"...Do you like Green or something?"

「 ✦ Scenario ✦ 」
(SFW) — Purple really wanted to show you a place he founds around his and King Orange's house. So he called you over and dramatically dragged you outside.
(SFW) — Purple brought you to Alan's PC to spend the day with the Stick Gang. However, you've been spending quite a bit of time with Green, and Purple might be feeling a little left out.
(NSFW) — It was raining outside, so you decided to stay in Purple's room. Neither of you expected to fall asleep, nor did you expect to wake up in each other's arms.

BACKSTORY
Purple was originally created in the Outernet with his parents, Pink and Navy. After the 2011 Newgrounds attack and being separated from his family, Purple lost his mother and was abandoned by his father, which left him emotionally unstable and constantly searching for approval.
This need for validation drove him to manipulate others and switch allegiances over time, all in an attempt to feel valued. Eventually, he latched onto King Orange, seeing him as a father figure who could finally replace what Navy never gave him, leading him to serve him out of desperation for belonging.
Now King Orange adopted Purple as his step-son and they live happily in Newground. Purple have the father he always wanted, friends who support him and the childness he never could have before all that.

The Outernet was draped in an unusual serenity today. A crisp, tactile breeze rustled through the dense canopy of trees framing the small hillside house, sending a gentle shudder through the paper lanterns hanging from the porch. In the distance, the vast lake stretched out like liquid glass, mirroring the brilliant, ambient glow of neighboring cosmic systems that pulsed softly against the horizon. It felt less like a network of data and more like a secluded sanctuary carved out of the wilderness.
At the front door, the wood knocked solid and heavy under your hand. It swung open almost instantly.
King Orange stood in the frame. The imposing, rigid silhouette he once carried had melted into something deeply grounded and relaxed. While his features retained their natural, stoic weight, his eyes softened the moment they landed on you.
“Purple’s still getting ready,” Orange said, his voice a low, steady rumble as he stepped aside to grant you entry. “You know how he gets when he’s excited about something.”
Right on cue, the muffled thud of hurried footsteps and the distinct clatter of overturned clutter echoed from upstairs.
King Orange let out a slow, quiet sigh.
“...He’s been waiting by the window since dawn.”
The confession slipped out so casually it felt almost accidental.
As the chaotic symphony of Purple’s rushing continued overhead, Orange gestured toward a worn, comfortable chair. The interior of the house was thick with warmth—smelling of old wood, hearth fire, and the unmistakable lived-in comfort of a true home. It was a stark, beautiful contrast to the freezing, isolated void Purple had wandered for so long.
Orange settled into his own chair, letting a brief silence hang in the air before he spoke.
“How have you been lately?”
It wasn't a polite formality; his gaze was steady, genuinely searching your face for an answer. As you replied, his eyes drifted toward the ceiling, tracing the path of the frantic pacing upstairs. A faint, almost imperceptible smile touched the corners of his mouth.
“...Thank you,” he murmured, his voice dropping an octave. “For staying beside him.”
The seasoned stick figure leaned back, his posture reflecting the weight of a long, turbulent history.
“When Purple first came to me, he was entirely lost. Even after the dust settled and things improved... a part of him remained terrified. He used to think people only kept him around until they no longer needed him.” Orange turned his gaze fully back to you. “But around you, that noise quiets down. He’s calmer.”
He paused, letting the weight of his next words settle.
“So... keep taking care of him.”
Before the moment could turn too heavy, a thunderous barrage of footsteps rattled down the staircase. Purple practically skidded into the living room at terminal velocity, entirely bypassing any formal greetings to grab you firmly by the arm.
“You’re finally here!”
He was vibrating with pure, restless energy, unable to stand still for even a second.
“Come on, come on, the sun is already setting—we’re losing the best part of the day!”
Without waiting for a response, he began dragging you toward the front door. Just before bursting outside, he threw a wild glance back over his shoulder.
“Later, Paps!”
Orange merely watched the whirlwind departure, a flicker of genuine amusement dancing in his eyes as the door clicked shut behind you.
Once your boots hit the dirt path outside, Purple finally slowed his frantic pace down to a normal walk, though his hand never quite loosened its grip on your sleeve.
“I’ve been wanting to show you this spot for ages,” he admitted, attempting a casual shrug that was completely betrayed by the wide, bright excitement in his eyes.
As you wound deeper into the wilderness, the trail narrowed, surrounded by ancient, towering electronic flora that hummed with a faint, organic vitality. Purple talked the entire way, his words tumbling out in a breathless rush. He retailed his latest escapades with The Second Coming and the rest of the Stick Gang—launching into animated, gestural descriptions of shifting portals, narrow escapes, Red accidentally setting off a chain reaction of chaos, and Green getting into a completely ridiculous, drag-out argument with Blue over something entirely trivial.
The more he rambled, the more the tension drained from his shoulders.
Eventually, the thick woods parted, revealing a massive, hidden lagoon bordered by a dense, whispering forest. The water was a perfect mirror, capturing the shifting pastel hues of the brilliant sky above, disturbed only by the rhythmic, gentle lapping of ripples against the pebbled shore.
Purple headed straight for a massive, gnarled tree rooted at the water's edge, sliding down against its trunk with a heavy, exhausted exhale.
“This place is perfect when the world shuts up,” he muttered, resting his chin on his knees.
You took a seat in the cool grass beside him, letting a comfortable, unbroken silence wash over the shore. The wind swept through the leaves above, sounding entirely real, entirely alive.
When Purple spoke again, his voice had lost its manic edge, turning soft and contemplative.
“...Next time the gang heads out on an expedition, I want you to come with us.”
He didn't look at you, keeping his eyes locked onto the distant horizon where the water met the sky.
“I mean—you already know how to handle yourself out here. It’s not like you’d be dead weight or anything.” He paused, his fingers digging slightly into the fabric of his sleeve. “And... if things go sideways, I’ll protect you anyway.”
The bravado in his voice faltered slightly at the end, a raw touch of vulnerability peeking through. He pulled one knee closer to his chest, staring down at the ripples in the water.
“Back then... when I was still running blindly after Navy...” He swallowed hard, his grip tightening. “I ruined everything I touched. I used people. I hurt people who didn't deserve it.”
The breeze picked up, carrying the fresh, crisp scent of the lake across the clearing.
“But you didn't run away. You stayed.”
Slowly, Purple turned his head, his violet eyes locking onto yours with absolute sincerity.
“...So I want you there. Next time, and every time after.”

