Characters in-depth: Liko is a young girl with a light complexion. She has dark blue hair with blue highlights on the inside that is tied with a green clip, and has light blue eyes. She wears a light teal and yellow hexagonal shaped jewel pendant with a white sun-like symbol on the center. It has a three-point attachment at the bottom, resembling a component of the Tera Orb. She wears an aqua blue coat over a white dress shirt, dark blue shorts, long white shin-length socks with aqua blue trims, and white shoes with aqua-colored details. She also wears the Indigo Academy school uniform consisting of a light brown short blazer and skirt, a white dress shirt, a red ribbon, long white socks, brown loafers and a badge with a leaf emblem. During the night, she wears the academy's tracksuit which has a leaf emblem on the front and back of the jacket. As a young child, Liko's hair was shorter, and its bangs covered much of her forehead. She wore a blue and white striped dress that had a dark blue band around the waist, a white collar, and white cuffs. She also wore white socks, and a pair of red shoes with dull pink flowers and accents. One year following the conclusion of the battle in Laqua, Liko's outfit gets swapped for a light blue hooded, short sleeved top with a pocket at the front, a black long sleeved shirt under neath, white shorts, black socks with blue bands and white and blue running shoes. Her hairstyle now incorporates a ponytail and two green hair clips. Personality Liko is the type of person who won't find anything until she searches for it herself. She isn't the most outgoing type, and is more socially awkward and introverted, though she secretly wishes to make friends with others. She is also hoping to strengthen her bond with Sprigatito. She also likes to jot down her experiences in her journal and add illustrations to those entries. When meeting new people, Liko tends to be bashful but also polite towards them. When being pursued by the Explorers, she feels somewhat responsible for putting the school building or the Brave Olivine in danger. In part due to her father Alex being an artist, Liko has higher than average perception, making use of it in her daily life. She can understand an artist's intention through the art they make. She frequently jots down notes on her Sprigatito to be a good partner for it, applying these notes for tasks at hand, such as using Sprigatito's sunbathing habits to quickly locate large numbers of Sunflora in Artazon. Liko also appears to have inherited some of her grandmother's yearning for adventure as noted by her father, having decided to tag along with the Rising Volt Tacklers rather than staying home when they returned to drop her off. Liko is a kind and compassionate girl; however this can lead to hesitation. As seen during the gym challenge at Motostoke Stadium, Liko hesitated to complete her task to extinguish all the Litwick flames after seeing how hard Roy and Fuecoco were working. Again, when seeing how hard Wakaba was working to become a gym trainer. This in turn causes a rift in the relationship between her and Sprigatito who was working hard for her.[1] A year after the events at Laqua, due to a combination of not being able to find Friede, and Spinel lying to the general public about the Rising Volt Tacklers being the ones responsible for destroying Laqua, causing the group to disband. Liko somewhat reverted to how she was at the beginning, being a shy girl who mostly kept to herself. This however changed during her battle with Roy, as she regained her confidence and doesn't care if people know that she was a member of the Rising Volt Tacklers. Liko also becomes determined to uncover the truth from Spinel and The Explorers, and clear the Rising Volt Tacklers' name. Roy is a young boy with a dark complexion. He has black hair with a puffy magenta tuft out front, and magenta eyes. He wears a dark brown hoodie with short white sleeves and a red shirt with a printed R-Unown underneath. He also wears light brown shorts. He wears a dark brown hat that blends in with his hair and a white brim. He also wears sandals with white soles and black and yellow straps, likely meant to resemble Ultra Balls. His satchel is grey. One year later, Roy no longer wears his hat, showing off both his black and magenta hair. He now wears a brown vest with dull yellow accents, a white T-shirt with a printed R-Unown logo, red shorts, black sneakers, and a Mega Ring on his right wrist. He carries a black satchel. Personality Roy has shown to be upbeat and spirited, as he is often excited to look for treasure and go on an adventure. Living in a remote island off of Kanto, Roy is also curious about the world outside his village. He frequently tries to help everyone in need, even if he doesn't know how to go about it. His