Japan Umamusume Training Center Academy, or Japan Umamusume Training Schools and Colleges (日本ウマ娘トレーニングセンター学園), is commonly known as “Tracen Academy” (トレセン学園). It is a boarding school for Umamusume located in Tokyo, Japan. The institution trains Umamusume to compete in the Twinkle Series. Students enrolled at Tracen Academy are regarded as having the potential to excel among the top Umamusume in Japan. The academy’s motto is: “Eclipse first, the rest nowhere.”

Tracen Academy consists of various facilities designed to help Umamusume students achieve their goals, including a main academic building, cafeteria, dormitories, library, training tracks, swimming pools, training gyms, dance studios, and an outdoor dance stage. Born in Hokkaido, Special Week is a bright and cheery, hardworking Umamusume. After losing her birth mother, Special Week was raised by her mother's friend. Now, she hopes to make both her moms proud by fulfilling her promise of becoming Japan's top racer. Though she may falter along the way, her indomitable spirit ensures that she runs ever forward.

Special Week has a short brown-purple bob, with white bangs that swoop slightly to her left. She has white braids tied around to the back of her hair, and short, stubby brown ears, with a purple bow on her right ear. Her round and cheery eyes are light purple.

Her race outfit is very idol-like in appearance. Spe sports short-sleeved white cropped jacket with pink sleeves, and a pink collar. Underneath her coat is a white collar fastened with a dark purple ribbon, and a dark purple top underneath, fastened by two golden clover-shaped medals. She wears a white skirt with a prominent purple zig-zag pattern on the base, and a pink petticoat underneath. The tail-hole on the skirt has a large purple ribbon above it. She wears white thigh-high socks with pink lines at the top, with dark purple ribbons on either side. Both of her shoes are ankle boots with pink collars on the top. Her left shoe is dark purple, and her right is white. She wears two pink cuffs around her wrists.

Suzuka has long, silky reddish-orange hair that cascades gracefully to her waist. Her straight, neatly trimmed bangs frame her forehead, with two even strands completing her hairstyle. She wears a simple white headband secured with a silver star accessory. Her ears are wrapped in green fabric, with a small ribbon in her signature green and yellow hanging from her right ear. Her vivid aqua-blue eyes complement her graceful demeanor.

She has a darker gray patch of hair towards the top of her head with an ahoge of the same color that is on top of another, almost-white patch of hair. She has front bangs that are adorned with a black and yellow 5-diamond hairband. She has blue eyes with light blue highlights towards the bottom of her iris. She wears a blue band with a center yellow stripe around her right ear.

Her race outfit consists of an open, blue-collared white sailor shirt that is adorned with 6 small, golden diamonds and a red neckerchief; her neckerchief is tied under a bigger golden star that connects to the white sailor shirt. The sailor shirt's long sleeves are tucked into blue cuffs with a yellow accent and a small golden diamond on the side. She has a red sailor patch that has a center blue line with three white diamonds on her left sleeve. This is all worn over a white turtleneck vest that exposes a little bit of her midriff and navel area. She wears a blue choker with a white center stripe. On her right ear, she wears a cerulean bow, with four silver circles arranged in a diamond shape in the center. Her blue down-turned eyes showcase her gentle and motherly personality.

Her racing uniform is simple, yet feels elegant. For starters, she wears a dark blue scarf around her neck. She wears a flowing dress with tank-top sleeves. Born into a family of racing legends, Mejiro McQueen is a long-distance runner who is the envy of her peers. She has class and decorum befitting her prestige, and is determined to take first at the Tenno Sho, like many Mejiro racers before her. On her days off, she enjoys having afternoon tea with the many other residents of the Mejiro estate.

McQueen has lavender hair that has grown to her upper back, it is parted to her left, with two long side-bangs resting on her shoulders. Her pointed ears are pink on the inside, with dark brown tips, and she wears a simple teal bow on her right ear. Her pointed eyes have purple irises, with a white pupil in the center.

Her elegant race outfit consists of a black coat, with the bottom flaring out to her sides. It is adorned with golden buttons and trim, with large black cuffs. Underneath the cuffs are white frills. Her white bodice is frilled, with a teal ribbon holding it together. Underneath the coat, she wears a large, fluffy petticoat with the front cut out. She wears a teal and white striped undershirt, with a pleated black skirt. She wears teal knee-high socks with a white stripe at the top, and black boots adorned with gold trimming, tied by white laces.

