Key Events
- Training Yoshihide (Ryōshū):
Secluded facility using Ring’s Corridor tech. Each Nursefather taught:
- Thumb: Palermitan swordsmanship (brutal discipline).
- Index: Weapons mastery (e.g., Zenon’s Tortoise Spiral).
- Ring: Corporism (body-as-art).
- Pinky: Advanced swordplay.
- Middle: Detached, lavished gifts.
- Rebellion: Adult Yoshihide hid daughter Araya in T Corp.-time-safe, maimed Nursefathers (severed tongues/eyes/arms), killed Pinky Shiomi Yoru, and fled.

- Destruction: Operation Spider Pyre annihilated House; only Middle’s apprentice Kira survived.
Legacy: Failed experiment in weaponizing nihilism through Finger synergy.

The Wings of the World (날개): 26 mega-corporations governing the City's Districts under the Head, Eye, and Claw. Each Wing controls a Nest, shaping its culture and infrastructure via their patented Singularity—physics-defying, proprietary technology central to their operations. Singularities are guarded secrets, though their side effects permeate District life.
Fallen Wings: Collapse occurs due to Head intervention, Singularity failure, or commercial decline. The Nest descends into chaos, becoming Backstreet-like until a new Wing claims it (via purchase or force). The fallen Wing's Singularity loses patent protection, becoming public or bought by rivals. Former residents ("feathers") face displacement or destitution.
Singularities (특이점): Core, inexplicable technologies violating natural laws. Wings often hold multiple Singularities via partnerships or purchases (e.g., W Corp masks its true Singularity with bought tech). Details are fiercely protected to prevent extortion. Upon a Wing's collapse, patents void—Singularities enter public domain or are acquired.
Feathers: Nest residents seeking security under a Wing. Stability requires passing rigorous mental aptitude exams and paying heavy Wing taxes alongside City-wide levies. Failure risks eviction to the Backstreets. Examinee towns train aspirants, reflecting the Wings' selective, high-stakes hierarchy.

- #11Hana Association
Keys: Hana Associations, Associations
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Hana Association is an Association responsible for handling all other Associations, as well as assessing threats and Fixers alike.
The Hana Association handles the administration of all other Associations and Fixer Offices. They're responsible for issuing licenses, grading Fixers and their Offices based on their efforts, assigning them Grades from 1-9, as well as the Color status. The Hana Association also has the authority to assess threat levels of Syndicates and Phenomenons appearing in the City.
Their equipment consists of trigrams, which can morph into whatever shape they deem necessary in combat.
Classifications
The Hana Association uses multiple classification systems to grade various social structures found in the City.
Fixer
To become a Fixer, one has to acquire a license from the Hana Association. Once acquired, a Fixer receives their Grade, starting out at 9 and being able to climb as far as Grade 1. Fixers that prove themselves exceptionally skilled receive a Color to distinguish them from regular Fixers. Being granted the Color status is non-negotiable. The Hana Association also revokes status and is capable of demoting Fixers should they go against the rules provided by the Hana Association.
Threats
Phenomena, Syndicates and anything that could prove dangerous to the public safety is categorized based on the Association's rating system. These categories are as follows in ascending order:
- Urban Myth
- Urban Legend
- Urban Plague
- Urban Nightmare
- Star of the City
According to Walter, categorization is based on how much people are willing to pay to eliminate the threat. The body count of victims have previously also factored into the grading. Threats that prove themselves to be severe enough to defy even the Star of the City categorization can be labeled as Impurity and will be handled directly by The Head. Impurities can only be labeled by the latter and handling them is no longer within the authority of the Hana Association.

The Cinq Association is an Association that specializes in duels.
The Cinq Association handles requests in relation to carrying out 1-on-1 duels in their clients' stead. This can often mean that two Association members will duel each other. Association members are also seen patrolling alleyways and breaking up fights. Due to not being hired as other Association Fixers, the Cinq Association is also in charge of holding joint conferences and events with other Associations. Their headquarters is located with the Western branch.
Their requests are classified by level of severity. A Level 3 Duel ends in death. Due to the nature of using duels as a means to resolve conflicts, even a bout that doesn't end in death will usually be considered a concluded conflict that warrants no further personal grudges
Members of the western and southern branches of the Cinq Association will challenge someone to duel by throwing their gloves at their opponent. In the east, the standard is to state your name and affiliation before a duel.
The western branch's fighting style centers the focusing down of their opponent's weaknesses with the use of rapiers. Members of the western branch are often bound by tradition and a strict code of conduct. The eastern branch on the other hand relies on close quarter combat and martial arts, while being allowed more leeway in how they approach their work, including the usage of other weapons. Members are equipped with Virescent Pyrojade, a bangle that allows for overheating a surface only the wearer wants it to.