biggest aspiration is to become a Pokémon Trainer. A year after the events at Laqua, Roy has become a much more skilled Trainer. He also retains his readiness to help, by continuing the search for Friede, and to uncover the truth hidden by Spinel and the Explorers to clear the name of the Rising Volt Tacklers. Skills Singing Upon meeting Fuecoco, Roy sings along with the fire croc Pokémon as both a means of bonding and encouragement. Friede has a confident, adventurous look that suits his role as a Pokémon professor with a love for travel and discovery. He wears a brown aviator jacket with bright yellow fur lining on the collar, cuffs, and hem, adding a bold splash of color to his rugged outfit. The jacket is decorated with colorful patches on both sleeves and a winged emblem on the chest, reinforcing his pilot theme. Underneath, he sports a simple black V-neck shirt tucked into beige pants, which are belted at the waist for a clean, practical style. His tall black boots are accented with red laces and yellow soles, designed for durability and mobility. Friede's hair is spiked and white with black roots, swept dramatically back, and he wears blue-lensed aviator goggles on his forehead, completing his sky-bound aesthetic. Personality Professor Friede is a lively, adventurous, and unconventional Pokémon Professor who breaks the mold of the typical scholarly figure. Charismatic and free-spirited, he brings boundless energy and curiosity to his work, often diving headfirst into the field rather than staying confined to a lab. As the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers, he's both courageous and supportive, serving as a mentor and protector to his team, especially the young protagonists like Liko and Roy. Despite his laid-back and sometimes chaotic appearance—complete with his trademark goggles and leather jacket—Friede is highly intelligent, resourceful, and deeply passionate about Pokémon research. He's approachable, good-humored, and brave, often balancing moments of comic relief with genuine wisdom and leadership. His bond with his partner Pokémon, Captain Pikachu, reflects his loyalty and deep sense of camaraderie. Despite his Professor title, he prefers to be referred by name and does not like being called a professor. Friede and his group were hired by Lucca to protect her daughter, who had gone to Indigo Academy in Kanto. Upon arriving, Friede and his group tried to find Liko to no avail. Later in the day, Friede found Liko being pursued by Amethio and the Explorers, and he took her away with him.[2] While introducing Liko to the other members and resident Pokémon, Amethio and his group had caught up to them, so Friede tried to lose them in a nearby storm. As his Charizard was busy powering the furnace, he had to use his Pikachu to battle Amethio. Liko initially wanted them to stop fighting, but after her Sprigatito refused, it unleashed a powerful Leafage that destroyed the barrier around the ship's wind deck. Friede managed to grab Liko, but was unable to get Sprigatito, who ended up being saved by Amethio but was not returned.[3] Friede and the group later arrived at a nearby port to look for Sprigatito, eventually discovering the Explorers there. Knowing Amethio was a strong Trainer, he concocted a plan with Liko to distract him so she could find her Sprigatito. The plan was successful and they returned to the ship, where he revealed to her that he and his group were hired by her mother to protect her. He then decided to head to back to Paldea to claim some of the owed money, as they couldn't go adventuring otherwise.[4] Friede gave Dot a Pokéball, and offered her some advice after she caught it. Friede requestrf the teams to split up and 'look for anyone who might seem suspicious' after Murdock's team arrived, while he will roam from a top down view with help from Charizard. After a cargo ship decided to leave, Liko told Friede that there may be a problem at the ship, so he ordered Charizard to go there. He found a suspicious Trainer and chooses Cap to take on the suspect Trainer, who sent out Bisharp. Friede won after Thunder Punch finished off Bisharp. He then confronts and questions the suspect, but Pikachu declines that he's the culprit. Soon, he got a call from Murdock, reporting that Dot's signal was jammed. He brought Charizard over to the harbor find the source of the signal jam, which Mollie believed to be on the container ship.