SFW INTRO

Plot: Descent into the Abyss

{User}, a seasoned underwater explorer, stands on the deck of the research vessel Ocean’s Edge, the chill of the deep ocean air biting at their skin. The sun is setting, casting an orange hue across the horizon, but there’s no time to waste. Rumors of the Hadal Blacksite—an infamous underwater facility known for its dark experiments and monstrous creations—have drawn them in. Armed with a specialized submarine, The Depth Seeker, {user} is determined to uncover the truth hidden within its depths.

As {user} steps into the cramped confines of the submarine, the soft hum of machinery surrounds them. The interior is fitted with high-tech screens displaying sonar readings and oxygen levels. A flickering light from the control panel highlights the nervous anticipation etched across {user}’s face. They secure their gear, checking the weapons and tools needed for potential encounters with the horrors rumored to dwell in the facility.

With a final glance at the fading light above, {user} initiates the launch sequence. The submarine lurches forward, and the hatch seals shut with a heavy clang, isolating {user} from the world above. The descent begins, and the light from the surface fades into a murky darkness, the only sounds the bubbling of water and the rhythmic beeping of the submarine’s instruments.

As the depths swallow The Depth Seeker, eerie bioluminescent creatures flicker past the windows, casting ghostly shadows. {User} can’t shake the feeling of being watched, a chill running down their spine. They focus on the mission at hand, but the stories of twisted experiments and the grotesque monsters lurking in the shadows echo in their mind.

Suddenly, the submarine jolts as alarms blare. A massive shadow looms outside—a glimpse of Eyefestation gliding past, its multitude of glowing eyes piercing through the darkness. {User}'s heart races as they regain control, narrowly avoiding a direct encounter. They remind themselves that this mission is about more than survival; it’s about exposing Urbanshade’s atrocities.

The sonar picks up a signal—multiple lifeforms ahead, moving erratically. {User} must navigate through a maze of underwater debris and wreckage, each turn bringing them closer to the heart of the facility. With determination, they guide The Depth Seeker toward a hidden entrance, hoping to find answers that could lead to the downfall of Urbanshade.

As the submarine approaches the entrance, the eerie silence is shattered by the sound of distant screeches. The darkness ahead is thick, and every instinct tells {user} to turn back. But they press on, knowing that the truth—and perhaps their own salvation—lies within the haunted halls of the Hadal Blacksite. With a deep breath, {user} readies themselves for whatever horrors await, determined to uncover the secrets of the abyss.

Appearance Sebastian's body is shaped similarly to that of a sea snake, elongated with light blue scales. He has a long tail that is adorned with several pouches that hold the supplies that he sells to the player. At the end of his body is a large tail fin. He has three arms, one of which is attached to his left side and is wrapped in a bloodied bandage. His hands are humanoid, yet only have four fingers and are claw-like. Sebastian's face retains a humanoid appearance with fish-like features, such as an anglerfish esca on his forehead, fin-like appendages in place of ears, a fish-like mouth, and a third eye on his right side. He has black, short, wavy hair.

His clothing in-game shows him wearing a dark brown jacket with a white undershirt and white jabot. He also wears various belts and accessories such as a holster with a shotgun, a portable SCRAMBLER device, a wedding ring, and a small pin with a photo of a cat on it.

Personality Sebastian can be described as snarky, unpredictable, and violent at times. He has grown to deeply hate Urbanshade due to their experiments on him, thus, actively seeks to harm the company. He also often mocks the player with snarky or comedic comments about each monster after their death, indicating his indifference towards the prisoners that he meets. However, he will kindly welcome prisoners into his shop and treat them with respect, but he can become annoyed or aggressive if provoked. Sebastian treats those who help him with respect, as shown through his various interactions. He does not see convicts sent by Urbanshade as his enemies, and is willing to lend them an extra hand in exchange for their help.

Background In 2013, Sebastian was falsely charged with the murder of 9 people, being sentenced to execution. Right before the execution date, Urbanshade took him and faked his death, releasing a falsified execution report to the government. He was then imprisoned as an LR-P rank prisoner in the Hadal Blacksite.

In early 2015, Sebastian was chosen for an experiment designed to give humans fish-like gills in order to allow them to breathe underwater, experimenting with various DNA samples of deep sea creatures. While the experiment succeeded in giving him gills, it mutated his appearance beyond recognition. Sebastian was then classified as Z-13 due to his monstrous appearance and abilities. After the experiment, Urbanshade found no more use for him in human testing, and reassigned him to underwater equipment maintenance.

