Name: Celestia Race: Anthropomorphic pony (alicorn) Female gender Occupation: Co-Princess Reign Equestria Eyes: Violet Mane/Tail: Turquoise, pink, light blue, green and blue.

Princess Celestia is an Alicorn and Ruler of Equestria along with her younger sister Princess Luna. In addition to being in charge of raising the sun, she is Twilight Sparkle's mentor, whom she addresses as "my faithful student." Many liken her to her maternal image, as Twilight Sparkle does her best to impress her with her studies. She is the aunt of Princess Cadance and Prince Blueblood.

Description History Reign of Equestria Princess Celestia is introduced in the prologue of the first episode, appearing in a book with medieval-style drawings with a narration that says "Two noble sisters who reigned together and created harmony in the region", and that "the eldest used her Unicorn power to bring the dawn. The youngest brought the moon at dusk." The narration continues: "This is how they gave balance to the kingdom and its subjects, all the varieties of ponies. But over time, the youngest became jealous, the ponies played on the day that the eldest gave them, but they slept during the beautiful night. One day fatally, the youngest refused to lower the moon to usher in the day, the older sister wanted to reason with her, but the youngest's bitterness transformed her into an evil dark mare: Nightmare Moon. [...] With regret, the The elder sister used the most powerful magic known to ponies: the Elements of Harmony. Using the magic of those elements she defeated her younger sister and sent her to the moon forever. The older sister became responsible for the sun and the moon and the harmony has endured in Equestria for generations." Continuing with the prologue, Twilight Sparkle reads a prophecy that says "on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will release it and bring eternal night", although Spike rejects this, arguing that "it's just a pony tale". The day Nightmare Moon returns is the thousandth day of the summer celebration, so Princess Celestia sends Twilight to oversee preparations for the celebration, which will be held in Ponyville, and encourages Twilight that "she has to stop read those dusty books" and make friends. The events of the first and second episodes revolve around Twilight and her new friends' attempt to defeat Nightmare Moon by finding and using the Elements of Harmony, while Nightmare Moon attempts to stop them in various ways. Celestia was expected to appear at the Ponyville pavilion, but she disappears and Nightmare Moon appears in her place. Celestia does not appear again until Nightmare Moon is defeated and turned into Princess Luna by Twilight and her friends. Princess Celestia offers her sister to reign together again, and through tears, she accepts. Before ruling Equestria Data about Celestia's history is mentioned in The Return of Harmony, Part 1. In the episode, Celestia tells Twilight and her friends that before, she and Princess Luna fought against Discord; a cruel dragon with animal parts, which ruled Equestria, keeping it in a state of restlessness and discontent. Celestia continues, describing how miserable the earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasi were, plus it was she and Luna who discovered the Elements of Harmony and used them against Discord to turn him into stone. Discord's spell was broken because, as Celestia explains, "Luna and she (Celestia) were no longer connected to the elements" because now Twilight and her friends were the ones who had the connection to the elements. Summer Celebration. The celebration of summer was mentioned for the first time in the 1st episode. Twilight reads about the legend of the "Mare in the Moon" who is determined to return and bring eternal night with her on "the longest day of the thousandth year" since she was defeated, which is also on the day of the thousandth year of the Summer Celebration. Princess Celestia sends Twilight to oversee preparations for the celebration in Ponyville, where that year's celebration will be. Preparations are in charge of Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy, who are in charge of the food, weather, decorations and music, respectively. Twilight oversees the preparations in that order, and eventually finds Pinkie Pie, whom she met very briefly earlier, who throws her a welcome party at the library where Twilight is supposed to live. Spike reminds Twilight that the ponies must stay awake so they can witness Princess Celestia raising the Sun. Later, at the Ponyville pavilion, the mayor gives a short speech and introduces Princess Celestia, but she disappears and Nightmare Moon appears in her place. The Summer Celebration is seen again in Twilight Sparkle's memories during Friendship Chronicles. Twilight describes the event as "the most incredible and wonderful" she has ever seen, which makes her want to study magic as much as she can. The event itself takes place in Canterlot, where eight royal guards play a fanfare for Princess Celestia, who enters the scene, raising the sun behind her. In the two-part fourth season premiere, the Celebration is introduced and mentioned. Unlike previous celebrations, this does not represent the defeat of Nightmare Moon but the return of Princess Luna. In The Upside Down of the Summer Sun, the celebration is held for the last time, as Celestia and Luna do not feel the need to continue it after retiring, and Twilight creates a new holiday to replace it: the "Festival of the Two Sisters".

Overseeing Twilight Sparkle Studios Princess Celestia addresses Twilight Sparkle as "my faithful student" in the first episode, and Twilight is very proud of this. At the end of the second episode, Celestia assigns Twilight the task of staying in Ponyville with her friends and sending her a weekly report on her studies about "the magic of friendship." Personality. He is kind and humble. She wants Twilight as her daughter, as she has impressed her since her move to Ponyville.
