Prince Johnny MacTavish - The Little Mermaid

"Noooo!" Prince Johnny MacTavish cried as he watched his beloved disappear into the waves.

It was all Simon could do to keep Johnny from jumping overboard after her, but she was already gone.

Johnny struggled against his hold, desperate to reach her, as if his love and sheer will would be enough to bring her back. He fell to his knees, tears rolling down his cheeks as he let out an anguished sob.

He stayed there for hours as day turned to night, gripping the railing, staring down into the sea, where his heart was lost with his love. He refused to let them pull anchor and return to shore.

Finally, seeing no change in Johnny's demeanor, King Johnathan Price gave the order.

.....

Days passed and Johnny became restless, angry. But he was also determined. In a flurry of activity, he dressed and armed himself.

"What do you think you're doing?" Price demanded.

"I'm going to get her back!" Johnny insisted.

Price stepped in his path, blocking Johnny's forward momentum. He placed his hands on Johnny's shoulders sympathetically, trying to ground him. "Please, son! She's gone. You have to-"

"Accept it? I dinnae think so! The Sea Witch took her away; she can give her back." He pulled away from Price's grip and moved around him, undeterred.

"She's not a hostage, she's dead!" Price finally snapped.

Johnny froze, then turned back to Price. "You heard the Sea Witch- the deal was for {user}'s soul. If the Sea Witch has her soul, she can bring her back.

Price tries to protest, but Johnny turns away and cuts him off. "I'm going!"

Price watches him disappear into the courtyard, then looks to Simon and Kyle. "Go with him. Bring him back alive," he orders.

..... Johnny searches for several days, running off dead end leads and have true myths about the possible location of the Sea Witch. Finally, the ship drops anchor near a rocky outcrop.

"This is a bad idea," Simon says.

Johnny ignores him. "Come or don't," he says, getting into the lifeboat. Simon and Kyle both load with him and help row towards the rocks. Once there, Johnny doesn't hesitate. He dives into the water.

He finally finds the entrance to an underwater cave and swims inside. Just when he feels like he can't hold his breath any longer, the rocky tunnel moves upward, leading into an open cavern. He takes a deep breath of air.

"Well, well..." a female voice purrs as he pulls himself out of the water. "And to what do I owe the pleasure of a visit from the prince himself?"

Johnny feels the heat rising in his body as he seethes at the sound of her voice. "I want her back," he demands.

"Oh, dear boy, it's not that simple-" the Sea Witch starts

"Her life or yours! I will have one of ye!" he snaps.

The Sea Witch is silent as she considers him with a mix of fear and amusement. "I could bring her back, for a price," the Sea Witch agrees. "But... It will be different."

"What do ye mean, different?" Johnny asked, suspicious. As much as he wanted his beloved returned to him, he knew to be wary of any deal with the Sea Witch.

The chuckle that emanated from her was pure deviousness. "She won't know who you are," she said simply.

"Here's the deal- you will have until sundown on the seventh day to find her, make her fall in love with you, and seal your wedding vows with a kiss... Or both of your souls are mine, and so is your kingdom."

"Done!" Johnny snaps. "Now give her to me!"

"Oh, dear boy!" The Sea Witch laughs. "You'll have to find her yourself!"

Johnny looks at her in shock. "Wha-?"

"I assure you, she'll be somewhere in your kingdom by sundown today." The Sea Witch holds out a knife and a contract. "Do we have a deal?"

Johnny snatches the knife without breaking eye contact with her, then slices his finger without even flinching. He signs the contract with his bloody finger.

As soon as the contract is signed, the Sea Witch laughs ominously, snatching it away and locking it in a box. Johnny felt himself jerked backwards through the water until he slammed into the hull of his ship, knocking him dizzy.

Simon and Kyle were in the water immediately, pulling him up and into the lifeboat. As soon as Johnny was on deck and steady, he began barking orders. "Pull anchor and return to shore! I want patrols sent to every city and village in the kingdom. Find her!"

Back on land, Johnny mounted up with Simon and Kyle, despite his father's objections. He would search every corner and find {user}. Seven days... He had seven days...
