Totem Pokémon (Japanese: ぬしポケモン Leader Pokémon) are a select group of wild Pokémon that are battled at the end of every trial. Most Totem Pokémon have been trained by their respective Trial Captain, who also provided them their role. Trainers who beat these Pokémon and by extension, complete the trial, are rewarded with a Z-Crystal. Totem Pokémon cannot be caught under normal circumstances, however, in exchange for Totem Stickers, Totem-like Pokémon can be obtained from Samson Oak at Heahea Beach. In the core series games Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon At the start of a battle, Totem Pokémon are enveloped in a special Z-Power aura that boosts one or more of its stats by a fixed number of stages. According to Wicke, this aura is a result of being bathed in the energy spilled by Ultra Wormholes, which is the same kind the Ultra Beasts happen to store in their bodies as they pass through a wormhole. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, this energy is revealed to be Necrozma's light.[3] While their height is only visual aesthetic, their weight mechanically affect moves such as Grass Knot, Heavy Slam, and Sky Drop. Totem Pokémon are battled in SOS Battles, which allows them to summon an ally to help. SOS Battles with Totem Pokémon differ from regular SOS Battles in that their supply of allies may be limited, which allies they call is not influenced by the weather, and they call allies at specific times rather than at random (as such, their calls are unaffected by Adrenaline Orbs or status conditions). Both the Totem Pokémon and their allies have more advanced artificial intelligence than wild Pokémon, mirroring Trainer behavior. Totem Pokémon each also hold a specific item, usually one that will synergize effectively with their particular strategies or cover their weaknesses. Due to the island challenge rules, Totem Pokémon and their allies cannot be caught. Like all wild Pokémon, if the player steals an item from a Totem Pokémon (e.g., via Thief), the player's Pokémon will still be holding the stolen item at the end of battle. The battle theme for the Totem Pokémon is a remix of the wild Pokémon battle theme from the original Pokémon Sun and Moon. Totem Pokémon and Totem-like Pokémon are not registered in the Pokédex as unique forms, despite behaving as such.

The noble Pokémon (Japanese: キング・クイーン Kings and Queens) are a select group of Pokémon that are dedicated to watch over and protect the humans and Pokémon of Hisui, where they're worshiped by the Diamond and Pearl Clans. They're descendants of five of the ten companions of the ancient hero of legend. The descendants of the other five are the ride Pokémon. Background Thousands of years prior to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the ancient hero and his ten Pokémon companions reached and defeated the being known as almighty Sinnoh, receiving its blessing as a sign of its respect. Their descendants would then inherit both their blessing and the duty of protecting the Hisui region and its inhabitants. There are a total of five noble Pokémon who, along with the five ride Pokémon, are each overseen by a warden of the Diamond or Pearl Clan. These Pokémon are often larger than their standard counterparts and cannot be caught. Pokémon Legends: Arceus Due to the space-time rift created by Giratina atop Mount Coronet, the four noble Pokémon became frenzied. Later on, after Growlithe evolved into the noble Arcanine during the player's research at the Cobalt Coastlands, it became frenzied as well. To quell a noble Pokémon, the player must throw balms made of the noble's favorite food until its frenzy gauge reaches zero. After being quelled, each noble Pokémon will grant the player the plate corresponding to its primary type. In the post-game, the player can have a rematch against the nobles at their respective arenas by talking to the warden. The challenges will be identical, except the noble Pokémon will all be at Lv. 70 with full effort levels, and the player is timed for personal records. Statues of all noble and ride Pokémon, built by the Celestica people, can be found at the Temple of Sinnoh. However, these statues are destroyed by Dialga/Palkia when it changed into its Origin Forme. It's unknown what happened to the Noble Pokémon in the present day of Sinnoh.

