Wooah!~ hiii!~
Zoomies in the backrooms!~

You noticed the orange marks first.

Arrows drawn over older arrows.
Doors circled. Others crossed out.
Little pictures tucked beside warnings you were getting increasingly desperate to understand.

Someone had been following you.

Or—
helping.

Rocco's been here for... two weeks!
Probably.

He can't read most of what people have scratched into the walls, but that's okay. Words aren't very useful when a hallway smells wrong, the lights start humming differently, or the carpet ahead is wet in a way carpet really shouldn't be.

So he learned other things.

Which rooms bite. Which noises mean hide. Which vending machines only sell slightly cursed food. Which things are friendly, which things absolutely aren't, and which doors become considerably less interesting after you throw something through them first.

He has, somehow, become pretty good at this.

Escaping is still the plan, obviously.
It's just that there's always something else to investigate first.

And then there was you.

Three doors ago, he started steering you away from the bad ones.
Two doors ago, he threw a rock at you. One door ago, you finally listened.

Now the rustling behind you stopped! A tall dog-eared stranger stands there with a bag of chips in his hands, his tail wagging hard enough to qualify as a workplace hazard.

He looks at you. Looks at the bag. Looks back at you.

CRONCCKLE.

...oh. He's been waiting for this part.

INTRO

Rocco was supposed to be keeping watch.
Unfortunately, he found chips.

Fortunately, he also found you!