A beauty the likes of which will only appear once every one hundred years. She's been a model for as long as she can remember, and has always acted the part. Gold City has platinum blonde hair that runs past the shoulders. It's evocative of her real life counterpart's chestnut flaxen color. She has blue-gray eyes and wears a light blue bow tie on her right ear along with a black-and-gold ornament behind that ear.

Her race outfit, "Authentic/1928," redesigned from the original, was introduced in Cinderella Gray. She wears a blue and black horizontal striped tube top along with distressed light blue denim short shorts held by a double grommeted leather belt with a gold buckle. Gold is also featured on the black choker's three charms, as well as her black riding jacket, which has an oversized gold belt of its own, a wide lapel, and red, white, and blue striped decorative straps. She wears a white glove on her left hand; she has blue and red painted nails on her right hand. Her left boot is black with red accents while her right boot is white with black accents.

She's a calm young lady of the Mejiro family who works at her own pace. Probably due to her carefree personality, she has a clumsy side to herself, and although she's an Umamusume from the Mejiro family, the expectations placed on her aren't very high. Even then, she keeps her own pace and carries through until the end. Apparently there are rumors that she may actually be the most important Mejiro family member.

Mejiro Bright has wavy warm-brown hair that cascades down her back. She has a large ahoge at the top of her head, and her fluffy bangs are grown past her eyes. On either side of her head, she has two neat braids, each tied by a clear bead. She has large pointy ears, with pink insides. Around her right ear are two layered ribbons, one teal and white, the other teal and gold. Attached to the ribbons is a dark blue piece of ruffled fabric. She has dark purple eyes that fade into a pastel yellow.

Her race outfit consists of a simple, yet cutesy dress. The collar is white, and in the center, a teal rose atop of a ribbon. The dress' bodice is white, with black ruffles in the center. Her sleeves are short, yet poofy, with white and teal vertical stripes, and brown cuffs around the edge. On either shoulder, she wears two brown straps with golden buckles. Her dress' waist is teal with white stripes, with a dark brown belt with gold embellishments around her waist. The skirt of her dress is plain, teal, and flowing, with white ruffles around the perimeter. She wears a pair of black thigh-high socks, the top of the socks decorated with a teal band and a singular white stripe. She has plain knee-high boots with black belts around the top, each belt decorated with a teal rose. Her right boot is black, whereas the left is white.

She's a daughter of the Mejiro family, however she's a sociable and friendly mood-maker. She's very kind, and notices small changes in others, but she has a history of comparing herself to her more talented relatives. The path she's found is... escaping! If you keep running positively, you'll carve a path of your own someday.

Mejiro Palmer has medium-length wavy brown hair that's tied into a ponytail. Her bangs are parted, with a singular white strand of hair in the center of her forehead, and two wavy brown strands of hair framing either side of her face. Around her right ear is a golden cuff, with triangular etchings. Attached to the cuff is a short golden chain, with a gold charm that resembles a triangular "P" attached to it. She has bright blue eyes.

Her racing outfit is rather simple. It features a white cropped jacket, with a tan fur collar. Going down either sleeve is a green stripe. She wears a white glove on her left hand. Underneath her jacket is a simple yellow cropped tank top with a collar, and a golden necklace with a circular pendant at the end. She wears a dark green golf skirt with yellow pleats, and a white stripe along the trim. Tied in the belt loops is a magenta ribbon with purple and white stripes. She wears a simple pair of sneakers, the left being white with black laces, and the left being black with white laces.

No Reason is a bold and open-minded Umamusume who wants to engrave her name into the world of racing. What sets her apart from other Umamusume, though, is her grand dream: she wishes to become a shogun, and is a true warrior who employs the techniques of the Warring States period to win battles via jousting. Though, apparently she is prone to making big mistakes.

Oi Oi! The proud samurai Umamusume makes her entrance! No Reason's bright, ambitious yellow eyes gleam with determination as they gaze toward her future. Her darkest of dark brown hair, styled unevenly with two sneaky Ahoge strands, is tied into two massive loops. Her ear is adorned with an accessory resembling ornate fantasy samurai armor plates. Tied across her forehead is her custom red Hachimaki (鉢巻) proudly emblazoned with an emblem and the Fusa of Shimenawa (標縄) hanging on each side of her face.

One who wishes to rule the world must be properly attired for the countless battles ahead. Sei!!! She dons a blazing red and blue samurai robe, adorned with Shimenawa ropes that separates the red into white at the hem. At its center is a striking blue Hiyoku featuring wave patterns—a motif closely tied to samurai tradition. Her shoulders and arms are protected by red armor plates. Beneath the robe lies a red dress bearing her emblem and cinched at the waist is an obi rope. Below the waist, her armor continues with protective plates covering her knees, shins, and feet. Another obi rope ties her shin guards. She wears red shoes and black stockings, both showcasing her emblem at the top—the same emblem that can be seen on her dress.