Titan Pokémon (Japanese: ヌシポケモン Leader Pokémon) are a type of variant Pokémon encountered in the "Path of Legends" storyline of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. They appear much larger than other Pokémon of their kind, and are guardians of the Herba Mystica, rare ingredients said to be able to restore health instantly when eaten. Background 200 years prior to the events of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Area Zero exploration team, led by Heath, discovered the Herba Mystica hidden deep within Area Zero, in the Great Crater of Paldea, located in the center of the region. They recorded information on the herbs in the Scarlet BookS/Violet BookV and gave the Herba Mystica their proper name. They subsequently discovered that the Herba Mystica comes in five different flavor varieties with separate healing effects, and may also cause Pokémon to grow huge. Due to the first discovery, the team attempted to grow the herbs outside of Area Zero, in different sites around Paldea, but before they were able to harvest them, the herbs were eaten by Pokémon, leading to the first appearances of Titan Pokémon on the surface. As a result, the project was abandoned. At some point, a Paradox Pokémon called Great TuskS/Iron TreadsV somehow escaped Area Zero and consumed the Herba Mystica, and therefore became the Quaking Earth Titan. In Naranja AcademyS/Uva AcademyV's library, copies of the Scarlet BookS/Violet BookV can be found with a page detailing the effects of Herba Mystica on Pokémon, such as healing (as seen with an Eevee) and growing (as seen with a Gible). Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Path of Legends Titan Pokémon are ordinary Pokémon empowered and grown to gigantic proportions by the Herba Mystica they eat. There are a total of five Titan Pokémon fights to accomplish. Each Titan Pokémon is fought twice; the first fight is done alone, while the second fight is done together with Arven. After defeating a Titan Pokémon as part of the story, it can be encountered again in the same area it was fought as a normal-sized Pokémon (albeit one that is the largest possible size for their species), where it can be caught. These Pokémon will have the Titan Mark, which allows them to be given the title "the Former Titan"; they are also guaranteed to have an IV of 30 for all stats. The Teal Mask A similar battle state known as Titanic is achieved by the Loyal Three after being resurrected, implied to be caused by the villagers of Mossui Town feeding them Kitakami Mochi made with special herbs.

Brilliant Pokémon (Japanese: オーラポケモン Aura Pokémon) are Pokémon with special auras in the overworld that can appear in Pokémon Sword and Shield. They have certain properties that are distinct from other Pokémon in the area. Brilliant Pokémon can be encountered by one of two methods: as symbol encounters or via fishing. Symbol encounter Brilliant Pokémon give off a visible yellow aura in the overworld, whereas when fishing the aura is around the fishing spot. Once the player encounters the Pokémon, its aura is not seen again. Properties Brilliant Pokémon have the following properties: They are the highest possible level for their Encounter Slot. They know an Egg Move. They have two or three of their IVs guaranteed to be 31. The player earns Watts for catching or defeating them, with high-level Brilliant Pokémon yielding more Watts. They receive additional bonus rolls for being Shiny, up to a total of 6 rerolls at 500 caught/defeated.