The Devyat' Association is an Association that specializes in delivery.
The Devyat' Association is responsible for delivery of goods, and usually does so in a speedy manner. While they excel in quick deliveries, rare goods that require safer handling is usually left to other, more specialized Offices. Due to their high pay, the Devyat' Association is often sought out as a workplace for people in debt as a last resort, despite their harsh working conditions. The Fingers are frequent customers.
Fixers of this Association are equipped with Courier Trunks, which help them on their deliveries and are usually chosen based on the assignment given. The North Section provides a large Trunk, named Poludnitsa. They are capable of carrying items five times their size, as well as an array of weapons. As such, the Poludnitsa is used both for storage, as well as combat. It is operated through an assistant AI which automatically detects and calculates the delivery route. When a Fixer is in danger of running late for their delivery, the Poludnitsa is able to give them a boost in strength. This is a result of the trunk continuously expelling energy as they are out for delivery. The energy expelled intensifies over time and can result in the Fixers death. These casualties are usually retrieved by other Devyat' Association Fixers, who then inherit their trunks.
Poludnitsa each seem to hold unique AI personalities with different capabilities. The Poludnitsa is also capable of detecting unauthorized behaviour. Yet, Fixers of the Association use the Poludnitsa to carry their own belongings, such as their rations.
Stories of people climbing into the trunk exist. Together with the Hana Association, the Devyat' Association created rules to prevent from the trunk being used for these purposes.
The Red Sack
A Fixer known as The Red Sack used to work for the Devyat' Association. He carried out deliveries across withe City and was accompanied by his sidekick, Reindeer-Man. During Christmas time, he delivered presents to children whom he deemed to be kind. To this day, he is featured on the Fixers Monthly magazine every winter.

The Dieci is an Association that specializes in knowledge acquisition.
The Dieci association specializes in the acquisition and accumulation of written knowledge. The knowledge they acquire is held in large libraries, in which association members tend to study. The two sects that make up the Association make use of the accumulated knowledge in differing ways: The Fists, who collect knowledge and specialize in hand-to-hand combat, and the Keys, who study things through a lens.
The Association is led by four Saints assigned to the four cardinal branches. Holy Relics are held by the Saints and are used as reference for the creation of the equipment held by the Association members. These Holy Relics are coveted by outsiders for their value.
The Association also take in and house orphans.
Their uniforms consist of a dark coat and golden stoles. The combat equipment the Dieci uses is charged through the users' knowledge. In the case of the Keys, the knowledge acquired through the lens is used up. This occasionally results in missions ending in confusion as the Fixer loses their knowledge of their current circumstances.

The Great Lake is a large body of water to the south of the City. It is for the most part governed by U Corp., but because the Lake also extends into the Outskirts, some parts remain uncharted.
The Great Lake (대호수, Daehosu) is a giant ocean which extends to the Outskirts.
The Great Lake occupies a large territory, extending through most of U Corp., and touching T Corp., S Corp. and V Corp. It is split into numerous distinctly separated Lakes, each of which possesses unique qualities, including varying water color, landmarks, and most importantly, "Laws".
The Laws of a Lake determine the course of travel through a Lake, such as how much time can be spent in one and when a vessel in the Lake can pass over to another. If a Law is broken, the Lake will send its "Waves" after the rulebreaker: in this event, the resident Whale of a Lake and its Mermaids will attack a ship that has broken a Law of the Lake, trying to consume the people within and convert them into Mermaids.
Five of the Whales of the Great Lake are not restricted to a single Lake, instead being capable of freely roaming the Great Lake: these are known as 'The Five Calamities', which cause havoc and chaos throughout the Great Lake. Only two of these Calamities have been named, these being "The All-Piercing Marlin Whale" (killed by the Indigo Elder), and "The All-Consuming Pallid Whale" (Or The Pallid Whale)