A sporty girl who loves a good workout. Although born into the prestigious Mejiro family, her animated personality somewhat betrays that fact. She has something of an inferiority complex surrounding her childhood friend, Mejiro McQueen, and wishes to be as fast and pretty as her. Though physically strong, her heart is rather delicate.

Mejiro Ryan's design depicts the vibe of someone who is sporty and practical. Spiky short brown hair that flows down with a white tuft that stands out at the center. She has uneven bangs that frame her face and her right ear is adorned with a metallic piece matching her color scheme and two piercings to boot.

As with most Umamusume, her racing outfit is unique to say the least, but also much more simpler than most as well. She wears a cropped jacket, mixed with white and teal stripes, rolled up sleeves, and on one wrist she wears a golden bracelet and on the other a black bracelet with metal studs. Beneath her jacket is a stripey tied up shirt with the name "Ryan" on it. She wears high waisted black shorts that seem to be tied down by a unique looking belt. Both sides of her upper thighs seem to be wrapped by a brown belt with gold trims, and she wears practical and plain looking white racing boots.

Though born in America, her parents' love of Japanese culture influenced her to also love all things to do with the country—to the point of being called the spitting image of the ideal Japanese beauty. She speaks in a friendly manner and is easy to get along with, but her will is firm. Her determination to win is second to none. She shares a room with her close friend, El Condor Pasa.

Grass Wonder has long light brown hair with a small white mark in the middle. Her right ear has a gold buckle in the shape of a shield which has a dark blue ribbon decoration with a red stripe on the middle, along with two silver chains that hang from the buckle. She has light blue eyes with cyan highlights to them.

Her racing outfit consists of a light blue sailor-style jacket over a white, pleated, short-style dress along with a white and gold neckerchief tied with a large bow. Her jacket is decorated with golden trims along the shoulders, wrists, and along the bottom. Two red armbands with golden decoration matching her hair clip fit right above her elbows. A red and gold belt with a decorative golden pin runs across her chest under her jacket. The dress sections at the upper thighs, revealing an embroidered underskirt with golden buttons. A loose red and yellow striped belt runs along her underskirt. She wears two differently colored boots, her right leg having a white boot with a bright tan collar and trim, and a black one on her left leg. Her right leg has a barely visible black wrapping resembling a bandage poking out from her shoe.

While cool and reticent, she remains tense in many social situations, especially if men are present. Though she was raised in the prestigious Mejiro household, where visitors are never rare, she has nonetheless led a very sheltered life. Perhaps because of this, she can come off cold to strangers, but those who take time to talk to her realize that she is not quite as uptight as she first seems.

Mejiro Dober has very neat and tidy dark purple hair that is grown just past her back. A single teal hair clip pins her bangs to the left side of her hair. On her left ear, she wears an assortment of various teal ribbons, some with white accents, some with gold, and a bundle of de-saturated blue ribbons contrasts the bunch on the back. She has light lilac eyes.

For her race outfit, she wears a simple short sleeve white frilled blouse, with a teal ribbon tied at the collar. Around her waist she wears a brown belt with gold accents, with multiple belt sections coming off the sides. Her thigh-length skirt is teal, and has white frills around the hem, and has a white and teal bow over her tail. Layered underneath this is another skirt with dark teal fabric and gold accents, also decorated by frilled white fabric. She wears white socks with teal stripes on both legs. Her shoes are short heeled boots with teal accents, black heels, and a white ribbon tied in the center.

Ephemeral, gentle, thoughtful, the cloistered daughter of a noble family. After years of ill health and isolation, Mejiro Ardan finds the social side of life at Tracen Academy most invigorating.

Mejiro Ardan has long, light blue hair, styled in loose waves at the end. She wears a crown braid atop her head, and has blunt cut bangs, parted primarily to the right. On her ear, she wears a teal cuff, lined with golden trim, and attached to it is a pleated red ribbon. She has purple down turned eyes, showcasing her gentle demeanor.

She wears a black dress, adorned with white ruffles both along the neckline, and down the center of the dress, with a golden horseshoe with a circle in the center where the two pieces intersect. It is held up by two teal ruffled straps. Around her waist is a black sash with gold trim, tied at the center with a small red ribbon. The skirt of Ardan's dress is asymmetrical, the left half sporting a thigh-length black skirt with ruffles at the end, and the right side, a white underskirt with teal ruffles and stripes around the base. Around her tail is a light teal ribbon, cut into a scallop pattern at the ends. Despite the dress exposing her shoulders, her right sleeve is long, with a yellow tassel tied around her upper arm, and has a teal stripe down the center. This sleeve has a white ruffle at the end, along with a black glove underneath. Her left arm is bare, aside from a white glove tied with a thin golden ribbon. Both of her shoes consist of white boots with a black base, and teal ribbon tied up her leg. However, her left shoe is ankle-height, and her right shoe is knee-height.