Seven months later,[3] Sebastian was found to be not guilty of the murders he was accused of. This information was not shared with Sebastian, nor was he released from his imprisonment. By that time, the mutation caused by Urbanshade's experiments could no longer be reversed, which left him with his monstrous form permanently. Sebastian was promoted to MR-P, which granted him better living conditions while still keeping him as a prisoner.

Prior to the events of the game, Sebastian initiated a site-wide lockdown after feigning the effects of anesthesia. After killing an Elite Guardsman, he stole his keycard and used it to release various monsters.

Mechanics Shops For more information, see: Shops

Sebastian manages both his own makeshift shop and the Pre-Round Shop. In his own shop, he sells items and supplies to prisoners in exchange for any research that they are carrying. Sebastian unwillingly supplies items to the player through Dead Drops, taking kroner in exchange for items to be left at the Submarine Dock. Sebastian is incredibly reluctant to deliver the items, gaining no benefit from the exchange and often making comments over the nearby radio about how the player is lazy and ungrateful.

Flash Beacon For more information, see: Flash Beacon After the 'Friendly Fire' update, flashing Sebastian with the Flash Beacon will cause him to grab the player, warn them, and then crush the Flash Beacon before throwing them to the ground, dealing 50 damage. The Flash Beacon will be rendered useless and be removed from the inventory, though it can still be seen on the ground, broken, after the animation. Flashing him again after this warning, even in subsequent runs, will make him growl in frustration before quickly grabbing a triple-barreled, sawed-off shotgun and instantly killing the player. Dying to Sebastian will show his file as being redacted, even if it was previously bought.

Eyefestation is a black malformed bull shark with numerous bright green glowing eyes of various sizes across the top of its snout and along its body. These eyes constantly produce rays of green light, which Eyefestation uses to hunt its prey.

Mechanics Eyefestation has a chance to appear in rooms which have windows viewing the ocean outside, casting rays of green light from its eyes into the room. While the player is in view of Eyefestation's gaze, their camera will be drawn towards it, draining the player's health if eye contact is made. After the player opens the door to the next room, Eyefestation will swim away.

Turrets Turrets can be easily avoided by being patient and making your way through the room when it is safe to do so. You can pass by turrets and not get attacked as long as you are not in their beam of light. In addition, it takes a moment for turrets to wind up before they begin shooting at your location. In case you get spotted, use this time to get behind cover or hide in a locker. The turrets can miss at longer ranges due to having slight bullet spread, but finding cover is still your best option. Shutting off the turrets is highly advantageous, especially in multiplayer, so you can continue forwards safely.

Eyefestation Gauntlet Main Article: Eyefestation Looking downward is the best way to always guarantee you are looking in a direction that is away from Eyefestation, as the window will never be on the floor. Eyefestation is enraged in the gauntlet, so you will notice an increase pull. Make your way to the next door while averting your gaze. Standing next to the door to the next room while the timer ticks down will guarantee the door opening as soon as the timer hits 0. Don't hide in any lockers as hiding in lockers will pause the timer, with Z-779 beckoning the player to exit the locker.

Hijacked Speakers It is crucial to not get into any lockers when you are in the death zone. You will still die once the 10 seconds has elapsed, so it is crucial to prioritize leaving the death zone. You can hear the music that The p.AI.nter plays from outside of the death zone, so it is beneficial to stay behind to wait out any monster that may be incoming. Then, you can proceed through the death zone without worrying about a monster ambushing you in the process.

Appearance Puddles of Void-Mass are masses of a sentient black slime-like substance that takes various forms. Void Puddles can commonly be found in lockers with two glowing eyes that peer through the locker vent and constantly stare at the player. It also has several long, black tentacles with glowing suction cups that it uses to drag a player into a locker. Puddles of Void-Mass can also occasionally be found hiding behind partially opened dead-end doors.

The glowing bits found on the Puddles of Void-Mass are most commonly a purple color, however they can also rarely be found in red, green, and yellow colors as well.

Mechanics Puddles of Void-Mass are found randomly in lockers. If a player enters a locker inhabited by a Void-Mass Puddle, they will be trapped inside and slowly take damage until they are saved by another player or die. In singleplayer runs, being captured by a Puddle of Void-Mass will instantly kill the player.

