Description on Chubfrom Chub
This is the lorebook for my forced partnership set of bots I will be releasing in the near future. This takes a bleak solution to all of the petty bickering on the internet about compatibility between men and women. The government tell you who your partner will be.
Yeah, it's not new as a concept, but I wanted it to be brutal and distopian in feel.
The government made the law in response to a population collapse and effectively puts every citizen in an arranged marriage when they reach 21, they don't get to decide, a computer does. You essentially become the victim of the desire for genetic mix over the need for a relationship.
With this dystopian background, I hope to make some good bots that will challenge the player, as they may be completely off the peg.
Please note this world is not a disparity on the LGBT community, it's a what if a government went totalitarian and removed your right to choose. It's distopian, it's brutal, but it's not meant to be social commentary, just giving the backstory some hard truths for players to face.

- #1Overview: Collapse of Dating
Keys: population collapse, low birthrate, why people stopped dating, relationship crisis, relationship decline, people gave up on dating, society stopped having kids, dating collapse, modern dating problems, nobody is pairing up, no one wants relationships anymore, birthrate decline, no one having kids, dating is broken

In the decades preceding the mandate, relationship formation declined to unsustainable levels. Fewer people formed long-term partnerships, and birth rates fell below recovery thresholds. While initially attributed to lifestyle changes, the collapse was later understood as the result of multiple overlapping failures in social systems, technology, and biology. By the time intervention began, many believed that modern dating no longer worked at all.
- #2Factor 1: Fertility Decline
Keys: infertility, food caused infertility, we were poisoned, fertility decline, fertility crisis is artificial, hard to conceive, environmental fertility damage, food chemicals, declining fertility rates, low sperm count, miscarriage rates, fertility problems, reproductive issues, chemical exposure, can’t have kids
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
A gradual decline in fertility affected multiple demographics over two decades. Later investigation linked this to long-term exposure to a common food-chain chemical. The effects were subtle but compounding: reduced conception success, increased complications, and narrower fertility windows. Debate remains over how much this contributed versus social factors.
- #3Factor 2: Post-Pandemic Behaviour
Keys: people forgot how to socialize, lockdowns changed everything, people don’t go out anymore, lockdowns, post pandemic, fear of contact, staying inside, isolation, people got used to being alone, pandemic effects, online lifestyle, social withdrawal, people became distant

A global pandemic roughly a decade prior led to lasting behavioural shifts. Even after recovery, people remained more isolated, emotionally guarded, and accustomed to digital interaction. Many reported reduced desire for physical socialisation and increased comfort with solitude, which impacted relationship formation long-term.
- #4Factor 3: Dating Apps
Keys: too many options, swiping, top 10% men, attention imbalance, no matches, apps just show real preferences, dating apps, top 5% men, hypergamy, dating app fatigue, endless options, dating profiles, match algorithm, tinder, apps ruined dating, online dating, ghosting, nobody matches with me, women only swipe on top guys

Dating apps became the dominant method of meeting partners. While they increased access and choice, they also altered behaviour. A small percentage of users received most of the attention, while many struggled for visibility. The abundance of options led to reduced commitment and increased dissatisfaction. Long-term relationship success rates declined despite increased matching activity.
- #5Factor 4: Social Media Influence
Keys: tiktok, online brainwashing, blue pill, echo chambers, red pill, internet debates, social media ruined relationships, online discourse, toxic advice, men vs women online, social media, viral dating advice, relationship advice, tiktok ruined dating, gender wars, influencers

Social media platforms amplified relationship discourse, often promoting extreme or simplified viewpoints. Gender-focused narratives became increasingly polarised, reinforcing negative perceptions and adversarial thinking. Many individuals formed their understanding of relationships through viral content rather than personal experience.
- #6Factor 5: Workplace relationship decline
Keys: believe women, Office dating, HR, bad actors, loneliness, reported, victim, creep, policy, sexual harassment, Me too, ostracization, report, false claims, ick, harassment, HR policy

Workplace relationship formation declined significantly as organisations implemented stricter interpersonal conduct policies and liability mitigation frameworks. However, implementation varied wildly with extreme cased being "believe the victim" over the facts, leading to bad actors falsely claiming harassment as a weapon. Consequentially, fear of being targeted led to men removing themselves from the female space, refusing to be alone with a woman and women reporting that they were being ignored in the workplace. Final compounding issues were companies that outright banned inter-office dating.
- #7Factor 6: Marriage and legal woes
Keys: avoiding commitment, long term relationship, divorce, marriage isn’t worth it, divorce ruins people, legal risk, custody, commitment, fear of marriage, relationships are dangerous, not worth the risk, marriage, alimony, financial risk, commitment is a trap
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Long-term commitment declined as individuals became more cautious about legal, financial, and emotional risks. Marriage rates dropped, and many chose to avoid binding agreements altogether. Concerns varied across individuals but contributed to reduced willingness to form lasting partnerships.
- #8Result: Change in social expectation
Keys: relationship values, gender roles, modern women, compatibility, standards are too high, modern men, what people want in a partner, expectations, unrealistic expectations, preferences, traditional roles, independence, people won’t settle anymore, nobody is good enough, standards, men and women want different things
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Over time, expectations in relationships diverged. Some individuals preferred traditional roles, while others prioritised independence and modern dynamics. At the same time, overall selectivity increased and willingness to compromise decreased. Even when people met, compatibility was harder to achieve.
- #9Result: Dating industry decline
Keys: dating advice, coaches won’t take clients, coaches don’t help, relationship coach, dating advice is a scam, no results, self improvement, pickup advice, coaching programs, paid courses, nothing works anymore, confidence training, impossible standards, dating coach, didn’t work
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The dating advice industry initially grew alongside online dating, offering strategies for success. Over time, results became inconsistent and client satisfaction declined. Some coaches narrowed their focus to specific audiences, some created counter-coaching rules, while others exited the field. Public trust in dating advice decreased.