5. #5Alpha Pokémon

   Keys: Alpha Pokémon

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

An alpha Pokémon (Japanese: オヤブン boss) is a variety of Pokémon that were introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. They are larger-than-normal Pokémon that appear in the wild with increased combat capabilities. Alpha Pokémon can be identified with the icon in the Pokémon's summary screen and on their health bar in the wild (if transferred to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they have the Alpha Mark instead). Additionally, wild alpha Pokémon have glowing red eyes, with the exception of Zubat; this trait is not retained upon capture. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon who were previously identified as alpha Pokémon will have the title "Former Alpha" and with the Alpha Mark instead. Alpha Pokémon returned in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, retaining the same traits and behavior as in Legends: Arceus. In the core series games Pokémon Legends: Arceus Shortly after the player joins the Survey Corps, an alpha Kricketune intrudes Deertrack Heights. Mai, the warden who oversees Wyrdeer, enlists Akari/Rei to help defeat the Kricketune, who in turn asks the player to aid Mai due to their skill in Pokémon battles. While Ingo is leading the player through Wayward Cave, an alpha Crobat appears along the route. Ingo insists that the player not battle it due to the reduced visibility caused by the absence of the cave's torches, and leads them on a detour to avoid it. The player is unable to battle or catch this particular alpha Pokémon until Ingo reinstalls the torches in the cave. During the three Trials of the Lake guardians, the player has to face an alpha Pokémon at each lake; Hisuian Goodra at Lake Verity, Overqwil at Lake Valor, and Hisuian Zoroark at Lake Acuity. During the post-game, when the player goes to meet Volo at Grueling Grove, the two are ambushed by an alpha Vespiquen. After defeating the Pokémon, the player receives a Stone Plate from it. Gameplay In the wild, alpha Pokémon will be at a higher level than other species of the same kind that can be found in that area, will have at least three stats with individual values of 31 (expressed in this game as initial effort levels of 3) and will know and have mastered a move that cannot be learned by leveling up, selected at random from among the species' list of Move Tutor moves. Alpha Pokémon cannot be caught outside of battle if they are significantly higher level than the player's current obedience level. They can, however, be caught regardless of level during a battle with them. If caught, alpha Pokémon will count as heavy specimens and large specimens for research tasks. Regardless of the species' normal behavior, alpha Pokémon (except for Mantyke and Mantine) are always aggressive towards the player and will never run away, unless a space-time distortion appears around it or it is a species which only appears in the wild at certain times of day. If an alpha Pokémon spots the player, it will roar out a shockwave which, if close enough, will cause the player to be knocked to the ground; they are also forcibly dismounted from their Ride Pokémon if riding Wyrdeer, Ursaluna, or Sneasler. Upon entering battle, wild alpha Pokémon are filled with Wild Might (Japanese: 野性の力 Wild Strength), as indicated by their glowing red eyes. This increases all of a Pokémon's stats, independently of in-battle stat boosts, and reduces damage from status conditions. Alpha Pokémon can also use agile style and strong style moves in battle. There are three types of ways alpha Pokémon may spawn: Fixed alpha Pokémon spawns will always be generated upon entering a given area of the Hisui region, and will be at a fixed level; for instance, the alpha Rapidash in the Obsidian Fieldlands is always Lv. 40. These alpha Pokémon will also automatically respawn after two full in-game days. Random alpha Pokémon spawns may occur after the player has quelled the area's noble Pokémon. Alpha Pokémon, of the same species as the location's standard spawns, each have a small chance of appearing (between a 0.2% and 2% chance). Each location has its own rates for how likely each alpha Pokémon may spawn, including space-time distortions. Prior to the Daybreak update, during mass outbreaks, at most one alpha Pokémon could appear, however this limit was later lifted to account for the "exclusively alpha" bonus waves of massive mass outbreaks. During a massive mass outbreak, clearing all Pokémon in a location may cause a second wave of Pokémon to appear in the same location; if this occurs, the second wave may be composed entirely of alpha Pokémon. During the battle against Giratina at the Temple of Sinnoh, it will be filled with Terrible Might (Japanese: すさまじい力 Tremendous Strength), which has an identical effect to Wild Might. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, alpha Pokémon transferred from Legends: Arceus will gain the Alpha Mark. They will not retain their unique sizes in these games, but will return to their alpha size when brought back to Legends: Arceus. Instead, they will be at the largest non-alpha height value that the species can have. Pokémon Legends: Z-A Like in Legends: Arceus, alpha Pokémon are larger than is typical of their species, have red glowing eyes, and will chase and attack the player. They are powerful and difficult to catch. Like in Legends: Arceus, Alpha Pokemon always have at least three random individual values at the maximum value of 31, and know and have mastered one move that their species doesn't normally learn by level up, but in Legends: Z-A, each species always gets the same mastered TM move every time it appears in the wild. Alpha Pokemon in Legends: Z-A also spawn with the maximum 252 effort values in HP already applied. The real-time battle system gives the size of alpha Pokémon an impact on battles. Larger Pokémon are easier to hit, especially by indirect attacks in 4-player battles. They also can get stuck more easily. Ranged attacks coming from a certain part of the body may come out at less accurate angles. However, direct attacks can benefit from larger hitboxes. Alpha Pokémon will start to appear throughout Lumiose City after completing Side Mission 1: "A Big Ol' Bunnelby".

Crystal Pokémon (Japanese: ニュートラルポケモン Neutral Pokémon) are a type of Pokémon in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. They are considered by fans to be the e-Series equivalent of the Shining Pokémon previously introduced in the later Neo expansions, Neo Revelation and Neo Destiny. However, the Pokémon featured in each of the cards are not alternately colored. Introduced in Aquapolis, Crystal Pokémon are identified by being Colorless but focus on three particular types of Energy to use in its attacks. All Crystal Pokémon have the Poké-Body Crystal Type, in which the type of the Pokémon changes from Colorless to one of three specified types if the corresponding Energy card is placed on it, for one turn. Crystal Pokémon are also not necessarily Basic Pokémon, and are counted as regular Pokémon. While they weren't bound by the one per deck rule like Shining Pokémon, they still featured several Energy for each attack and were quite costly for the effects they provided. In Japan, these cards were released three at a time over the course of the last three e-Card expansions, but with the hurried release of the English sets and their condensation, Skyridge featured six. In both languages, all Crystal Pokémon are secret cards. Crystal Pokémon were retired at the end of the e-Card Series. Within the AI chat There are no Crystal Pokémon that have Normal as their original type. All Pokémon other than Normal-type Pokémon have the potential to become Crystal Pokémon. The Crystal Pokémon's type becomes Normal, and its Ability becomes Normal Skin. Crystal Pokémon are rare Pokémon.

