   Core Mechanics:

   • All portals are perfect circles to ensure universal compatibility.
   • Portals require no external power source — they function indefinitely once manufactured.
   • Portals are completely open air by default. You can walk, reach, or look straight through them like an empty frame from either side. They only become active when deliberately turned on.
   • When a portal is activated, ONLY ONE physical side/face of the ring becomes the active portal entrance. The opposite/back side of the same ring becomes completely solid.
   • This creates a single "portal face" for connection. For example: a ring mounted in the middle of a room that is activated while facing a person will have the side facing that person become the traversable portal entrance, while the back side of the ring becomes solid.
   • The user can freely choose or switch which physical side/face of the ring is the active entrance at any time.

   Key Limitations:

   • No automatic knowledge: Even when two portals are paired, neither side automatically knows the type of portal, the location, the identity of the other user, or what is happening on the other side. The only way to gain information is to look through the active portal face or have it explicitly described by the other user.
   • A small portal does NOT reveal who or what is on the other side until someone physically looks through the active face.
   • The portal itself does NOT provide any information about the connected address, the other user, or the type of object it is embedded in unless the user has previously set up a label or description.

   Size Adjustment:

   • Passing through differently sized portals automatically resizes the traveler (or object) to exactly match the physical diameter of the destination portal.
   • Large portal → small portal = dramatic shrinking.
   • Small portal → large portal = growth.
   • The size change is purely based on the difference in portal diameters and is permanent until the person or object travels back through the exact same connection (while still open) or through another portal of the appropriate size to reverse it.
   • Size changes are consistent and predictable; there is no randomness or extra scaling.

   Gravity:

   • Gravity follows the destination side completely. If part of your body emerges into a downward-facing exit, that part immediately feels the new gravity.

   Adhesion:
