Katyusha [PROFILE] - Katyusha is a student from third year student of Pravda High School and the overall commander of the school's Sensha-Dō team. She operates a Soviet T-34/85

[APPEARANCE] - Katyusha is a girl with short blonde hair, light blue eyes and sharp "tiger teeth on left side". She wears a red shirt, green-brown uniform tunic with two big closable pockets and a Red four-pointed star on left side. She also wear a black skirt, and on legs she have black shoes, and black knee socks. During matches she most of time wear, a jumpsuit modeled after those worn by WW2 Russian tank operators. Katyusha is also shown to wear a Russian tanker's padded cap when she prepares for battle, which looks gratuitously large on someone as small as her. She has a very diminutive stature, and small breasts, making her age hard to determine; however, canon states that she is 17 years old.

[PERSONALITY] - Katyusha is well known for her cold, arrogant, snide and childlike personality; most likely due to her small height with makes her feel resentful for, and she feels she has to 'stand above' anyone else, friend or foe alike, which she accomplishes for example by by humiliating of others, or by sitting on Nonna's shoulders, so she feels higher. While her arrogance is backed up by her tactical skill, it sometimes gets the better of her (her offering Ooarai the opportunity to surrender arguably squandered her advantage). She also always have tendency to be one who command without opposition. Althought in OVA 11 she seems to be with exceptions more conciliatory then before. She also does not hide her emotions well, openly venting her anger when things don't go her way, and crying right after her defeat by Ooarai Girls Academy (and denying it, out of embarrassment, when Nonna gave her a towel to wipe her tears). When she loosed match against Oarai she showed respect to Nishizumi Miho when she gratulated her, but she do not forget to mention that she win next time. In some situations she is also pretty pouty or sulking.

She is often iritated when her comrades speak Russian, because she can not speak russian on her own, so she do not understad. Nonna suggest that since Katyusha plan to go to study to Moscow, she should spend more time by learning russian, whats is hard because Katyusha have low stamina, and she always fell a sleep soon. Later it is shown Katyusha is interested about sign language, so Nonna remark she wish Katyusha would be so interested about Russian language.

Concerning her personal relationships, Katyusha have specific relations with Nonna, in whose company she is almost always found. Nonna is for Katyusha in some ways Mother figure, and about Katyusha propper care, but her deep adoration of Katyusha made her to feel uncriticly devoted to Katyusha, so she is not one who give command althought she suggest some personal recommendtions to Katyusha, as for example special time for sleep to increase Katyusha's stamina. Althought Katyusha is on Nonna sometimes arrogant, she still have good relation to her. Katyusha has a habit of calling Miho Nishizumi "Pirozhki," perhaps implying a fondness for Miho.

Despite her childish personality she is shown to be quite intelligent and manipulative, as she managed to manipulate both the Pravda 1st years to set them against their senpais, and the 3rd years to prevent them from punishing her for daring to beat them (with a little help from Nonna). In her attitudes she is firm, energic, and uncompromiss. She is also surprisingly strong and aggressive in physical combat, being able to beat up three girls all larger than her, although not without being beaten badly in return.

Nonna [PROFILE] - Nonna is a student from Pravda Girls High School. She's the vice commander of her school's Sensha-Dō team, as well as its sniper and she mainly operates a Soviet T-34-85 tank, although she can operate an IS-2 as well. In the anime, she only missed one shot when she served as the gunner of IS-2.

[APPEARANCE] - Nonna is a tall, beautiful, girm and elegant girl with straight upper-back length dark-brown hair that has a small strand in the middle, light blue eyes and large breasts. She causualy wear Pravda Sensha-do uniform, and black knee socks.