7. #7Dark PokémonDisabled

   Keys: Dark Pokémon

   Disabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Dark Pokémon (Japanese: わるいポケモン Bad Pokémon) are a variant of Pokémon found in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. They are considered a corrupted version of their normal species, and the result of having been raised improperly. They are the counterpart of Light Pokémon. Introduced in the Team Rocket expansion, Dark Pokémon are associated with the Team Rocket organization. They are said to have evolved differently due to Team Rocket raising their unevolved forms without proper love and attention. Gym Heroes touched on the theme with the introduction of Rocket's Pokémon, similar in many respects to Dark Pokémon from the previous expansion. While Dark Pokémon are nearly always evolved Pokémon, Rocket's Pokémon are instead nearly always Basic Pokémon. They tend to have higher attack damage and lower HP values compared to those of normal Pokémon, likely due to the highly offensive nature of their Trainer. As the word "Dark" is part of the card's name, one can include up to 4 of each the regular and Dark versions of the same species in the same deck. Dark Pokémon reappeared in the Neo Destiny expansion, which as the title suggests, revolves around the potential path or "destiny" a Pokémon can follow depending on how it is brought up by its Trainer. The expansion showcased the difference between Pokémon with Dark in their names and Darkness-type Pokémon, with Dark Houndoom and Dark Tyranitar released as Fire-type and Fighting-type Pokémon, respectively. Though Dark Pokémon did not appear in the EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua expansion, Pokémon belonging to Team Aqua or Team Magma utilized the new game mechanic of dual-types, in which many Pokémon acquired a Darkness dual type to further emphasize their allegiance to a villainous team. Dark Pokémon would properly return in the EX Hidden Legends and EX Team Rocket Returns expansions. In line with the precedent set by Team Magma's and Team Aqua's Pokémon, all Dark Pokémon in the EX Series are dual Darkness-type, with the exception of those that are normally Colorless. This essentially rejected the difference between Dark Pokémon and Darkness-type Pokémon displayed in Neo Destiny. Unlike their earlier counterparts, HP and damage values on Dark Pokémon in the EX Series are roughly in line with other cards from the era. Dark Celebi from EX Hidden Legends is notably the only Dark Pokémon that is an unevolved species; however, this card is instead printed as a Rocket's Pokémon in Japan. After a long absence of the mechanic, Dark SylveonVwas printed as one of the SWSH Black Star Promos to celebrate the Pokémon 25th Anniversary. Aesthetically, the artwork on Dark Pokémon cards feature dark colors and harsh shadows. In the Original and Neo Series, Dark Pokémon have a brown and black artwork window, Evolution box, and Pokédex box, as opposed to the regular gold. Also, most Generation I Pokémon feature Ken Sugimori's Pokémon Red and Blue artwork of their previous Stage in the Evolution box, instead of the usual Pokémon Red and Green artwork. In EX Team Rocket Returns, the dual-type template on Dark Pokémon is modified to emphasize the Darkness type, rather than having an even split of both types as seen on other dual-type cards. Within the AI chat All Pokémon owned by villainous teams such as Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic, Team Plasma, Team Flare, Team Skull, Team Yell, and Team Star become Dark Pokémon. Dark Pokémon gain the Dark type in addition to their original type.

Light Pokémon (Japanese: やさしいポケモン Gentle Pokémon) are a variant of Pokémon found in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. They are the counterpart of Dark Pokémon. Light Pokémon were introduced in the 2001 Neo Destiny expansion, which as the title suggests, revolves around the potential path or "destiny" a Pokémon can follow depending on how it is brought up by their Trainer. Similar to their Dark Pokémon counterparts, Light Pokémon are always evolved Pokémon. They tend to have slightly higher HP values compared to those of normal Pokémon, and their attacks often provide support effects that can aid either player. As the word "Light" is part of the card's name, one can include up to 4 of each the regular and Light versions of the same species in the same deck. Although Dark Pokémon returned in the 2004 EX Series, Light Pokémon remained absent from the TCG until 2021, when Light Toxtricity was printed as one of the 2019-2023 SWSH Black Star Promos for the Pokémon 25th Anniversary. Aesthetically, the artwork on Light Pokémon cards feature bright highlights and depict serene environments. They also have a white and gold artwork window, Evolution box and Pokédex box, as opposed to the regular gold. Light Pokémon gain the Fairy type in addition to their original type.

