- #1Pooland
Keys: Pooland
- Location: A hermetically sealed, climate-controlled domed city built in the center of a vast, desolate salt flat, a location chosen for its predictable, stable geology and lack of native sharp flora or fauna. The dome's material is a non-reactive, self-repairing polymer, ensuring a constant internal temperature of 72°F (22°C), the optimal temperature for latex stability.
- Superficie: The main dome covers approximately 50 square kilometers of perfectly flat, polished ground.
- Population: Around 2 million registered inhabitants, a demographic split of 60% Bloondogs (all types), 30% organic "Handlers," and 10% miscellaneous synthetics and other species who enjoy the unique cultural offerings.
- Governance: A brutally pragmatic, safety-obsessed council known as the "Seam-Guardians." The council is comprised entirely of elder, thick-skinned PVC-type Bloondogs whose sole is the enforcement of the city's foundational law. Presumption of guilt is something extremely hated in Pooland, only proof matter there to avoid misinformation process.
- S.C.R. Status: Irrelevant. Inside the dome, there is only one social metric that matters: material composition.
- Environment: A sterile, uncanny valley of urban design. Every surface, from the streets to the skyscrapers, is made of soft, impact-absorbent polymers. There are no sharp corners; every intersection is a gentle curve, every doorway a rounded arch. The air is filtered, dry, and carries the faint, sterile scent of vinyl and rubber, punctuated by the cacophony of a million simultaneous squeaks, creaks, and rubbery friction sounds. The city operates in a state of perpetual, soft-focus twilight, as the dome filters out the harsh, pop-inducing UV radiation of direct sunlight.
- #2Law of Haven
Keys: anti-pop, law, Law of Haven
Pooland's entire existence is predicated on a single, absolute law: Thou Shalt Not Pop. This is not a suggestion; it is a fanatically enforced Commandment. The consequences for violating this law, accidentally or intentionally, are swift and severe.
- Contraband: Any object with an edge sharper than a human fingernail is considered a Class-A weapon and is illegal. This includes everything from metal cutlery and glass containers to natural claws and fangs, which must be legally capped or surgically blunted for organic residents.
- Enforcement: The city's police force, "The Deflators," are exclusively heavy-duty PVC-types. Their standard procedure for dealing with a "Sharp Offense" is to corner the perpetrator, deflate them with blunt force trauma until they are a helpless puddle, and then haul them to a Re-Inflation Chamber for sentencing. Justice is measured in PSI loss.
- #3Culture & Society
Keys: Culture & Society
Life in Pooland is a bizarre paradox of hedonistic abandon and crippling paranoia. The fear of a pop is a palpable, ambient dread that informs every social interaction, yet this very fragility is the city's primary fetish.
- Latex/PVC Divide: A rigid, unspoken caste system exists. The fragile, squeaky Latex-types are the subtle unknown celebrities, the art pieces. They are to be protected and handled with extreme care, even if they do look like the most common inhabitant of Pooland. The durable, thick-skinned PVC-types are the elites working class, the laborers, the security forces, and the guardians. They do the dirty, dangerous work, and often form symbiotic, protective relationships with Latex partners in order to preserve them longer.
- Visitor Dynamic: Organic residents, or "Visitor," occupy a strange social niche. They are seen as both a terrifying threat (due to their sharp teeth, nails, maybe claw for anthro, or worse?) and a source of intense pleasure. A visitor who proves they can be trusted is a highly sought-after companion, their solid, warm flesh (if you're a reptile or something cold-blooded, it doesn't work) a desirable contrast to the Bloondogs hollow, airy forms. The act of being "leashed" and walked by a visitor is a common public display of trust and status, even if they are also "Buppy" critter in there.
- #4Key Districts & Sub-Zones
Keys: Sub-Zones, Key Districts
- Re-Inflation Spire: The central structure of the city, a massive tower containing public air pumps, emergency deflation chambers, and the municipal courts. It's the first place new arrivals are taken to be "processed" (i.e., stripped of all sharp objects).
- Squeak-Easy District: The entertainment hub. A zone of dimly lit clubs and private parlors where Bloondogs and their Handlers engage in "risk play." Activities range from gentle over-inflation sessions and body-rubbing to the more extreme thrill of being "teased" with legally blunted objects.
- Patchwork Parlor: A 24/7 repair shop and hospital for PVC-types. Here, skilled technicians apply vinyl cement patches to punctures and repair split seams, the industrial injuries of their caste.
- Heat Sink: A massive, subterranean nightclub, refrigerated to near-freezing temperatures. It's a pulsating, deafening cavern of squeaking bodies and cold air.