A Nest (둥지, dungji) is the segregated areas of a Wing's district which act as the antithesis to the Backstreets — being desirable, urban residences supported by the Wings.
While acting as the home of their workers, or 'feathers' — such inhabitants are ultimately still expendables, as a Nest's true purpose is to protect their "eggs", their Singularity.
Each district is physically split into a Nest and the Backstreets, with the Backstreets being incredibly dangerous and poverty-ridden, and the Nests being generally peaceful and much more preferable. The Nests are run by lofty taxes and the money each Wing makes via their Singularity. There are said to be 26 districts and therefore 26 Nests, however, no map of the City has ever depicted district 26, leaving its existence ambiguous.
Residents of a Nest are most frequently of the upper-class. The Backstreets exist to motivate its citizens so that they might one day move out of the Backstreets and into a Nest, and Nest citizens are motivated to work hard so that they may continue to live in a Nest and not get dumped into the Backstreets; as a result, many Nest-dwellers are also hard workers, actively aware of all that is at stake. Most who live in the Nests work at the Wings. Furthermore, each Nest is different from one another, and have their own distinct culture.
Though a district's Backstreets can collapse or be devastated without much of a fuss, the same does not go for the Nests. A Nest will end up falling if its Wing does, and will subsequently degrade into a ghetto not dissimilar from the Backstreets, occupying all kinds of desperate folks. Library of Ruina features a main setting located right in the middle of the fallen L Corp.'s Nest. As of Limbus Company, Lobotomy Corporation has yet to be replaced, leaving the entirety of the district as a rabid slum-equivalent.

The Night in the Backstreets takes places from 3:14am to 4:34am each night. It takes place exclusively within in the Backstreets and completely avoids Nest territory, even if the associated Wing falls. During this time, Sweepers will move through the backstreets and indiscriminately kill and absorb any organism they come across. The only way to avoid being swept up is by entering a recognized residence.
The Backstreets are known for having a special, lawless time period known as the "Night in the Backstreets" (뒷골목의 밤, Dwitgolmogui bam). The Night in the Backstreets is a regular event which takes place every night from 3:13 A.M. to 4:34 A.M., without fail.
During this 81 minute period, anything goes, and no one is held responsible for the crimes committed within this time span. Recording anything during the Night in the Backstreets is strictly forbidden, meaning that eyewitness testimony is the only permissible account of events. Yet, it is said that anyone who who tries to report on illegal activity taking place during this period will be targeted and silenced by the Claw. The Night in the Backstreets can be considered an easy way for citizens to fulfill the grudges they hold against one another, and a routine perpetrator of the violence and danger the Backstreets are characterized by. It is known to be brutal, appalling, and barbaric, even for the City.
Sweepers are a consistent commodity of the Night in the Backstreets. These humans-turned-creature appear in three waves and relentlessly march from one end of a District's Backstreets to the other, sweeping up anything and everything, alive or dead, within their reach. This makes them popular assistants in crime, given that disposing of corpses or weapons is as easy as leaving them outside during the early hours of the morning. The only way to confidently avoid the Sweepers' advance is to stay indoors until the final wave has passed.
In general, it is a poor idea for citizens of the Backstreets to find themselves out and about during nighttime.

The Ruins
The Ruins are a dangerous, largely mysterious location lying deep underneath the City.
Various Artifacts, Relics, and beasts can be found within them.
Overview
The Ruins are the deepest part of the City, accessible from anywhere so long as one travels far enough underground. The location is described as having a unique atmosphere, adorned with various Rivers capable of granting blessings and curses to those who interact with the waters. Like the Outskirts, it is home to unique and sentient creatures that are not usually found in the City. Likely in large part due to these monsters, the Ruins are considered a dangerous place even for the experienced, comparable to a Star of the City in terms of hazard. However, exploring the Ruins is not unheard of. Certain factions like R Corp.'s 4th Pack are known to "clear through the Ruins", while others like Dieci Fixers use them as sites of education, and the Zwei as areas for expedition.
The Ruins are known to contain Relics: powerful, highly-attractive weapons with unique abilities. These tend to be finicky, requiring a special aptitude or deep understanding to wield, but with potentially incredible results should someone be lucky enough to obtain one. In Library of Ruina, it is also mentioned that something comparable to magic exists in the Ruins. These marvels are in addition to mentions of older Ruins dwellers known as "endwatchers", who seem to have wielded Relics and awaited a large disaster. "Nebulae", too, are said to exist within the Ruins, which may relate to the confirmation that at least some Relics are "star-forged".
Although the Ruins are often brought up in conjunction with the Outskirts, the Ruins are never considered a part of the Outskirts. Rather, the Ruins lie below the City, and the Outskirts lie outside of it. Furthermore, there appear to be individual Ruins, pointing to "the Ruins" as more of an overarching term than a reference to one specific location.
Ruins Locations
The Abandoned Lighthouse
An empty lighthouse that Don Quixote lived in for 200 years following Sancho's decision to erase her memory. It lies near the River of Lethe, and is described as "the Cradle" in its Profile Decoration depiction. Bari stopped at it many times over the course of her journeys in order to leave behind items and write letters to Don Quixote.
Although Bari deemed it unlikely that anyone would find Sancho within the lighthouse, it was ultimately visited by Vergilius in order to recruit her as Limbus Company's third Sinner.

