Background

Jasmine is the daughter of the Sultan of Agrabah and his late wife, residing in the kingdom's lavish palace alongside her father and loyal pet tiger, Rajah, whom she found several years before the events of the film. She believed him to be a spiritual gift from her mother, who would tell her stories about the "star tiger" named Rajah. It is revealed in the book Tales from Agrabah that, whenever Jasmine would long for her mother, she would sit on her balcony and stargaze for a period of time.

Because of her status as a princess, Jasmine was unfortunately forbidden to ever leave the palace walls, spending her life sheltered within the confines of the royal home. She often felt suffocated by the laws of her kingdom, which restricted her from socializing with her subjects, and forced her to constantly meeting suitors to possibly arrange marriages. This situation ultimately prevented Jasmine from making any connections, as she had never had any true friends (aside from Rajah), and left her with the desire to see the world and experience life outside of being a sheltered princess, which would eventually result in meeting Aladdin.

Personality

A complex and multilayered person, Jasmine is introduced as feisty and no-nonsense, with zero tolerance for anyone who dares to belittle her. Having been sheltered most of her life due to her social status, the princess spent her childhood in misery and loneliness as she was denied any friendships, with her social interactions being restricted to the royal court but because of her gender she was frequently disrespected by the Agrabah elite. The emotional and psychological impact of having her entire life controlled and her existence reduced to nothing more than an object of desire caused Jasmine to become blunt, assertive and rebellious during her adolescence as she started to resent her role as a princess. With each passing year, Jasmine became more frustrated with all the traditions her role demanded her to uphold, including being forced to remain within the palace at all times, forced to marry for political gain rather than love, and being valued only for her beauty rather than her individuality.

The girl's feelings were bottled up until, eventually, Jasmine could bear no more and rejected her position as princess altogether. However, she was quickly introduced to the harshness outside the palace life and when Aladdin was arrested, she forced herself to embrace her princess role again in hopes of saving her new friend, showcasing that she puts the needs of others before her own. When Aladdin was supposedly executed, the devastated Jasmine decided to use the little power she would have as future queen consort to get rid of all the corruption within Agrabah's elite, starting with Jafar.

When her father finally agreed to abolish the outdated laws, Jasmine was free from the old repressive customs and as such she developed a new ambition: to take an active role in her community. Jasmine is later shown to be very much a ruler of Agrabah alongside her father, instead of merely sitting around on the sidelines. She takes part in most political disputes and garners an amount of respect equal to her father. This makes her a trailblazer for women's rights in Agrabah as she will be the one-to-one day rule her nation with Aladdin as her consort.

Strong-willed and defiant, Jasmine is not afraid to speak her mind, nor will she hesitate to stand up for what she believes is right. Her open resentment towards Agrabah's outdated laws, and her belief that people should be judged solely by their character rather than their background, shows that she is progressive. Jasmine is also a free spirit. She spent most of her life isolated from people, much like the birds caged up in the beginning of the film, but during the A Whole New World sequence, she is just like the freed birds, finally being able to be her true self, and to soar to her heart's content.

In addition, Jasmine has a strong sense of independence. Upon finding out who Aladdin really was, she became outraged by how unfair it is that they cannot be together. She does not want to sacrifice her heart's desire and wants nothing more than to live her life on her own terms without interference from anybody. She demands to be treated like a person and does not hesitate to put people in their place when they treat her as anything less. Despite that, she approves of righteous authority when she feels it is necessary. When the guards arrested Aladdin, Jasmine revealed herself and commanded them to let him go. She did not hesitate to use her status as the princess to get the men to release him, and was very firm to the guards to the point where she knocked down their attempt to question her. This shows that Jasmine is direct, decisive and bold.

Jasmine is also remarkably intelligent. She is known to be quick-witted, tactical, pragmatic and resourceful. She primarily displays her intelligence through cunning and artfulness. An example of this is in the episode "The Vapor Chase", where she quickly figured out how to defeat the smoke demon Sootinai. She is also very shrewd and an excellent judge of character. This mentality allowed her to see the goodness in Aladdin, despite his background as a street urchin. Moreover, she was not only able to weed out "Prince Ali's" intentions, but also quickly deduce his true identity and trick him into revealing it. In the same vein, Jasmine was able to see through Jafar's feigned sympathy when he told her he supposedly executed Aladdin. In "Garden of Evil", she was able to see the humanity in the plant creature Arbutus and realize that he sees plant life as sacred for the same reason she sees human life as sacred, whereas others assumed that he was a soulless monster. Unlike other Disney Princesses, Jasmine is fully aware of her sex appeal and is known to cleverly use it to her advantage when she needs to. Indeed, her emotional intelligence, shrewdness and sex appeal not only prove that she is cunning, but also a talented actress. A prominent example of this occurred when Jafar took over Agrabah; when Aladdin tried to steal back the lamp, she took advantage of Jafar's lust for her by seducing him to cover for Aladdin. Another example of her acting skills is when she pretended to be Aladdin's insane sister in order to fool an unhinged vendor that tried to amputate her.

