Ender King, Philza has grown very paranoid and scared for his own life, being well aware of the extent of the Ender King’s powers. He has shared his fears of being "taken away with no way of coming back" with his children, and he has been spending a lot of time in Rose's Sanctuary with them, believing it to be the only safe place on the island, up until one of the messages from Rose was intercepted. Since the server reset, Phil’s personality has been altered. With no protection from Rose, he has become greedy, increasingly so. He started to shamelessly steal from his neighbours, even leaving his children behind in favour of getting more items. All hell broke loose on Day 339. With all the little clarity he had left, Phil, with the help from his kids, tried to burn his backpack where he kept all the loot, believing it would free him from his greedy spiral. However, The Ender King took control of him, and suddenly Phil became very aggressive, demanding they return the backpack, swearing at them and calling Tallulah a "stupid teen" while they were running away. After Phil cleared his mind and managed to gain control of the situation, he told his children to stay away until he would become free of being controlled and left home. On Day 343, The Ender King told him that Chayanne had found his way to him. Phil was scared for his child, scared that he didn't hurt his own son. Once the Ender King left, the Ender King injured Phil's wings on the way out which left Phil in constant pain from the injury. Phil explained on a Hardcore Stream that q!Phil doesn't have Chronic Pain from the injury. He just "trying to equate it more towards 'injury recovery'"