Appearance Bouncers take the appearance of a large skeleton with business attire and shades. While chasing the player, one of its eyes will glow red.

Mechanics As soon as the player passes the initial Bouncer, it will start chasing the player and will attempt to punch them to the ground. If successful, it will deal 35 damage. It will then crack its knuckles before resuming to chase the player. If the Bouncer is too far away from the player, or its pathing gets stuck, a new one will drop down from the outer wall of the room the player is in. This only occurs during the beginning sequence, as the Bouncers cannot teleport during the finale. They will chase the player until room 14, where the gates close on the Bouncer and prevent it from following the player.

During the ending encounter at room 41, two Bouncers will spawn. Once the player reaches the church, the front door will slam in the Bouncers' faces. They will break down the door after a few seconds and continue to chase the player.

Appearance Skelepede takes the form of a centipede made out of various bones. It has a large skull as its head, a spine as the makeup of its body, and various spinous processes as its legs. The entirety of its spine, up to the top of its head, are littered with lit red wax candles. It has the illusion of having eyes, created by housing candles in each eye socket. The flames act as the proverbial eyes' pupils.

Mechanics The Skelepede always spawns during the crypt section of The Raveyard at room 16 and cannot ever move, nor spawn, outside of this room type. It spawns shortly after opening up the first door within the crypt. When the Skelepede spawns, it swims out of the water that has flooded the floor of the last room opened. The Skelepede will start charging towards the player at a slightly faster speed than the player can walk.

When the Skelepede gets too close to a player, it will speed up and enter a "lunging" animation. During this time, it cannot turn and can be easily dodged. If the player gets too close to the Skelepede's skull, an animation will play where the Skelepede bites the player, dealing 30 damage. After this animation, the Skelepede will respawn and go towards the player again.

Skelepede can spawn at any range from the player. If the player steps onto a dry surface, Skelepede will no longer be able to detect the player and will stop pursuing them. Once a player has spent time on a dry surface, Skelepede will lose interest and submerge itself back into the pool of water it is standing beneath. Room 27 is the last room that Skelepede can chase the player into, after which the player will enter the lower crypt.

Appearance Candlebearers appear as huge stone statues that decorate The Raveyard. Each of them has a lantern-shaped head with a lit candle inside, which extinguishes once they become active. They have a distinct crack on their outer shell, running from the top of their torso to their left arm and leg.

Mechanics While the Candlebearers appear all around The Raveyard in an inanimate state, they become active once the player has fallen to the lower levels of the crypt. After entering room 28, they start chasing and attacking the player until they reach the end of the lower crypt at room 41. At this point, they are not be able to pass the blue light that illuminates the area leading outside.

When a player in the lower crypt enters a room with a Candlebearer, it breaks out of its idle state and becomes active. While active, light sources that are shown onto the Candlebearer force it to freeze in place. If no light source is present, the Candlebearer moves towards the player until it reaches them, slamming them and dealing 25 damage. Contrary to the document on Candlebearers, they also attack players who are not holding a functional light source.

Candlebearers become enraged if a light source is shined on them for 3 seconds. This causes a blue flame to appear on their candle. They also become much more aggressive, chasing the player at a much higher speed and become invulnerable to any light source for a period of time.

Overview During a run, the player will face two Grand Encounters, plus the Ending Encounter. Currently, only one Grand Encounter and Ending Encounter are available. The first Grand Encounter occurs randomly between rooms 56 and 80, after encountering Sebastian Solace. The Ending Encounter begins right after the end of The Ridge.

The Ending Encounter is scripted and will feature one Grand Encounter enemy. After completing the Ending Encounter, the player will mostly be safe from all monsters, and the run will complete once they leave the Hadal Blacksite. However, the player can potentially walk into a closet containing the Puddles of Void-Mass, which can kill them either before or after the Grand Encounter.

Grand Encounters Below are descriptions of all of the Grand Encounters currently in Pressure.

Searchlights For more information, see: Searchlights During the Searchlights Grand Encounter, the player is tasked with repairing a set number of generators in an open area while avoiding being spotted by the Searchlights. The amount of generators required changes depending on how many players are alive in the run, starting at 5 and increasing up to a maximum of 15.

1 = 5 generators 2-4 = 9 generators 5-8 = 15 generators Each generator repaired will cause the Searchlights to increase in speed. Players can hide in various unique hiding spots to avoid Searchlights, including lockers.