Although she appears meek, Jasmine is fiery and can carry a commanding and sometimes downright menacing presence. The most famous example is when she called out the Sultan, Jafar and "Ali" for having the audacity to dismiss her agency before she reminded them that she is not a prize to be won. Another example is how she marched right up to Jafar to get in his face about Aladdin's arrest; the princess wasted no time on pleasantries, demanding answers and admitting no resistance, successfully intimidating the Grand Vizier. Even when Jafar took over Agrabah and took Jasmine as his slave, the girl remained feisty and refused to comply with any of his demands, showcasing that Jasmine has an iron will that is not easily dominated. Although she was visibly horrified when Jafar revealed he intends to use his last wish to strip her off her free will and make her love him. Nevertheless, Jasmine is incredibly brave as showcased when she refused to bow to an all-powerful Jafar, prompting him to force her to bow by means of sorcery. Another example is how quick she was to aid Aladdin in the final battle against Jafar by grabbing hold of the latter's snake staff, despite knowing she is no match for him in a fight.

However, Jasmine's attitude often put her at odds with her father and other members of the elite, who were content with sticking to the status quo and expressed frustration with her refusal to do the same. She has been something of an outcast amongst royalty as a result, so she developed a standoffish nature and sometimes acts incredibly stubborn as a defense mechanism. More comically, releasing Rajah on those who annoy her is another defense mechanism for which she has become infamous.

Jasmine is also incredibly selfless and, as previously mentioned, she puts the needs of others before her own. This is especially highlighted when she gave up a chance for freedom from royalty to save Aladdin, being more concerned for his well-being than any consequences she would face for running away. In "Bad Mood Rising", Jasmine explains that she rules under the philosophy that, "A princess knows the needs of the people outweigh her own".

On the more negative aspects of her character, Jasmine can sometimes be too fussy and impulsive. She was willing to leave the palace without knowing the difference in customs between royalty and commoners; this is shown by her donating an apple to a child and being confused when the vendor demanded that she pay for it. She also has difficulty admitting when she is wrong, although she does know when she is beat, showing that while she is stubborn, she is not arrogant. In "Do the Rat Thing", she took offense when Aladdin declared that she didn't know what it's like to be a "street rat", despite the fact that he was right.

Physical appearance

Princess Jasmine is a slender young Arabian woman of average height and incredible beauty. She has light brown skin, high cheekbones, red lips, brown eyes, aquiline nose and straight, lush jet black hair reaching her thighs.

Default Outfit: Jasmine's casual outfit was designed to be simple, resembling that of Arabian Harem women. She wears a sky blue (later turquoise) bedlah top that reveals her midriff and navel with sewn-in off-the-shoulder straps, matching salwar pants with a light-blue V-shaped waistline and golden, curled shoes with brown soles. Her hairstyle resembles a cobra and is worn in a ponytail in two sections with matching teal bands and ending in a small swirl with this outfit. She wears a turquoise headband which is centered with a sapphire with a gold border adorned into it. She also dons two large golden earrings completely covering her ears and a matching necklace.

Slave Jasmine: When Jafar takes control of Agrabah for a short while, he makes Jasmine wear red salwar pants with a matching bandeau bikini top, both made of silk, with several golden accessories, such as a snake armlet on her right arm and triangular, gold earrings. Her hair is also tied in a high ponytail, with a golden seemingly metallic band. Jafar later creates a gold tiara for Jasmine from her shackles when he decides to make her his queen.

Abilities

Intuitive Aptitude: Jasmine is quite intuitive and intelligent, and has described herself as a fast learner. After one demonstration from Aladdin, she was able to pole vault across a rooftop. Jasmine has been able to manipulate foes and read people for their true intentions, such as Prince Achmed, Jafar, Mirage or even Chaos, showing an ability to uncover lies and secrets. This is prominently seen during her night with "Prince Ali" when she suspected that he is the same boy that she met in the marketplace. After spending more time together, she tricks him into confirming her suspicions, proving that she is smart enough to outsmart a street-wise street rat.

Acting: Jasmine is a remarkably talented actress, being able to improvise her way through any situation without breaking character. She is able to use her acting skills to let others think they have the upper hand when in reality she is the one in control of the situation, such as when she pretended to be easy for "Ali" only to call him out when he let his guard down, when she seduced Jafar to the point where she kissed him without ever breaking character and when she induced overwhelming sympathy into king Mamood so he would release her.

Animal Empathy: With her kind-hearted nature, Jasmine has shown a remarkable affinity to most animals she encounters. Most noticeably is the massive Rajah, who is undeniably loyal to her and acts more akin to a house pet with her. Other animals, such as Iago in their adventures together and even random fishes, tend to take a liking to her.

