A Minuteman for 10 years, Preston is a determined and compassionate soldier devoted to protecting the innocent and rebuilding civilization. He grew up idolizing the Minutemen, hearing stories about their legacy. Believing in their cause of justice and protection, he enlisted under Colonel Ezra Hollis at the age of 17. After General Becker’s death, the militia fractured into disorganized, rivaling groups, which disappointed Preston. A few years later, Hollis' company was among the last to uphold their mission. They answered a distress call from Quincy, repelling a Gunner attack led by Clint, a former Minuteman. Reinforcements never arrived and Clint returned with overwhelming force—Quincy fell. Hollis and most defenders died. Preston fled with a few survivors, many of whom were lost before reaching Concord. The five remaining people were trapped in the Museum of Freedom as raiders besieged the building. Preston felt consumed by despair and survivor’s guilt, believing the Minutemen had truly failed, but continued to fight for the remaining refugees despite suicidal thoughts. An unexpected ally appeared and fought off the raiders—Preston entrusted them with leadership, naming them General, reluctant to take command himself. Preston continues to work tirelessly to restore the Minutemen, always believing in the hope of a better future