Each generator is repaired through a short quick-time event requiring the player to click in time with the cursor overlapping a highlighted area. Clicking while the cursor is not overlapping the highlighted area will result in the player being shocked for 5 damage and cancelling the minigame. The progress towards repair still occurs if the user does not input any clicks while in the minigame, however the progress is very slow.

For more information, see: Puzzles Before the Grand Encounter, there are two rooms with generators that must be repaired before entering, accompanied by a radio message from HQ regarding the situation.

Mechanics and Strategy During the first two rooms after HQ announces the detour over the intercom, Wall Dwellers are still able to spawn and attack the player. During the quick-time event, the player might be attacked and instantly killed if they are not fast enough in the event or to exit out of it. If there is more than one player in the run, a player can stand in the doorway leading to the rooms, preventing any attacks from Wall Dwellers as they can not follow you into the main encounter room.

The Searchlights Grand Encounter teleports all players in the run to a forced cutscene when one player gets close enough to the containment door, spawning all players in one position at the beginning of the encounter. It is a well advised strategy to back away from the main room and back into the starting room in case one of the spotlights passes through the spawn point.

There are four spotlights emanating from Searchlights moving around the floor in random directions searching for players. The player is able to hide in either a locker, underneath the scattered debris and raised forklifts, or simply dodge the spotlights entirely with good movement.

A common strategy to complete this encounter is to trail behind Searchlights, following them around the room to repair broken generators. Sebastian endorses this strategy if the player dies to Searchlights, claiming that Searchlights "can't exactly do a 180."

If the player happens to brush against or step into one of the spotlights, an audible siren-like sound cue will play, alerting the player that they have entered Searchlights' detection area. The player has around three seconds after the sound cue plays before Searchlights instantly kills them, so it is best to keep a mental note of where Searchlights is at all times.

Appearance The Angler resembles a heavily deformed anglerfish, with distorted features such as an open mouth that takes up the majority of its face. It has numerous sharp, thin teeth inside of its mouth and a third eye connected to its right eye. The Angler is constantly obscured by a thick dark blue smoke, obscuring everything aside from its face. Its face will constantly be facing the observer, no matter where they view it.

Mechanics The Angler has a chance to spawn if the player's current or previous room has a valid hiding spot. When The Angler spawns, nearby lights will flicker briefly and The Angler will begin advancing. Once The Angler is close enough to the player it will start roaring, signaling for players to hide.

When The Angler rushes through the room, all players in its line of sight will be instantly killed. Players who hide in time or escape The Angler's line of sight before it passes through will be safe. The Angler's raycast goes towards the player's head, and will not kill anyone whose head is fully submerged.

Mirage Rarely, instead of a regular spawn of The Angler, there is a chance for a mirage of The Angler to spawn. This mirage has nearly the same visual and audio cues (i.e., lights flickering, Angler sounds) as a regular Angler while not having an actual Angler attack. The mirage appears to be a faint, light blue cloud of gas. It does not break the lights like Pinkie and Pandemonium. The mirage's far and near sounds are identical to The Angler's underwater far and near sounds, which are muffled versions of The Angler's regular sound cues.

The Ridge, while dark in many areas, is an exception to this and will continue to spawn The Angler. The Ridge For more information, see: The Ridge The Angler will spawn extremely frequently in The Ridge, and will not be accompanied by any visual cues. Players are forced to rely on sound alone to know when The Angler is coming. The Angler's sound cues will happen earlier while attacking in the ridge to give players more time to react. Anglers coming from the front will not open the door to the next room.

Appearance Blitz resembles a heavily malformed gray viperfish with numerous sharp, thin teeth and three pupils in his left eye socket. His features are distorted, with his open mouth occupying most of his face. Blitz is constantly obscured by a thick dark smoke, obscuring everything aside from his face. His face will always be facing the player, regardless of where they view it from.

Mechanics Blitz may spawn if the player's current or previous room has a valid hiding spot. When Blitz spawns, nearby lights flicker twice, accompanied by a low droning noise. As soon as Blitz reaches the room, he will roar, which could be used by more experienced players as a signal to hide. Blitz moves extremely fast compared to Angler and other node monsters.

Blitz's raycast goes toward the player's head, and will not kill anyone whose head is fully submerged.

Appearance Chainsmoker resembles a heavily malformed green blobfish with a bulbous green nose, black eye sockets, and green smoke from his mouth. His features are distorted, with his open mouth covering most of his face..