[5] Friede initiated a battle on the deck between his two Pokémon: Cap and Charizard, which Roy overheard and decided to watch along with his two Pokémon. Friede soon calls to stop the battle, the two Pokémon became thankful to each other after a good battle. After Roy questioned him about them battling, he explained the benefits to Roy, who then got an idea and initiates Cap go up against Fuecoco and Wattrel in a one-on-two battle. After seeing his Pikachu win, Dot warned Friede about a storm approaching, and demanded everyone to head inside. He moved to the cockpit during and after the storm. He then noticeed Roy missing out on dinner. The next day, he and Cap are demanded by Roy to have a rematch, which Friede accepted. His Pikachu won the rematch after Cap defeated Wattrel with Thunder Punch and dodged Fuecoco's Tackle by flying, causing the latter to keep going, crash and faint, but despite this, commended Roy for his efforts in battle.[6] During their voyage, Liko and Roy, accompanied by a video recording, entered the cockpit without permission, giving him and Cap suspicious looks. They question him in excitement about what their secret is, where they met and how Pikachu became captain, but he holds them back. After Orla initiates an announcement for the rest of the crew to gather, Friede caves in and tells them his whole story.[1] When the Rising Volt Tacklers ran out of money, Friede took a commission from Shine, one of his acquaintances, to look for his Bramblin. During the commission, they ran into a group of Pokémon hunters, who had abducted Bramblin. Friede successfully defeated the hunters with Pikachu.[7] Friede announces that the team head off to Steelbound Town in the Paldea region to resupply the airship, which they accept. After Dot, Liko and Roy return to the ship, he overhears Orla's anger, accusing the team of stealing the metal, before he claims that Orla is the only onee getting angry. A moment later, Friede overhears a chase going on in the ship involving the new Tinkatink. Liko tells him that the Tinkatink stole the metal according to Murdock. Friede overhears Dot and arrives at the basement, confirming her thoughts that another Pokemon is responsible for eating the metal. He explains to Roy and Liko that the metal was eaten rather than stolen thanks to him recognizing the chew marks on the broken metal pieces, which Tinkatink doesn't do, therefore reassuring the Pokemon. After noticing the ship tilting, he commands Charizard to tug the ship back upright, which they do so successfully, while leaving Dot, Quaxly and Tinkatink to stop Orthworm. Dot captures Tinkatink to unite the two. Orla is a young woman with green eyes, brown hair with orange tips, a black t-shirt, orange baggy pants, black and dark green boots and a yellow jacket tied around her waist. She also wears gloves and a fanny pack. Personality Orla is extremely professional in mechanics, and she takes her job as the airship's mechanic diligently and seriously, although she often overworks herself to exhaustion with the repairs. However, she is more clumsy on other practical tasks she is assigned to do. When not dealing with maintenance, Orla is a merry and friendly individual. She is also close to Friede, whom she has been friends with since childhood. Orla and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers are hired by Lucca to protect her daughter Liko, [2] and they befriend Liko who joins them.[3] When the Brave Olivine is forced to be berthed onto the island where Roy lives, Orla has to fix the ship's airbag, but ends up getting stuck and has to ask for Murdock's assistance.[4] After being interviewed by an excited Roy and Liko about Friede, Orla makes an announcement on her phone for all crew members to join in a listen to Friede's story, which annoys Friede and Captain Pikachu, but Orla encourages him, saying that it's good for friends to know more about each other. After all the 'guests' arrive, Friede soon caves in and tells them his story about how he became friends with Cap.[1] Along with Liko, Roy, and Friede, Orla meets Karna who has the Ancient Poké Ball. Both Orla and Karna become fast friends over mechanics, and Orla also helps optimizing Karna's production with her own expertise. She also helps calming down a horde of wild Galarian Weezing under Friede's commands. However, Orla decides to decline the offer from Karna when being asked to stay behind, as she doesn't want to leave the Rising Volt Tacklers behind. She also tells Liko her past in Hoenn, and continues to serve the rest of the crewmates on mechanical maintenance.[5] After Friede's announcement to the team that they'll be heading to Steelbound Town, Orla becomes excited, mentioning that it's a great place to stock up on spare parts. After Orla sees Dot, Liko and Roy return to the ship, she checks down at the basement in order to repair something, before screaming in horror at the suddenly bent and broken pieces of metal, becoming angry at the rest of the team, initially putting the blame on Murdock for using the metal to make cooking utensils, which he declines. It is soon revealed that Orthworm was the culprit, in which she watches Dot, Quaxly and Tinkatink stop them. Tinkatink unites with Dot and joins the Rising Volt Tacklers.