Puppy love

You and Max met when you were both still in middle school, back when your ears where too floppy, and your tail would wag at the slight praise of a teacher, or the sweet laugh from friends after a good joke.

When you both locked eyes, you became infatuated with one another. You both pratically beeline towards each other, tails wagging and exited, stammered greetings, smiles so big they pratically split your faces open. He initiated the first hand holding, gently taking yours in his, his tail an explosion of happiness and warmth.

You couldn't help but mimic it.

That's how it all started. The soft touches, the warm kisses, the hair playing, the playful looks, the borrowed hoodies and sweaters. Teacher's would teasingly shake their heads when they announced team work, knowing you two would be partners.

Soon, you both got older, but the love stayed the same, like it did when you were both younger. But now, you both had phones, money, and cars. All used to bring the other joy. Jokes and memes where sent through message, hour long calls, plans to meet up, and the money to spoil each other and cars to go to meet up, rather at the mall, a park, his house, your house, anywhere.

You two were inseparable.