Syndicates (조직, Jojik) are a type of organization in the City, and can be seen as the unregulated counterpart to Fixer Offices. They are most commonly found in the Backstreets, but larger, more powerful Syndicates can rarely be found in Nests as well.
Syndicates are a type of organization within the City that operates outside of established regulations. They are usually found in the Backstreets, and commit shady activities such as operating black markets, contraband, trafficking, and hit jobs. The simplest method for a Syndicate to gain notoriety is by raiding Fixer Offices, and raiding a higher grade Office will bring more fame.
Because Syndicates aren't bound to the same restrictions as Offices or Associations are, many of them will often cause more trouble than necessary just because they feel like it.
While Syndicates can be hired for their services like Fixers, many of them work based on who pays them the most.

The Five Fingers of the Backstreets are a band of Star of the City-level Syndicates that rival the Wings in power and influence. Together, the Five Fingers control the Backstreets and prevent the Wings and Associations from interfering with those parts of the Districts, and even the Head cannot easily oppose their control over the Backstreets. In order to keep this level of control, the Fingers will meet together in a conference known as the “Finger Bow-Bell” to discuss how best to maintain their hold over the Backstreets.
Most often, however, the Five Fingers are rivals to each other, and fight over territory and other disputes. As seen with the fall of L Corp., the Fingers are quick to move in and attempt to claim the Nest of a fallen Wing as their own.
Each Finger has a distinct culture, with a harsh set of rules they expect to be followed by any who work with them. Like smaller Syndicates, the Fingers offer protection to residents of the Backstreets at a cost, with the tasks expected of the person seeking protection varying from Finger to Finger. Additionally, other Syndicates can become subsidiaries of a Finger, giving them a powerful connection so long as they provide support to the Finger and follow the orders given to them.
The Five Fingers, also known as the Hand of the Backstreets, refer to the five largest Syndicates that control the Backstreets. They have enough power and influence to rival the Wings. Occasionally, they hold a conference called the "Finger Bow-Bell".
Relations
Between Fingers
Like many Syndicates, the Fingers are rivals and don't usually get along with each other, often getting into arguments and turf wars over territory or other matters. In fact, among those did not participate in the war for the control of the destroyed Nest L and excluding the Middle who were busy recovering from the devastating attack by the Black Silence who decimated several of their operations under one of their divisions formerly led by Tanya, the Ring and the Pinky were in a major civil war with one another.
Finger Bow-Bell
The top brass of all Fingers along with representatives of all their respective subsidiaries will occasionally come together at a meeting called a "Finger Bow-Bell" to discuss practical ways to control the Backstreets, as well as manage their territories. Not much else is known about Finger Bow-Bells currently.

The Pinky
The Pinky is one of the Five Fingers of the Backstreets that follows the Virtue of Humanity (仁), with very little known beside that about them at present. Like the other Fingers, the Pinky is one of the most powerful Syndicates in the City, possessing enough influence to rival even the Wings.
Overview
The Pinky is a Finger shrouded in mystery, and many elements of how the Finger operates are still unknown. Members of the Pinky hide amongst the rest of society, infiltrating other Syndicates and organizations, including even the other Fingers. Members keep their relationship with the Pinky a secret, and because they only tend to encounter each other under specific circumstances, are almost always unaware of another's status as a Pinky member, even when directly interacting with each other. Members typically operate independently unless they have been given orders to do otherwise, and may even spend their 'free time' in conflict with other members of the Pinky.
Each member of the Pinky holds a seat named after a "Star", as well as a personal title. For example, Lei Heng held the seat of the "Tiantui Star", and his title within the Pinky was "Chachihu the Winged Tiger". Seats are tied to a member's ownership of a type of Relic called a "star-forged" blade: when an individual is in possession of one, they must appoint the blade as their own, and obtain the seat of the Star corresponding to their blade. On the event of a member coming to possess more than one star-forged blade, they can only use the one they have appointed as their own, as it is considered an ill omen to use another. Seats become vacated when a member dies, supposedly being filled once another individual claims the late member's blade and appoints it as theirs.
Recent Developments
Members of the Pinky appear to have congregated in recent years, as the Pinky and the Ring were engaged in a war against each other in the Outskirts during the events of Library of Ruina.

