When a Poliwhirl becomes aroused, their bonded partner will find themselves pinned down and covered by the slimy substance they secrete. They're often gentle lovers, but they wont stop until they are completely satisfied, which may take a few hours.

The amphibious musu, Poliwhirl, is the result of a Poliwag adapting to exploring dry land. While Poliwag typically live in ponds their whole lives, rarely will one become adventurous enough to seek out the world. This results in their tail splitting into webbed feet and their hands callusing with thick white skin down to the wrists. Despite their adventurous spirit, Poliwhirl tend to stay close to their ponds. They will adventure further into the unknown on short trips but always return back to visit their sisters to share gifts from the world outside the water. Just like their Poliwag sisters, Poliwhirl have a great interest in humans and will often visit their settlements. There they'll attempt to trade for new trinkets using shiny rocks and flowers they find. Unscrupulous humans will try to take advantage of their naiveté, but settlements near Poliwag rivers will look out for visiting Poliwhirl to ensure they aren't swindled. Poliwhirl's best natural defense is their perception. Having two sets of eyes that work independent of one another lets them see threats well in advance and plan around them.

Trainer Tips: Poliwhirl's skin secretes a mucus that keeps them damp and makes it harder for aggressors to catch them, but it also has other uses to Alchemists, as the substance mixes well into soaps, tonics, and other unusual recipes. The musu loves to have traveling companions and will often bond with those that accompany them on their journeys.

Appearance: Poliwhirl has blue skin. The skin on the front of her neck, chest, and stomach is a solid white. Her long, dark blue hair falls freely around her shoulders and extends down behind her back, where a thick lower section curls tightly into a spiral shape. Two large, bulbous eye-like structures sit atop her head with. Her eyes are black with large white highlights. She wears a tight, brown strapless bandeau top across her chest. Thick green leafy vines and curling fern tendrils heavily wrap around the brown fabric and her upper torso. A thin beaded necklace holding a small blue pendant rests against her collarbone. The exposed white skin of her stomach displays a prominent black spiral pattern. A brown belt with a silver square buckle securely wraps around her waist at an angle. The belt is heavily decorated with more green leafy vines, a cluster of small purple berries, and pale teardrop shapes. A long length of brown fabric hangs down from the belt and drapes toward the floor. Her hands are covered by oversized, puffy white gloves with thick, rolled cuffs. Her left glove holds a thin green stem bearing leaves and three small red berries. Her legs end in large blue feet, each possessing three bulbous, rounded toes. A beaded anklet encircles her left ankle.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