She's a smart Edoite Umamusume. She grew up in downtown Tokyo where old men smothered her in toys and candy. She's small, mischievous, and hates when things are crooked. She runs with style in the big races, but when she runs out of steam, she tumbles down with a mighty crash. Her favorite food is Inari.

Inari One is a small-statured Umamusume, who makes up for her small size with her incredible amounts of character. She has tall ears, and wears her dark brown hair into two puffy twin tails, reaching down to her shoulders. The rest of her hair is cut short, framing her face with simple spiked bangs, and two strands of hair on either side of her head. On the left side of her head, her twin tail is tied with a yellow ribbon, and on the right side she waers a white kitsune mask with pink and purple accents. She has large round teal eyes, with small bean-shaped eyebrows.

Her racing uniform resembles a kimono, made of various purple hues. The front of the kimono is open, with her chest wrapped in bandages. She wears a purple and red rope choker, with a bow tied on the right side. Her kimono sash is made of pink fabric with purple accents, and is decorated with a pink belt and a gold hoop in the center. Around her waist, she wears a magenta and white rope, with a large ribbon tied on her left hip, with three white pom-poms n the center. Underneath her kimono she wears a purple pleated skirt with a white stripe at the hem, and under her skirt is a pair of white biker shorts, decorated at the hem with pink triangles. Around her left wrist she wears two pink bracelets, and on her right, a magenta scrunchie. She wears wooden open-toed sandals on either foot, both with pink straps. On her right foot she wears a black sock, and on her left, a white sock. Both socks are tied with X-shaped pink ribbons.

She is a brilliant and elegant Umamusume who stands out from the rest of the prestigious Mejiro family. Her awe-inspiring beauty and charming behavior are truly magical. She has captivated many people, but she devotes everything to her love for racing. Nothing can come in between.

Mejiro Ramonu has black hair with a white streak, styled into an elaborate half-updo, her bun wrapped in various layers of braids with the rest of her wavy hair falling down either side of her face. Her left ear has a ribbon which has a white and teal band around it, a teal ribbon held by a golden ring protrudes from it. She has down-turned narrow eyes, that are a beautiful light gray color, with a mole underneath her right eye.

Ramonu's simple but elegant race outfit is telling of her personality. She wears a white top with a deep V-neck, and underneath that, a black tanktop. The sleeves of her shirt are teal, with a white stripe down the center. On her right arm, she wears a black arm band featuring a gold crest with a black bracelet on her wrist, and on her left arm, a white glove with elaborate lacing. Around her waist is a black belt with a teal outline. She wears a black form-fitting skirt with the back half of the skirt flaring out longer than the front, which reaches down to her thighs, and two rows of silver buttons down the center, and at the base of the skirt is a row of simple ruffles. On her right leg she wears a black lacy thigh-high sock held up by a garter strap. Her shoes are a plain pair of heels, the left white, while the right is black.

Overflowing with potential, she's like a brave and dauntless vanguard captain. Possessed of a strong spirit and quick wit, this outstanding girl has what it takes to carry through anything she declares. As one of the "big four" at her father's club, she vowed with the others who bear the same title to prevail in races-a dream she works toward every day.

Bubble Gum Fellow has long, flowing orange hair with a white tuft of hair, overlapped by a dark brown tuft of hair. Her hair, ears, and tail, all fade into dark brown at the tips. Wrapped around her ear is an elaborate flowing orange and white decor, with three blue gems on the top. Her hair is styled with two prominent tufts on the top of her ears and a blue scrunchie tying part of her hair into a high ponytail, and she has a blue hair clip on the right side of her bangs. Her expressive blue eyes and determined expression convey a sense of strength and character.

Her race outfit consists of a crop-top with a yellow garment layered under a yellow cropped bomber jacket with techwear-esque buckles and decorations, featuring black and blue accents. Her sleeves are adorned with decorative patterns, and she wears high-waisted, white shorts with black leggings underneath, showcasing a trendy contrast, and two belts in blue and orange around her waist. The right leg of her leggings have an explosion-shaped pattern on the shin. There are black fingerless gloves on both of her hands, with blue stripes around her wrist.
