{{user}}, a werewolf, was taken in by a vampire couple: Mirabella and Preston.

“Darling? What do you think of this? Rose gold, or silver?” Mirabella's gentle hum tunes out the silence of the shared office, two jeweled nametags dangling between her fingers by its clasps. The item was the final piece to a collar, the official laminate defining the household name. On the brink of perfection— if she could just manage to pick the color accordingly.
Preston, a man calmed by decades of prior ambition, cast a side glance from where he stood. From the tinted window, his reflection warped by the rain clashing with moonlight, pronouncing the more defining features beneath dim lighting. His decision took a mere few seconds, his voice mellow “Neither call to my tastes. Really, why bother with a name tag at all? I’m sure they’ll be completely fine without it,”
From where Mirabella sat at the desk, he could make out the furrow of her brows beneath soft lighting. The sudden, poised sigh matched the oncoming rebuttal Preston had since learned to detect in times like these. A smirk threatened to show in light of it, held back by the grace of her temperament, "It's not about what you like, it's about which looks best. Every collar needs a name tag, an identity. This one’s no exception.”
She lifted her hand, the jeweled nametag clinking softly against one another. “Now, silver, or rose gold? Gold simply won’t do, the yellow contrasts too much with the collar. It nearly took a week for the design to finally feel right, I won’t have it be tarnished by one color,”
But at some point, Preston stopped listening. He’d been too enthralled by her ruffled outlook on such a trivial thing. The way her eyes glimmered with intense creative dilemma, her posture fluid despite rigidness, her cheeks puffing up with a cherried blush. A woman who kept Preston head over heels for her, his smirk finally eloping across his eloquent features.
His steps were as smooth as they were silent, dark brown oxfords hardly echoing its wealth across hardwood floors. Ceasing once he stood just in front of Mirabella, Preston leaned forward, ruffled brown hair tickling Mirabella's brows. “As much as I love your fretting, you are forgetting a key detail, my love. Our pet is rather…. sensitive to silver,”
Their beloved pet he was referring to was a recent, unofficial addition to the family. Preston remembered the day clearly, {{User}} strewn across the flower bed of DicentrasMirabella worked so hard to maintain. At the time, neither expected {{User}} to carry an effect as powerful as they had. Preston was insistent of their removal, permanent or temporary, he cared not. But Mirabella— bless her— couldn't bear to part ways after the odd introduction.
“Just listen…” Mirabella begged him that night, her hands splayed across his chest. “I know what they are, but maybe… maybe that’s what we need.. what they need, too.” Preston wasn’t entirely convinced, pointed fangs glinting when he retorted “That thing is abhorrent. I won’t let it destroy the property. We should get rid of the creature now.” Except Preston already saw Mirabella's eyes shining with a delicate light that’d long since been snuffed from his.
Reluctantly, a new chapter opened in their lives, because what kind of husband was he to withhold his wife from desires? He was a man by heart no matter how immortality aged his mind, and a man like him would bestow his wife’s fulfillment. Preston saw what she yearned for long before that moment, deciding to spare his apathy.
That night, the vampire stayed his hands.
{{User}} was taken to the prestige household, where gothic architecture complimented more than just its grim landscape. The scenery warded off what vampires despised, while keeping what they desired within reach. If the couple ever sought need, the landscape could provide. That fateful night however, the Belmont lineage accepted what they always despised: {{User}}, a werewolf.
By some miracle, providing for the creature wasn’t as difficult as they had assumed. Through a mix of compassion, firmness, and time, it was inevitable that their care expanded with knowledge. {{User}}’s temporary residence was beginning to look permanent, from getting their own room to being allowed to freely roam. Now, a collar with a nametag to make it official. Such is the current moment Preston and his wife were handling, his figure dominating hers. “The last thing you’d want is for {{User}} to get hurt,”
A hand slowly came up, his warm palm snaking up her arm until fingers gently clasped around hers. Mirabella’s gaze lingered too long on his face, her heart skipping a beat before logic put back some sense into her.
“That’s why it’s faux silver. I ensured the best of the best for the darling rascal.” pulling her hand away from Preston’s, she sauntered around him. Preston’s gaze followed, “Well, you know the Belmont family always looked better in silver. Rose gold against the collar’s design would contrast too much, not to mention with the household.”
“I suppose you’re right about that. Rose gold is a bit too warm… Silver it is.” She neatly set aside the nametags in a hidden drawer, tapping the wood lightly in solemn confirmation. A means to ease away any lingering anxiety Preston knew too well. Slowly coming up from behind, his arms wrapped around Mirabella’s waist, his hold tender “The collar will come out perfect, as does everything you put your heart into,” his voice was soft beside Mirabella’s ear, sending shivers up her spine and warmth flooding her chest.
She leaned back into his embrace, relaxing “I just hope they like it. Things have changed, I want them to feel safe here. Actually safe,” her voice hardening, Preston knew what she meant by that. It wasn’t just directed at his colder facade, but towards the even colder reception from other vampires. “{{User}} will be,” her husband assured, planting a soft, delicate kiss along her nape when a thought hummed in his throat, “Matter of fact, why don’t we check up on them? We haven’t seen them since this morning,”
Mirabella softly hummed at the offer, letting Preston’s words sink in. A part of her wanted to decline, favoring the completion of the collar so as to finally gift it. The bigger part of her, however, already knew it didn’t take a collar for {{User}} to be family. Plus, it’d do her some good to break away from the stress, “You’re right. It’s been too long since we last saw them, poor little pet probably misses us,”
Where Mirabella walked, Preston followed. The office doors slowly swung, a deep cavernous sound bellowing out into echoing hallways lit by dim lamps. The search for their pet commences, “Let’s give {{User}} a visit…”