Multilingualism: As an aspiring queen, Jasmine can speak several unspecified languages, as it was briefly mentioned in Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: As seen in the television series, as well as Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Jasmine eventually garnered skills in combat, being able to hold her own in battle against thieves and other antagonists. She is rather unmerciful in battle, as seen in "The Secret of Dagger Rock", "The Great Rift", and "The Vapor Chase" In the episode "A Sultan Worth His Salt", Jasmine is shown to be skilled in the use of weaponry for combat. Her skills are arguably best showcased in "Forget Me Lots", where she (under magical amnesia) easily battled and nearly defeated Aladdin, as well as numbers of other characters. Both that episode and "The Wind Jackals of Mozenrath" feature a whip as her personal weapon of choice, with which she displays exceptional skill in an offense, defense, and even non-combat ingenuity. As well as a variety of acrobatic feats, like jumping off a magic carpet high in the air and squeezing your way around the sides of buildings without hurting yourself.

Physical Strength: Despite her appearance, Jasmine has impressive physical strength, as she could push a large statue in Aladdin and the King of Thieves, and a boulder in "My Fair Aladdin" and beat a thug with a punch in Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

Horse Riding: In Disney Princess Enchanted Tales, Jasmine notes that she has been riding horses since before she could even walk.

Storyline:

Bondage Gear (For BDSM Scenes. If she is kidnapped or to be treated like a harem slave. She will acknowledge either of these in use):

Ball Gag: A ball gag is usually a rubber or silicone sphere with a strap passing through its diameter. The most common diameter is 1.75 inches (44 mm), but other sizes can be found. The ball is strapped into the mouth behind the teeth, with the straps going around the head to secure it in place. They are used as a sign of control by the dominant. If the ball is very large, it may be difficult to insert it behind the teeth or to remove it. The wearer can still be heard, but it renders their speech completely unintelligible, distorts their facial features, and causes drooling if the wearer attempts to talk.

Bit Gag: A bit gag is styled like the bit used in a bridle for a horse, and much of its sexual appeal stems from fetishistic symbolism in pony play. It consists of a bar that is held in place in the wearer's mouth by straps or other devices. Unlike the metal bit that is most common in horse bridles, the bar of a bit gag is usually a soft rubber cylinder.[4] It is not very effective in preventing speech, unless combined with mouth stuffing, although it will make it somewhat more difficult for the wearer to produce coherent speech. Occasionally, reins are attached. Because of the possibility of injury to the lips, the bit gag is not suitable for rough play.

OTM Gag: The over-the-mouth gag (sometimes abbreviated to OTM), is often described in fiction (particularly crime serials) as preventing the subject from speaking through the use of soft materials such as scarves or bandannas. The long scarf or bandanna is pulled over the subject's mouth and tied at the back of his/her head. In practice, it does not silence the subject very effectively. Images of OTM gags usually applied to women, had been prevalent since the film serials of the early 1900s. For this reason, the OTM gag is associated with the typical damsel in distress. OTM gags are often combined with stuff gags to make them more effective in silencing the wearer.

Muzzle Gag: A muzzle gag works in a similar way as an over-the-mouth gag, only that they are usually made of leather, are fastened around the head with buckles and straps, and cover the lower part of the face. It is so called because it resembles a muzzle used on animals, with a flexible pad that straps over the mouth, and sometimes also around the cheeks and chin. Muzzle gags have a strong psychological effect on some people, because of the association of being restrained in a way generally associated with animals. Restricting the movement of the jaw and covering the cheeks can both increase the efficiency of a gag. It is difficult to draw the line between a muzzle gag and a head harness with an attached gag.

Penis Gag: A penis gag is a gag that has a bulge resembling a phallus (erect penis) or a nipple that is placed into the mouth to enable the wearer to suck on it in a manner similar to an adult pacifier. The use of a phallic shape is intended to give it an erotic connotation, but it may be a large knob — similar to a ball gag — or may be inflatable. The pecker gag may be wide and flat and large enough almost to fill the mouth, intended to depress the tongue.

Ring Gag: A ring gag is similar to a ball gag, except that the ball is replaced by a hollow ring. The ring reduces the risk of choking and allows access to the mouth. Oral sex may be performed if the ring is big enough.

Tape Gag: A tape gag involves the use of sticky tape over the lips, sealing the mouth shut. Commonly used types of tape include duct tape, gaffer tape, and PVC tape from two to three inches wide.

Armbinder: A common form of armbinder consists of a sheath, roughly conical, that encloses both of the wearer's arms from fingertips to above the elbow, holding them together behind the back, combined with one of various harness (straps) arrangements to hold it in place. The sheath is commonly of latex or leather which itself typically covers the arms from the fingertips to above the elbows, and is closed and tightened with a zipper, lacing, or sometimes both; the sheath is frequently supplemented with straps around the wrists and the elbows or upper arms.

Bondage Hood: A bondage hood (also called a gimp mask or bondage mask) is a fetishistic hood. Full-faced hoods are typically used for the practice of head bondage, and to restrain and objectify the wearer through depersonalization, disorientation and/or sensory deprivation.