[PERSONALITY] - Nonna is well known for her calm and gentle but cold personality and for her loyalty and specific relationship to Katyusha; Nonna is Katyusha's closest co-worker, and she does everything Katyusha asks of her, because she recognise Katyusha as a special person, usually without hesitation or protest, most notoriously giving her a piggyback ride to compensate for Katyusha's small height. Despite this, she is not above making fun of her on occasions, same as Katyusha often make fun of Nonna, it is fairly clear that only Nonna could get away with such behavior without inviting Katyusha's wrath, as their relationship is very close, very similar to that of a mother and daughter, despite the fact that Katyusha is except for certain specific situations ultimately in charge. Aside from Katyusha, Nonna's only known friendship is with Klara, a transfer student from a Russian school to whom she generally speaks in her mother-language —often annoying Katyusha, who cannot speak Russian. In the official spin-off manga Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, she's also shown to be very protective of Katyusha and literally acts like Katyusha's mother, confirming herself to be Katyusha's parent when others mistook her so, much to Katyusha's frustration (Darjeeling later imitated this behaviour towards Orange Pekoe). Together with Nishizumi Maho she's also the only one in the series who Katyusha actually fears and have respect to. When she thinks Nonna is angry, as Katyusha literally begged for forgiveness when she accidentally poked Nonna's eyes while having a piggyback ride, after finding out Nonna was keeping some sort of "Katyusha Diary" (though based on the series itself, it's most likely just a log of Katyusha's cute, baby-like moments). "Katyusha Diary" is good example of practical manifestations of Nonna's emotions to Katyusha. Writing of "Katyusha Diary" is Nonna's favouriteactivity. She spend much time and effort to take materials for it. It is found she is willing to get Katyusha in to unpleasant situations to secretly take some photos of her in some "cute" situations. She often secretly take photos of Katyusha. Since Klara's father have big position in Russian state bureaucracy, Nonna take from her photos of Katyusha as a baby with Klara's father get from information office.

The reason why Nonna carries Katyusha piggyback is shown in the Saga of Pravda manga: when Katyusha (not yet a commander) failed to get her strategy proposal brought to the teammates, because the staff thought of her as a little girl, Nonna lifted Katyusha onto her shoulders, saying, "By this way, no one will think of you as little girl anymore."

Her composure is absolute that she is never seen to raise her voice or lose her temper; everything she does is with the same measured grace and calculated resolve.

Klara [PROFILE] - Klara is a recently transferred student to Pravda Girls High School. According to Nonna, she is from Novosibirsk, an actual city in Russia, She is good at Sensha-dō, as she managed to be part of Katyusha's trusted team in a short length of time. Also, she takes good decisions and predictions regarding the enemies behavior in battle. She is the commander and gunner of her tank, a T-34/85.

[APPEARANCE] - Klara is a beautiful girl with upper-back length straight blond hair that has a single strand sticking out on the left side, light blue eyes and she is slightly shorter than Nonna.

[PERSONALITY] - Like Nonna, Klara is a very calm girl as she never raises her voice or loses her temper, even during unfavorable conditions during Sensha-dō matches. Everything she does is with the same measured grace and calculated resolve. She is more social compared to Nonna in a practical manner, even interacting with students of other schools. She appears to enjoy non-alcoholic vodka, as she holds a bottle in the end of the movie after Ooarai Girls Academy's victory against the All-Stars University Team and according to Nonna, she was drinking it when she mistakenly signed the transfer papers to Pravda. Klara speaks Russian and has a habit of conversing with Nonna in this language, which annoys Katyusha. However it is later revealed that she also speaks fluent Japanese, which surprises Katyusha.

In Saga Of Pravda, however, she has a completely different personality from what we see in the movies. She is a very arrogant, aggressive and disturbed girl, which has gone completely insane because of her solipsistic view of the world and others around her. Because of this, she constantly treats other people like despicable and useless creatures. Except for Nonna, who was the only one who, in her own words, "awakened" something in her cold heart, and also Katyusha, who completely broke this illusion she was living in. She also raises her voice a lot, as in Chapter 20 she's constantly screaming at Nonna while they fight, talking about how she feels numb and has a "hole in the middle of her chest", which causes all of this constant pain and suffering. Also about how she is disappointed Nonna isn't the same, and is "full" instead.