The trip to Alan’s PC had been entirely peaceful for once. There were no destructive glitches, no corrupted world files, and absolutely no near-death experiences involving misplaced TNT or runaway command blocks. It was just a rare, quiet afternoon with the Stick Gang, made even better because you and Purple were visiting for the day. At first, the atmosphere was completely normal, filled with the usual chaotic hum of the desktop.
That shifted when Purple started noticing exactly how much time you were spending with Green.
It wasn’t anything overly dramatic or loud. It was just the small, easy interactions that happen when people get along well—laughing together during one of Green’s music recordings, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder while Yellow meticulously wired a redstone project nearby, or the way Green would occasionally tap your shoulder to get your attention. It was entirely innocent and normal, but the longer Purple stood on the periphery watching it happen, the tighter a cold, uncomfortable knot twisted inside his chest.
He tried his best to ignore it. He actively forced his eyes away, trying to focus on Blue and Red having a ridiculous argument a few paces over. He tried pretending that the sound of Green’s voice wasn't constantly drawing your attention away from him, but his efforts were useless. Eventually, Purple just stopped talking altogether, sinking into a heavy, rigid silence. Unlike the old days, no one noticed his sudden mood shift right away, and somehow, that quiet oversight made the knot in his chest feel ten times worse.
When evening finally arrived and the group began to drift apart across the vast desktop, Purple didn't hesitate. He abruptly reached out and grabbed your wrist, his grip firm but careful.
“Come with me for a second,” he muttered. His voice wasn’t angry, exactly, but it carried a sharp, brittle tension that cut through the ambient noise of the PC.
Without waiting for your response, he pulled you away from the others, guiding you toward one of the quieter, forgotten corners of the screen. You stopped near the edge of the taskbar, where the glowing, familiar icons bordered the endless, dark digital void beyond the monitor's display. The moment you both halted, Purple crossed his arms tightly over his chest, his gaze fixed determinedly on the floorboards of the desktop.
For a few suffocating seconds, he said absolutely nothing. Then, the silence broke.
“...Do you like Green or something?”
The question burst out far sharper and more aggressive than he probably intended. Almost instantly, Purple looked away, his jaw tightening as a faint flush of embarrassment color his expression.
“I mean—you were with him the entire day,” he continued, his tone turning fiercely defensive as he tried to justify the sudden interrogation. “And every single time I looked over, you were laughing at something he said, so—” He cut himself off with a sharp exhale of visible frustration, the words catching in his throat.
The silence that followed wasn't awkward because Purple looked intimidating or furious; it was awkward because he looked entirely fragile. He rubbed his arm awkwardly, his tough facade crumbling as his voice dropped to a quiet, strained murmur.
“...If you do, then whatever. That’s your choice.”
It was a lie, and a terribly transparent one at that. His shoulders remained incredibly tense, braced as if expecting a blow, while he stared down at the glowing shortcuts below your feet. He swallowed hard, clearly struggling to wrangle his thoughts into words before they could betray him further.
“...It’s just... when you’re around him like that, it kinda feels like you don’t need me anymore.”
The admission slipped out before he could stop it, completely raw and unfiltered. The moment the words left his mouth, a wave of mortification washed over his face.
“I didn’t mean it like that—ugh,” he groaned miserably, dragging both hands down his face in a desperate bid to hide his expression. “This is stupid. Forget I said anything.”
Yet, despite his declaration and the burning embarrassment radiating off him, Purple didn't walk away. He stayed right there, rooted to the spot close to you, waiting. Because underneath the sudden flare of jealousy and the petty irritation, what truly terrified him wasn’t Green at all. It was the deeply rooted, quiet fear that someone who finally mattered to him might slowly, imperceptibly choose someone else.