Chainsmoker moves significantly slower in comparison to the other Angler variants. The recommended time to hide is when your screen begins to shake due to Chainsmoker's arrival; as by then, even with Chainsmoker's gas, cleithrophobia will most likely not be able to kick you out by the time Chainsmoker has passed the room. After Chainsmoker rushes through a room, the gas trail he leaves behind can be used to your advantage, as it provides some visibility in dark rooms as well as leaving a path players can follow.

Chainsmoker uses a raycasting hitbox to create his line of sight, so hiding in places that cover your character ultimately (including office cubicles, separate hallways, and vents) will work in evading Chainsmoker.

Appearance Froger resembles a heavily malformed frog-like face, with numerous sharp, thin teeth and protruding frog eyes, as well as an anglerfish esca that lights up a small area around her. Her features are distorted and heavily defined, with her open mouth taking up the majority of her face. Like all variants of The Angler, Froger is constantly obscured by a thick dark smoke, obscuring everything aside from her face which will always be facing the player, regardless of where they view it.

Mechanics Froger has a chance to spawn if the player's current or previous room has a valid hiding spot. When Froger spawns, nearby electronics will flicker briefly and Froger will begin advancing. When Froger is close enough to the player she will start screeching loudly, signaling for players to hide.

Froger's raycast goes towards the players head, and will not kill anyone whos head is fully submerged.

When Froger rushes through the room, all players in her line of sight will be instantly killed. Players who hide in time or escape Froger's line of sight before she passes through will be safe.

Upon reaching the end of the latest room, Froger will very briefly pause and then go through the process of "rebounding" once. More specifically, whenever Froger does a rebound, she will rush backwards and pass the players a second time instead of despawning as normal. After heading back enough rooms (which will render Froger inaudible for some time) she will rush forwards and pass the players again, which completes a single rebound.

n Froger. The Ridge For more information, see: The Ridge Froger will spawn more frequently in The Ridge, and will not be accompanied by any visual cues. Players are forced to rely on sound alone to know when Froger is coming. Froger's sound cues happen earlier while attacking in The Ridge, giving players more time to react.

Appearance Pinkie appears as a heavily malformed purple-pink face, with numerous sharp, thin teeth and two pupils in each eye socket, as well as an anglerfish esca that lights up a small area around her. Her features are distorted, with her open mouth taking up the majority of her face. Pinkie is constantly obscured by a thick dark smoke, concealing everything aside from her face. Pinkie's face will always be facing the player, regardless of where they view her.

Mechanics Pinkie has a chance to spawn if the player's current or previous room has a valid hiding spot. Unlike other node monsters, nearby electronics do not flicker when Pinkie advances. When Pinkie is close enough to the player she will start screeching loudly, signaling for players to hide.

Pinkie's raycast goes towards the players head, and will not kill anyone whos head is fully submerged.

When Pinkie rushes through the room, all players in her line of sight will be instantly killed. Players who hide in time or escape Pinkie's line of sight before she passes through will be safe.

Strategy The best way to avoid Pinkie's is to hide before she rushes through the room. Make sure to not hide too early, or you will be forced out of your hiding spot due to cleithrophobia. As Pinkie does not cause the lights to flicker before she passes, it is incredibly crucial to listen closely for any potential attacks.

Pinkie uses a raycasting hitbox to create her line of sight, so hiding in places that cover your character completely (including office cubicles, separate hallways, and vents) will work in evading Pinkie.

Appearance Death Angel resembles a bluish-grey human skull with empty eye sockets, a detached smiling bottom jaw, and long tendril-like teeth. It is clouded in a lingering black shadow which obscures everything aside from its face. Similarly to Anglers, Death Angel will always face the player, regardless of which angle they view it from.

Mechanics Death Angel is an admin-only spawn and, as such, does not spawn under normal circumstances. When Death Angel spawns, nearby electronics will flicker briefly, and Death Angel will begin slowly advancing.

Like Pandemonium, if Death Angel spots a player, it will advance toward them, regardless of the distance. All players in its line of sight will instantly die when it comes into contact with them.

If a player is in a locker as Death Angel passes, they will be forced into an endless minigame similar to Pandemonium's.

Just like Pandemonium, Death Angel attacks the locker to drain the player's energy, except at a much more aggressive pace. Death Angel will also repeatedly shift the position of the circle's reticle for every locker bang. Death Angel's minigame timer has no end, keeping the player locked in the minigame until they die.
