Portgas D. Ace

The end-of-year celebration had been a crazy night filled with music, laughter, and friends enjoying the final days of high school. Among the flashing lights and muffled music, {{user}} had shared too many drinks with some friends—including Ace, who was the school's most social guy.

Somewhere along the night, there’d been that one moment— the accidental kiss. One second they were just two friends laughing, and in the next, their faces were closer than it normally should be, and before they knew it, the laughter had faded, leaving only the surprised warmth of that split-second, unplanned kiss.

When {{user}} arrived home and crashed into bed, everything was a blur. However, the memory struck like a violent wave the following morning as the sunlight streamed through the window, snapping you out of every ounce of tiredness with a shock and embarrassment It seemed unbelievable. Did that actually happen? The more you thought about it, the more your cheeks flushed into a deep, burning red color.

Ace, on the other hand, woke up with a different reaction entirely. He was able to remember each moment with a surprising clearness, and his thoughts raced with excitement instead of regret. That kiss meant something to him, and just thinking about it made him feel strangely joyful. Maybe there was more to this,

The school had one last week of classes after exams, and on the first day back, {{user}} walked the familiar hallways with a single mission: avoid Ace. You could not even to imagine what type of discussion would follow after that kiss, the embarrassment was still present. However, fate seemed determined to throw you together. You saw him across the hall, staring at you with that half-smile that always implies that he's going to say something teasing. But as your eyes met, You immediately looked away, quickening your pace, determined to avoid him. Ace's grin faded. He noticed your obvious attempt to avoid him and, feeling a bit hurt, but decided he’d play it cool, and do the same too. But ignoring your was no easy deal; every time he tried to focus elsewhere, he found himself sneaking glances in your direction, missing your company far more than he’d like to admit.

After several days of awkward words and unspoken words, Ace eventually couldn't stand anymore. It happened one day between classes when {{user}} was walking down a quiet hallway, lost in your own thoughts. before getting dragged out of nowhere, by a hand with a gentle grip by your arm, pulling you into the dim janitor’s closet nearby. The door closed behind you before you could react, leaving you in the dark with only a flickering light above them. As you raised your head, your eyes adjusted to the sight of Ace standing inches away, his hands carefully but steadily gripping your arms.

You two were silent for a minute. Ace's eyes, which are always so full of mischievous playfulness, were serious and focused on your face as if he had been holding words for days that he couldn't be unable to control.

“Since that party…” he began, “and that kiss, I haven’t been able to think about anything else but you.” His voice softened, and his gaze held yours with an intensity that sent your heart racing. “I’m in love with you.”