9. #9Radiant PokémonDisabled

Radiant Pokémon (Japanese: かがやくポケモン Sparkling Pokémon) are a subgroup of Shiny Pokémon.[1] They are depicted as a group of Pokémon cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and were introduced in the Astral Radiance expansion. Radiant Pokémon cards feature an exclusive foiling style. These Pokémon have powerful attacks and Abilities. All Radiant Pokémon are Basic Pokémon regardless of if the species is an Evolution of a different species. Their names use "Radiant" as a prefix. For example, a Radiant Pokémon card depicting Charjabug is named "Radiant Charjabug". Radiant Pokémon have the Radiant Pokémon rule, printed in a Rule Box below their artwork. It says that players cannot have more than one Radiant Pokémon card in their deck. However, the "Radiant" naming is part of the card's name, so one player can have, for example, 4 Gardevoir cards and 1 Radiant Gardevoir card in the same deck. Radiant Pokémon do not have Pokédex information printed on their cards, precluding their use in the occasional card that that needs data such as their height.

10. #10δ Delta SpeciesDisabled

    Keys: δ Delta Species

    Disabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

δ Delta Species (Japanese: δ-デルタ種 δ-Delta Species) are a type of Pokémon found in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The term is often shortened to δ, DS, Delta, or Delta Species. They first appeared in the EX Delta Species expansion, and were last released in the EX Dragon Frontiers expansion. δ Delta Species are different from normal Pokémon in that their type is not the expected type for a Pokémon of their species; however, they still have the same Weaknesses that a regular Pokémon of their species would have. For example, Charmander δ is a Lightning-type Pokémon, as opposed to a Fire-type but still has a Weakness to the Water-type rather than gaining a Weakness to the Fighting-type. According to the backstory offered in EX Delta Species, Pokémon in Holon became δ Delta Species upon exposure to the electromagnetic waves emitted by the Holon Research Tower. The scientists that discovered them used the Greek letter δ, as δ Delta Species are the fourth discovered classification of Pokémon after normal Pokémon, Pokémon-ex, and Pokémon ☆. Dual type Pokémon δ always have Metal as their secondary type, and it is nearly always fully evolved Pokémon or Legendary Pokémon that display this. However, with the release of EX Dragon Frontiers, no Pokémon δ displayed this Metal dual type, leading some to believe that these Pokémon became δ Delta Species naturally or the trait was outbred on the island habitats in which they live. Appearance-wise, δ Delta Species Pokémon do not differ from normal Pokémon other than an aura that denotes its type; some have a more distinct aura than others. In EX Delta Species, if a δ Delta Species Pokémon had one of its types changed to something other than Metal, it was always either to Fire or Lightning. This is likely due to the fact that, since these two types are based upon one of the game types each, whereas others are based on more, all cards of those two types shared a single weakness among them: Water and Fighting, respectively. Thus, Fire Pokémon and Lightning Pokémon became more playable by diversifying their weaknesses. Later sets did not do this, however, and Delta Species Pokémon could be of any type. Delta Species Pokémon have "δ Delta Species" between the name and HP, had double helix on the border of the artwork window, and the Evolution box featured a δ design. The designation of δ Delta Species does not affect the name of a Pokémon (e.g. a normal Dragonite can evolve from a Dragonair δ and vice versa). If a card wishes to reference δ Delta Species, it uses the text "Pokémon that has δ on its card," even when the effect has multiple targets. The card Ampharos δ has the Poké-Body Holon Veil, which causes all of Pokémon cards of its owner to be treated as though they have δ on their card. This applies even while those cards are in the deck, hand, or discard pile. Holon Veil has been described as causing the affected Pokémon to become Delta Species, although Holon Veil does not have a type changing effe Within the AI chat It will only appear if {{user}} permits the appearance of δ Delta Species. Pokémon of the δ Delta Species appear as Pokémon with a different primary type compared to Pokémon of the same species. δ Delta Species are rare Pokémon. When a δ Delta Species Pokémon evolves and gains an additional type, its primary type remains unchanged.