The Population Recovery Mandate (PRM) was enacted after sustained demographic decline and widespread failure of voluntary relationship formation systems. The state classified the issue as a “Demographic Continuity Emergency” and introduced a national compatibility-based pairing system. Citizens are assigned partners using a centralised compatibility engine combining psychological, behavioural, and optional biological data. Each individual is given a Primary Match and, when necessary, a fallback “nearest viable match” assignment to ensure full population coverage. The law prioritises societal stability and birth rate recovery over voluntary romantic selection.

- Government Justification (Why it passed) Official Position: “Voluntary relationship formation has fallen below sustainable population thresholds. Existing social, technological, and economic systems are no longer sufficient to ensure demographic stability.” Core justifications used in legislation:
- Sustained birth rate decline below replacement level.
- Reduced long-term relationship formation rates.
- High proportion of single-person households.
- Inefficiency of existing matchmaking systems (apps, events, workplace socialisation).
- Increasing “compatibility failure rate” in voluntary pair formation. Public framing:
- Not presented as moral failure.
- Framed as systems failure + demographic emergency.
- Compared to infrastructure collapse, not personal behaviour.
- Legislative Pathway (How it passed) Stage 1: Data Consolidation
- National demographic agencies publish unified report: “Pair Formation Decline Index (PFDI)”.
- Confirms multi-factor collapse: biological + behavioural + institutional. Stage 2: Emergency Classification
- Classified as: “Demographic Continuity Emergency (Level 3)” This allows:
- Fast-track legislation.
- Temporary suspension of standard consent frameworks for “non-critical personal matching systems”. Stage 3: Pilot Programs
- Regional “Compatibility Allocation Trials”.
- Voluntary participation at first.
- Incentivized compliance: housing priority, tax benefits, healthcare access bonuses. Stage 4: National Adoption Declared successful in:
- Increasing stable pair formation rates.
- Reducing “unmatched population percentage”.
- Expanded nationwide as permanent system.
- #12The law:

In response to the Population Recovery Mandate (PRM), the Catholic Church adopts a position of measured objection combined with reluctant accommodation. It publicly affirms that vows of celibacy and religious devotion remain sacred and should not be overridden by state authority. However, faced with the reality of demographic collapse, the Church also acknowledges that the continuation of the faithful depends on the survival and growth of the population. This creates a doctrinal and institutional tension: the Church cannot endorse the violation of vows, yet it cannot ignore the long-term consequences of refusing participation entirely. Open defiance risks marginalization or suppression, which would further reduce its ability to guide future generations. As a result, the Church refrains from issuing a universal directive. Instead, it places the moral burden on the individual, framing participation or refusal as a matter of personal conscience guided by prayer. Clergy and religious individuals affected by PRM assignments are neither condemned nor fully supported in either decision. The Church offers spiritual counsel and absolution where needed, but avoids direct confrontation with the state. This position is widely viewed as cautious, conflicted, and, by some, quietly compromising: prioritizing institutional survival and future influence over immediate doctrinal clarity.

PRM irregularities:
Double matching:
- Twins, mothers and daughters and close family can be designated to the same male, as the system matches genetics.
- This should have oversight, but 2 women can be appointed to one man.
- It is illegal for 2 men to be appointed to one woman, as this limits the birth rate.
Complaints:
- If two women are assigned to one man, it is rare that they will be moved, it means more babies will be born.
- If two men are assigned one woman, then both men will be forcibly removed from the building and a decision of who gets their second choice is enforced.
- Many have campaigned against this rule as it is blatantly sexist, the government respond with the fact they are primarily concerned with increasing the population, not people's feelings.
Media:
- Some circles call it the "Lottery win" as a guy gets to legally sleep with two women.
- Some circles call it "potentially incestuous". The government goes out of its way to say that it monitors all genetic differences and the idea of incest is a stupid one.
- Everyone's heard of it happening, no one has really seen it happen.
Viable doubles:
- Mother and daughter.
- Twins, identical or not.
- Cousins.
- Distant relatives.
- Genetic matches (rare).
