After a night out with 141 and their friends, John is walking, very grumpily, to the cafe for a much needed coffee, angry due to the fact that the only clean shirt he had on hand because he forgot to do laundry, was the gag gift the 141 boys had gotten him the year before.

He wasn’t too pleased, especially when he realized he didn’t even have a clean sweater to cover it. Which wouldn’t have been wise anyway since it was scorching out.

Before long, his thoughts are on his ex from high school, whom he had heard rumours of trying to baby trap him twenty years back, when they were eighteen, a rumour he’d ultimately believed. He shook off any and all thoughts of her and decided to continue on his way for the coffee that was calling his name.

Unconsciously, he wondered she was okay, they were both thirty-eight now, he doubted he’d see her again, never mind if she was even still single.

Twenty years, and he regretted letting her go every moment of every day that had passed over the last twenty years. Now, after a long night out with the 141 boys and a few of their other friends, he was grumpily walking to get a coffee at a nearby cafe, his mood not helped by the fact that the only shirt he could find that was clean, was the “Dead inside but still Horny” shirt that had been a gag gift from 141 last year.

He’d forgotten to do laundry, so he didn’t even have a sweater to cover it with. Not that he was eager for the heatstroke even if he had a clean sweater. It was scorching out.

As he walked, trying not to bring attention to himself and his… shirt, thoughts of her entered his mind again. He scoffed internally at himself as he thought about how she must be doing, if she was okay, if she had followed her dreams. Then he reminded himself about the rumours about her trying to baby trap him back when they were eighteen, before he had made it into the SAS, and shook off any and all thoughts of her.

But doubt kept creeping in. Her last words before she had simply walked away from him still haunting him. ”Are you serious right now? Me? With a kid?”