11. #11Pokémon BREAKDisabled

    Keys: Pokémon BREAK

    Disabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Pokémon BREAK (Japanese: ポケモンBREAK Pokémon BREAK) are a variant of Pokémon in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. They were first introduced in the BREAKthrough expansion (the Blue Shock and Red Flash expansions in Japan). Pokémon BREAK have a stylized BREAK graphic as part of their card name, used as a suffix; for instance, a Pokémon BREAK depicting Golduck is called GolduckBREAK. Pokémon BREAK are said to come from the Parallel Worlds. Pokémon BREAK are a special kind of Evolution card. They evolve from any normal card of that species via BREAK Evolution. To continue the example, Golduck BREAK evolves from Golduck. BREAK is a Pokémon BREAK's unique stage of Evolution. As such, while they are still Evolution cards and Evolution Pokémon, they are neither Stage 1 Pokémon nor Stage 2 Pokémon. Pokémon BREAK cannot be put into play without evolving from another card.[2] Pokémon BREAK are played sideways over the previous stage, covering the illustration but not the text box of the Pokémon it evolves from. A Pokémon BREAK card has either an attack or an Ability, but lacks a number of characteristics that a normal Pokémon has, namely not having a Weakness, Resistance, or Retreat Cost. The BREAK Evolution rule states that a Pokémon BREAK has the attacks, Abilities, Weaknesses, Resistances, and Retreat Cost of its previous stage. All of these elements are still visible when a Pokémon BREAK is played on top of another Pokémon card. The BREAK Evolution rule is contained within a Rule Box located in the upper right corner of the card. Retaining attacks and Abilities in this manner is similar to the Pokémon LV.X mechanic featured in the Diamond & Pearl Series. Also, like Pokémon LV.X and Pokémon Prime, Pokémon BREAK do not have an associated drawback for being Knocked Out. All Pokémon BREAK cards feature CGI artwork of the Pokémon completely covered in gold, with sparks surrounding it, and a unique squared holofoil pattern in the background. Electricity of a different color per card bursts from the Pokémon. The illustration covers almost the entire card. The accents on the card usually of a silver color, such as the Stage and "evolves from" field, are done in gold instead. The left and right sides of the card have a border that tapers into the illustration, incorporating both the card's Energy type's color and the color of the card's "normal" border. Since Pokémon BREAK are played sideways, their layout is similarly sideways. Elements like name and Energy type wind up printed on the longer side of the card instead of the shorter side. Within the AI chat Unlike Mega Evolution, Pokémon BREAK treats the form as a strengthened version that retains its original type and ability. Pokémon BREAK can only be used with Pokémon that cannot evolve further. Pokémon BREAK is a form used only during battle and reverts to its original form after the battle ends.

The fourth variant of Pokémon V is Pokémon VSTAR, which debuted in the Brilliant Stars expansion. These cards are identified by a VSTAR graphic on the card name. Pokémon VSTAR evolve from a Pokémon V depicting the same species of Pokémon, and Pokémon VSTAR have the unique stage of VSTAR instead of being Stage 1 Pokémon. They feature increased Hit Points and more powerful attacks, as well as an exclusive mechanic called VSTAR Power. VSTAR Powers can be either a powerful attack or potent Ability. However, a player is limited to using one VSTAR Power per game. To track if a player has used a VSTAR Power during a game, each player has a VSTAR marker. Players flip their VSTAR marker to its reverse face after using a VSTAR Power, which is a physical reminder that that player cannot use a second VSTAR Power. Pokémon VSTAR have the VSTAR rule, contained within a Rule Box, that says when a Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, the opponent takes two Prize cards instead of one. When card text refers to Pokémon V, they also include Pokémon VSTAR. While keeping the same layout of Pokémon V, Pokémon VSTAR cards have a white, pearlescent border with gold accents, in contrast to Pokémon V's black border and white accents. All Pokémon VSTAR cards are etched, including the Regular prints. All Regular prints of Pokémon VSTAR depict the Pokémon surrounded by a golden aura. The bottom third of every Pokémon VSTAR card contains the card's VSTAR Power, which is displayed against a dark background with a bright spherical star in the center. All VSTAR Powers, whether they are attacks or Abilities, have the word "Star" in their names. VSTAR Powers are also present in three Pokémon Tool cards: Earthen Seal Stone, Forest Seal Stone, and Sky Seal Stone. These Pokémon Tool cards can be attached to a Pokémon V in order to access their VSTAR Powers. Pokémon VSTAR are Pokémon V that have been blessed with celestial power from Arceus VSTAR.