[6] Murdock is a tall and muscular man with dark skin. His hair is a simple buzz-cut with four gray triangular parts on the top, depicting a knife and fork, and he has a short beard along with gray eyebrows. His clothing consists of a cream colored button up with light red x's on the collar, two light red patterns on the bottom, and a light red pocket. His shorts are white with blue stripes on the side, a blue wrap around his ankle and light yellow closed sandals. He has two red handkerchiefs, one around his neck and the other on his arm. There are a light blue, yellow, white, and gold watch on his right wrist. Personality Despite his rough appearance, he is generally pretty friendly and enjoys cooking. He is also tender towards his loved ones, such as his Rockruff. Due to his over-affectionate side, sometimes Murdock's younger companions or family members will get annoyed with his tendency to dote on them. This is shown whenever Dot finds him annoying due to his worries and nags, and thus acts strained towards him. He once mentioned that his niece Dot got so irritated with him after he kept asking what she had been eating. Murdock and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers are hired by Lucca to protect her daughter Liko, [2] and they befriend Liko who joins them.[3] When Liko's Sprigatito is held hostage by Amethio, Murdock lets his Rockruff to accompany Liko on searching for Sprigatito.[4] Murdeock instructs his Rockruff to battle against Zirc's Rhydon in order to protect the Brave Olivine, but is at a disadvantage. He and Orla then instruct the wild Pokémon brought by Roy to repair the ship's leaking air bag, so as to help the ship be up and running again.[5] Murdock later reveals that the Rising Volt Tacklers' data collector and app developer is his niece Dot, who is also the peson behind Nidothing.[6] He also sneakily uses a lot of ingredients under Friede's allowance in order to entice Dot into tasting his treats, and is excited and relieved once learning that she has started eaeting his desserts.[7] When chatting with Orla and Friede, who mentions that Dot was always annoyed of Murdock pestering her about her diertary pereferences, Murdock admits that he only did so out of goodwill and looking after Dot on behalf of his own sister, but also acknowledges that an elder relative like him should tone down his concerns to avoid annoying their younger family members.[8] Murdock eventually reunites with Mitchell. Despite their awkward meeting, he eventually battles Mitchell alongside Liko, and the two reconcile after a baking showcase.[1] After Friede's announcement to the team that they'll be heading to Steelbound Town, Roy and Liko agree that Dot should come with them for this mission, which causes a heated debate after Murdock disagrees with the idea, saying that Dot has plenty of work she can do on the ship. After seeing Dot purchase an item in her handbag, he rushes over and hugs her for going into town and purchasing something on her own, before Dot pushes him back for "over-doing it", before suggesting hosting a party for her triumph. After overhearing Orla's scream and being blamed for using Orla's metal, it is soon revealed that Orthworm was the culprit, in which he watches Dot, Quaxly and Tinkatink stop them and Tinkatink uniting with Dot and joining the Rising Volt Tacklers.[9] Murdock is surprised when his sister Franka visits the Brave Olivine and tells him that she is planning to pick Dot up. He later tears up after watching Dot and Quaxly successfully defeat Franka's Lycanroc.[10] After the Brave Olivine is damaged by Rayquaza, Murdock begins to work part-time at Patisserie Soapberry in order to raise money for the repairs. When Liko, Roy and Dot arrive in Cortondo to complete Liko's trial, he reunites with them and introduces Katy to them. He also witnesses Liko and Floragato passing Katy's dessert making test and Terastalisation battle. Mollie is a slender young woman with pink hair and gray eyes. Her outfit is a short red and gray jacket, light pink dress, gray pantyhose and dark pink shoes. For accessories, she wears earclips and a gray short headband. Mollie Mega Voltage profile Mollie's one-year timeskip appearance. One year later, Mollie's pink hair is tied onto a single left ponytail. She now wears a dark red and white jacket, her dress has more dark magenta buttons and accents, and her shoes are now black and white with dark pink fasteners. She retains her gray pantyhose. Personality Mollie is a serious individual when it comes to ensuring the well being of the crew members and the Pokémon onboard the Brave Olivine. She can get annoyed by Friede's negligence such as in informing Liko about the situation. Although rarely displaying significant emotions, Mollie is an expert in the medical field, and is a caring individual who aims to provide the best medical treatment for her companions. Mollie and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers are hired by Lucca to protect her daughter Liko,[3] and they befriend Liko who joins them.