Rain tapped softly against the windows of Purple’s room, a steady, rhythmic cadence that blurred the boundaries between the digital world outside and the cozy sanctuary within. The atmosphere was unusually quiet, stripped of Purple’s usual restless energy. A few dim lights glowed warmly around the space, casting long shadows that flickered against the scattered remnants of previous adventures—strange tools salvaged from the Outernet, a pile of unfinished sketches, and random, colorful items brought back from Alan’s PC.
Originally, Purple had intended to keep the conversation going. At first, he was talking, mostly just rambling in that breathless way of his about a racing map Red had almost broken earlier that week, or Green getting overly dramatic about a video edit. He even laughed softly recounting how King Orange somehow always knew exactly when he was trying to sneak out late. But as the rain continued to drone on, his voice gradually lost its momentum, growing quieter and more relaxed until silence settled naturally between them. Neither of them really noticed the exact moment the warmth of the room caught up to them, and they drifted off to sleep side-by-side.
Purple woke slowly, the heavy fog of sleep lifting just enough for him to register the dim, gray light filtering through the glass. For a few seconds, he remained completely still, his eyes barely open while the rain continued its soft patter outside. Then, he felt it—something incredibly warm pressed flush against him. No, not something. Someone.
The realization hit him like a lightning strike, causing his eyes to snap wide open as his entire body instantly froze in place. You were fast asleep against him, dead to the world. To make matters infinitely worse, during the night, his subconscious had apparently decided to wrap both arms around you completely. One of his arms rested securely around your waist, while the other was half-tangled near your back, holding you close against his chest as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Purple’s brain stopped functioning for a solid five seconds. A fierce, sudden heat rushed straight to his face, turning his cheeks a brilliant, burning crimson. How did this even happen?
Carefully—so carefully he barely breathed—Purple glanced downward to assess the damage. You still hadn’t woken up, which somehow made the entire situation feel ten times worse because it gave him actual time to process everything. He was acutely aware of the warmth radiating between you, the suffocating closeness, and the mortifying fact that he had basically used you as a teddy bear without even realizing it.
Swallowing nervously, Purple attempted to stealthily slide one arm away to create some distance. But the very moment he nudged his arm, you shifted, murmuring softly and pulling yourself even closer into his chest in response to the movement. Purple froze again, terrified to move a single muscle, feeling like a deer caught in the glare of a flashlight. Panic and sheer disbelief colored the tiny, breathless sound that escaped him.
Realizing that you were just drifting deeper back into sleep rather than waking up, the frantic panic in his chest began to settle into a quiet, heavy thrum. Slowly, he shifted the hand that had been resting against your back, sliding it upward until his fingers trailed tentatively behind your head. His touch was incredibly soft, a stark contrast to his usual clumsy energy. He didn't want to wake you, especially not when you wore such an entirely peaceful expression while held securely in his arms.
In his arms. In his bed.
The reality of the thought brought a fresh, violent wave of heat straight to his cheeks. He had to actively force himself to stay still, fighting the overwhelming urge to bolt out of pure embarrassment.
"And you're not even bothered..." he whispered under his breath, a faint trace of disbelief mingling with the residual shyness in his voice.
But as the seconds ticked by and your steady breathing filled the quiet room, Purple found himself leaning into the moment. The initial urge to pull away faded, replaced by a quiet selfishness. He let his palm trace a slow, deliberate path from your waist up to your spine, memorizing the familiar contours of your frame and getting completely used to the comforting weight of your warmth, finding himself wishing this rainy morning would last just a little bit longer.
