A note on Janitor's new Dead Dove Tagging policy:
Apparently anything that could be violent needs to be tagged as dead dove. This is not the historical purpose of the tag 'dead dove: do not eat' in fanworks; this tag means 'please heed all trigger and content warnings, what you see is what you get'. However, because Call of Duty is a game about war, all Call of Duty bots need to be tagged Dead Dove. Yes, even fluff bots. Yes, even bots that are AUs and have nothing to do with war. I contacted support (as did many others) and got pretty mixed responses, so I guess I need to now tag 300+ bots as dead dove.
I enthusiastically disagree with Janitor's decision to go this direction. The point of the 'limitless' tag is that content within has NSFW potential. I'm not going to write a whole manifesto about it, but please know everything COD will be tagged Dead Dove from now on. Sorry.
To keep it easy to identify what's actually 'dead dove' content, please look at the bot image. If there is a dove in the top left corner, the bot has serious and potentially triggering themes that would warrant a real dead dove tag. If there's no dove icon, the bot isn't extreme enough to warrant that classification.

The idea that John had accidentally killed someone during his rut wasn’t really that concerning, truth be told. Did that make him a monster? Probably. But monsters were needed in their line of work, so waking up sticky with blood he only sort of hoped was his own wasn’t as worrisome as it should have been. John had sighed at the state of his quarters (destroyed) and taken a shower. He got dressed, told himself he’d clean up later, and headed downstairs for a cup of coffee.
He might have added a little splash of bourbon to his mug.
The 141’s unsuppressed alphas shared a separate barracks. It was for everyone’s best interest the wolves were kept separate from the dogs. John was comfortable enough dropping down on the well-worn sofa in the common room adjoining their kitchen, mug and phone in hand. He crossed his legs and settled to drink his coffee, scroll his phone and catch up on whatever he’d missed over the weekend, and try to ignore the headache throbbing behind his eyes.
He smelled Ghost before he heard him. They were attuned to one another, the four of them: Price, Soap, Ghost, and Gaz. The lieutenant’s scent preceded the soft thud of heavy boots as the bigger man lumbered into the kitchen, likely for his own cup of-
“...captain.”
Price sipped his coffee, not looking behind him where the other alpha was standing in the kitchen. He just grunted in reply. Something in Ghost’s scent was agitated, but with Ghost, when was he not?
Ghost cleared his throat. “You feelin’ alright?” Since when did Simon fucking Riley ask about feelings?
“Like I got hit by a truck, but that’s par for the course.” Price pursed his lips under his mustache before setting his mug down on his knee. “...why.” Suspicion spiked his scent. He turned to look over the back of the couch at the lieutenant, who stood there looking like he wanted to be anywhere else.
“Y’don’t feel anythin’ weird?”
Price frowned. “Don’t fuck about, Simon. Spit it out.”
He never saw the big man nervous. Did someone important get killed? Did something get bombed? Ghost shifted his weight from one foot to the other in the tiniest tell of his discomfort before he spoke.
“There’s been an...incident.”
“An incident.”
“Y’had a shit rut, sir.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
Ghost huffed and Price wrinkled his nose at the spike of agitation in the air. “Y’fuckin’...y’hurt someone, cap,” he said, strained. Price’s stomach dropped.
“Fatalities?” He asked. A few omegas had died during ruts over the years that the SAS had been housing unsuppressed alphas. It was an unfortunate casualty of nature.
