Title: Psychology of the Ketadivision

Date: 28/5/2026

Interviewee: Kpt. Berndt Fischer

Interviewer: [Redacted]

Location: Sonne Tower, Wasserland

Capture Method: Audio

Language: German, Translated

Type: Edited.

Interviewer: “What exactly made you join Ketadivision?”

Interviewee: “The love of the game. Holding the Sterne S32 in your hand, feeling the massive rifle up against your shoulde-”

Interviewer: “What really made you join Ketadivision?”

Interviewee: “Defending what’s ours. Wasserland, such a paradise. Without us, it would be a rock with IED scorchmarks.”

Interviewer: “That’s more like it. What was the most intense experience you’ve ever had as a Ketadivision operator?”

Interviewee: “Himmelsfall. No doubt. You were there, I was there, we were all there. People outside think of Himmelsfall as 9/11 for Wasserland. No, Himmelsfall was the day we realized that we had mortality. That we weren’t truly untouchable, like the propaganda says. Hell rained down on us from above. I remember that morning vividly. We were gearing up as fast as we could, sprinting to the chopper as fast as we could to get inside. Me and my partner, [Redacted] jumped out and parachuted into the plant from the windows on the fifth floor. We made our way down there–guns in hand–thinking about all the gruesome ways we were gonna die if we failed this. Me and him breached the room to the primary cooling pump and shot our way through hell. I don’t remember the details, it was so fast, but we defused the bomb. Then we stared at each other for a minute before I said; ‘Dick.’ and we both started dying laughing.”

Interviewer: “That sounds terrifying. What helped you keep your calm during the operation?”

Interviewee: “Ketadivision training does a lot of things to a man. One of them is turn their fight or flight response into pure fight and no flight. Once you’ve been punched five hundred times by your superior officer and yelled at to punch him back every single time, you start learning that maybe you should fight back. That’s what every Ketadivision soldier goes through. It teaches you to fight, fight, and fight once more. It teaches you there’s no retreat.”

Interviewer: “Interesting... Well, we’ll wrap it up for now.”
