- #1Dynamaxselective
Keys: Dynamax
The Dynamax phenomenon (Japanese: ダイマックス Daimax) or simply known as Dynamax is a temporary transformation affecting Pokémon that was introduced in Generation VIII with Pokémon Sword and Shield. It grants Pokémon tremendous strength and size and allows them to use powerful moves called Max Moves. A variant of this phenomenon called Gigantamax further alters the appearance of Pokémon and gives them access to exclusive G-Max Moves. A Pokémon under the effects of the Dynamax phenomenon may have "Dynamax" in front of their species name e.g. "Dynamax Bulbasaur". The process itself always describes the Pokémon as having "Dynamaxed" in past tense, or will "Dynamax" in future tense. Pokémon actively undergoing Dynamax are described as "Dynamaxing". After its defeat thousands of years ago by Zacian and Zamazenta, Eternatus's energy leaked out during its slumber in the form of Galar particles. This resulted in the creation of Power Spots, where Trainers can trigger the Dynamax transformation. Some Power Spots had Gym Stadiums built over them, and others in the Wild Area became Pokémon Dens, where Max Raid Battles take place. Parts of Eternatus's body, known as Wishing Stars, rained across Galar, allowing whoever found them to Dynamax their Pokémon when at a Power Spot. Dynamax Bands were later created by Oleana to help anyone fully utilize the transformation there. Dynamax was later implemented into the Galar League's Gym Battles by Rose who had most of the Gyms built atop of the Power Spots.[4] Max Mushrooms and Max Honey are grown and created exclusively on the Isle of Armor due to the Dynamax phenomenon affecting the flora and Vespiquen producing it. Dynamaxing increases a Pokémon's size drastically, as well as changing the moves of the Pokémon and increasing their max and current HP in battle according to their Dynamax level (except for Shedinja), but can only be used once during a battle, and ends after three turns or if the Pokémon is switched out. In addition, it can only be performed in areas known to have Power Spots, such as Galar's Gym Stadiums, Battle Court, and Battle Tower. When Dynamaxed, all of the Pokémon's moves will turn into Max Moves that correspond to those moves' types and categories. Like with Mega Evolution, Dynamax is activated at the start of the turn before all other moves are executed. If a Dynamax Pokémon runs out of PP of one move, it still can be selected but fails; if it is unable to use any moves (e.g., running out of PP), it will use Struggle. In a Max Raid Battle, the wild Pokémon is a Dynamax Pokémon for the entire duration of the battle. Only one of the Trainers' Pokémon can Dynamax during a Max Raid Battle, and only for the standard three turns. The first Trainer with the chance to Dynamax is the host, with the chance passing to the next player who joined until it returns to the first player. Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus, including Pokémon transformed into one of these, cannot Dynamax.
- #2Max Moveselective
Keys: Max Move
A Max Move (Japanese: ダイマックスわざ Daimax Move) is a special type of move introduced in Generation VIII. While Dynamaxed, all of a Dynamax Pokémon's moves are replaced by their corresponding Max Moves. For Gigantamax Pokémon, attacking moves of a certain type become G-Max Moves instead. Max Moves are often more powerful than regular moves and all have secondary effects. Similar to Z-Moves, the type, damage category and base power of Max Moves that a Dynamax Pokémon knows depend on the moves it knew before Dynamaxing. The exception to this are status moves, which instead all become the Normal-type Max Guard. If the base move's type is changed either by a move's effect or an Ability (e.g. Pixilate, Electrify, or Weather Ball), then the Max Move will also be converted to that of the new type with the same power; however, the move selection screen will still display the Max Move of the original type. For instance, if a Fighting-type Silvally knows Multi-Attack, the Max Move will still display as Max Strike, but when executed it becomes Max Knuckle. Damaging Max Moves deal 25% of their total damage against targets that use protection moves (such as Protect and Spiky Shield), and secondary effects are still applied. Only the Max Move Max Guard fully protects against Max Moves. Secondary effects of Max Moves may also affect targets and their allies behind a substitute. Max Moves also never miss, unless the target is semi-invulnerable. For Gigantamax Pokémon, damaging moves of a certain type become its exclusive G-Max Move instead of the normal corresponding Max Move; the type of moves affected depends on the Gigantamax Pokémon's species. Eternamax Eternatus can also use Max Moves, but this form cannot be obtained by the player.
- #3Max Strikeselective
Keys: Max Strike
Max Strike (Japanese: ダイアタック Dai Attack) is a damage-dealing Normal-type Max Move introduced in Generation VIII. Max Strike does damage to a target and lowers the Speed of all opponents by one stage. Its power and whether it is a special or physical move depends on the move it is based on. If Max Strike is used with Multi-Attack or Techno Blast as its base move while the user is holding a Memory or a Drive, respectively, Max Strike turns into the Max Move of the type corresponding to the type of Memory or Drive held by the user. If Max Strike is used during weather with Weather Ball as its base move, it turns into the Max Move of the type corresponding to the type Weather Ball would be in that weather. In a similar way, if Max Strike is used during terrain with Terrain Pulse as its base move, it turns into the Max Move of the type corresponding to the type Terrain Pulse would be in that terrain. If Max Strike is used by a Pokémon with Aerilate, Galvanize, Pixilate, or Refrigerate, it turns into the Max Move of the type corresponding to the Pokémon's Ability.

The plate on its breast and belly separates into two adorned plates, and the plates on its flanks become slashed, such that they resemble medieval puffed sleeves. Eight feathers called "blade birds" on the back of Gigantamax Corviknight's wings can be launched from its body to attack foes independently. Its blade birds also glow with Dynamax energy. In its Gigantamax form, Corviknight is powerful enough to generate hurricane-force winds. It can use its massive wings to hover in the air on updrafts created while Gigantamaxing. Its reinforced armor is barely affected by its opponent's attacks. Gigantamax Corviknight is the only known Pokémon capable of using the G-Max Move G-Max Wind Rage.

Keys: Gigantamax Orbeetle
As Gigantamax Orbeetle, its body and brain drastically increase in size to resemble a flying saucer. Its wings disappear when in this form. The spots on its head now perpetually glow in circular cyan and white rings. Underneath Gigantamax Orbeetle's head is five half-orbs, whose colors are black at the base and gradually turn yellow at the bottom. A red ring surrounds the base of each of the half-orbs, which themselves are divided into four by the cyan rings that circle them. At the center beneath Gigantamax Orbeetle's head is a cyan half-orb connected by nine blue lines. The orb has three red clouds floating underneath it and shines a bright spotlight that can move around similar to a flying saucer. The rest of Orbeetle's body is infused into a black orb with blue lines. These lines connect to blue half circles which are connected to the head, arms, and legs. As a result of Gigantamaxing, Orbeetle's psychic power and intelligence have become overwhelming. Should Gigantamax Orbeetle use all of its power, it can control the minds of every living being within its vicinity. Gigantamax Orbeetle is the only known Pokémon capable of using the G-Max Move G-Max Gravitas.