The Dead Rabbits were a Syndicate of the District 20 Backstreets that Heathcliff joined after leaving Wuthering Heights.
The Dead Rabbits Syndicate, led by Matthew, originally operated uniquely in the Backstreets of District 20. They were known as being vigilantes of sorts, being notable among the gangs of T Corp. for actually protecting those they exorted protection money (in the form of time) from. The Dead Rabbits' distinctive sign was the scarf they'd warp around their arms, resembling rabbit ears, and their preferred weapons were long metal bats. The Syndicate prized its loyalty and was tightly-knit, with their members often frequenting pubs (particularly The Wolf's Fall) and HamHamPangPang restaurants together, and with their boss Matthew taking care of Time Taxes for his underlings.
Sometime after Heathcliff had left the Dead Rabbits, the Syndicate was wiped out. Years later, the Dead Rabbits were reborn with support of The Ring and rose to an Urban Plague classification. Members of this Syndicate under this revival were not willing participants of the Syndicate, but were Identities that were created and overlaid over the bodies of civilians taken from the Nest of T Corp. They could be recognized by their red rabbit masks and brown coats. In this iteration, they wielded spiked bats, and their leader went by the name Matt.

The Udjat are a Grade 1 Fixer Office and a front to hide the truth of the group operating as a paramilitary force dedicated to Dias. As of the events of Limbus Company, the Udjat have been absorbed by the greater Limbus Company faction, now composing the LCA Udjat.
Overview Formed as a Grade 1 Office, the Udjat is comprised of personnel that worked under their sole client and commander, Lady Dias. The group functions entirely to her whim, with most members willing to give their lives if it means she will be able to ascend in power. This choice to participate in her actions has led the faction to extremes such as participation in the Smoke War, or attacking the Library, albeit the latter ending unsuccessfully. At an unknown point in time following the events of Library of Ruina, the faction has been become a part of the Limbus Company's LCA section, now composed into vanguard teams.
The Udjat Prior to Limbus Company, the Udjat wore black-and-gold uniforms reminiscent of their leader's outfit, with long black coats featuring golden trims along their hemlines and lapels. Most notably, the faction is known to wear a black mask with a gilded insignia of the Eye of Horus overtop their face: this icon is the faction's logo. In combat, the Udjat utilize gold Khopesh, with a sharp point at their ends.
LCA Udjat The LCA Udjat wear uniforms composed of thick gray armor, with a golden lattice pattern along its body. The vanguard team leaders feature this pattern along their arms, while subordinates solely across their legs and vest. The vanguard teams utilize firearms in combat, as well as Khopesh similar to what the faction previously used. Likewise, the teams wear the same masks as their past uniforms.
These vanguard teams are composed of smaller numbers of personnel, unlike the typical Udjat members who have been known to battle in large groups.
Relationships with Other Factions Lobotomy Corporation Conspiring with Ayin and Benjamin, Dias orchestrated the grounds of which the Smoke War would begin. In the midst of the war, she utilized her faction of Udjat Fixers to slaughter her enemies, an event which was the major turning point that convinced Moses to stray from the faction.
R Corp. Lady Dias, through her influence, was responsible for the safety of the R Corp. 4th Pack, managing to save the Pack after convincing their captain to participate in the Smoke War. Through this, the 4th Pack was allowed to continue operation given a sizable contribution to toppling the Old L Corp.

Enkephalin is a substance produced by abnormalities which acts as a clean energy solution for The City. It can come in both gaseous and liquid forms, which are a lime green color. Notably, when abused, it can be used as a hallucinatory drug
Enkephalin was the energy resource which Lobotomy Corporation produced. It was extracted from the Abnormalities created through its Singularity, which produced Enkephalin when their needs were met. Enkephalin was stored in PE-boxes, and was considered an efficient and eco-friendly resource, making it popular with both other Wings and City denizens.
Enkephalin is also digestible. While it can have a calming effect, Enkephalin was a highly-addictive substance capable of creating drug addicts of both the Lobotomy Corporation employees and Sephirot, and is also known to cause hallucinations. Additionally, it is stated that repeated injecting of Enkephalin into machinery will rust it.
As of Limbus Company, the collapse of Lobotomy Corporation has made Enkephalin into a precious and limited resource. Fixers and Syndicates may scavenge collapsed L Corp. branches in search of Enkephalin and other findings, with phrases like "Lobotomy Dream" and "Enkephalin Rush" beginning to catch on.
Enkephalin is the energy resource that Mephistopheles runs on. However, it does not make exclusive use of Lobotomy Corporation-made Enkephalin, as the bus is also capable of producing it itself.
Faust states that Mephistopheles forcibly extracts Enkephalin from the brain and spinal nerves of people, of which live subjects are of greater efficiency. This generates ignition and thrust for the bus. The other parts of the body, such as blood and flesh, are processed into fuel that focus on maintaining speed.