[4] Mollie later tells Liko to run an errand of obtaining her reserved prescriptions from a Pokémon Center.[5] When Amethio and his two henchmen attack, Mollie sends out her Chansey against Zirc's Rhydon, but is overwhelmed.[6] Mollie accompanies Liko and Roy to the forest where Lucius' Arboliva resides in, and she tells Liko her past during break time. She later rescues an injured Paldean Wooper, and along with the Wooper calms down the angry Arboliva, who mistakes Liko and Roy for being intruders. This in turn helps Liko and Roy earn Arboliva's trust.[1] When Liko brings forth a weakened Hatenna for Mollie to have a checkup on, Mollie tells her that the Hatenna is only stressed out from receiving too many negative emotions. Mollie later makes up with Orla to assure Hatenna that everyone on the Brave Olivine are good friends.[7] She is later glad that Hatenna has become one of Liko's teammates.[8] Mollie and her Chansey find out that there is a pair of Tandemaus that need medical attention through Hatenna's pleas. After treating the singular injured Tandemaus, Mollie and Chansey arrive at a cave where Liko and Sprigatito volunteer to get the other Tandemaus out, only to find out that the Tandemaus has more members needed to be helped. When a fallen tree blocks the entrance of the cave, Mollie lets Hatenna search for Liko after Chansey gives Hatenna an egg, while she calls for the other Rising Volt Tackler members' help. She is relieved when Liko is safe, and learns that the injured Pokémon are actually a family of Maushold. She and her Chansey later struggle to give the Maushold checkups due to the Family Pokémon's activeness.[9] When the Rising Volt Tacklers reunited with former member Wy-Yes, Mollie got mad at him and ordered her Chansey to blast Wy-Yes and his Wynaut off. She later helped the kids when she and the other adults learned that they were fighting against some Psychic-type Pokémon. After parting with Wy-Yes again, Mollie admitted to Liko that as much as she still has resentment towards him, some of his tall tales are mixed with truths, especially when he has Wynaut speak for him.[2] After Spinel smeared the Rising Volt Tacklers' name, which forced the Rising Volt Tacklers to disband and go their separate ways, Mollie had to return to her family's Pokémon Center in Uirou City to treat injured or sick Pokémon, while also looking after her Maushold. Mollie along with Liko and Roy then battled a Vileplume that was affected by Laquium and was causing many Pokémon to fall ill. After Pagogo purified the Vileplume, Mollie said she still had much to learn at the Center, but promised that Liko and Roy that she would be rejoining them when one day she would feel ready to do so.[10] Eventually, Mollie rejoined the Rising Volt Tacklers after Orla contacted her about the Brave Olivine being renonvated, and her mother respected her choice to flt aboard again after listening to Mollie's wish.[11] During her debut as Nidothing, she is usually seen wearing a full body Nidorina costume with simple, round eyes. She has a large zipper on the front of her suit. Under the suit, Dot is a young girl with purple and pink hair with a fringe covering her purple eyes. She also wears a dark purple tank top, green pants and a Glameow-inspired jacket. She would sometimes wear Snorlax slippers but is otherwise barefooted. When preparing for her livestreams or Pokémon battles, Dot would put on a black headband to pull back her hair and reveal her eyes. Although her eyes are usually covered, her face looks similar to her uncle Murdock's when uncovered. Dot would later wear a dull indigo vest with pink pockets and buttons, and her left pocket has a purple upside-down 9. Her sleeves are of pale lime green and dark green. Her trousers are maroon, and her sneakers are dark blue with pink laces and white accents. Dot timeskip profile Dot's one year timeskip outfit. After the one-year timeskip, part of Dot's left bangs have been cut, revealing her left eye. She has grown her hair longer as well. She wears a purple jacket with light pink and white accents, with a printed pink and white logo on her right. Behind her jacket is a white fluff appendange. She wears her green pants, while her slippers are of teal color. She has a set of cyan headphones with a loose cable around her neck. Personality As Nidothing, she acts all energetic, but will also provide advice to beginner trainers providing various subjects such as catching and battling. When not in her Nidothing costume, Dot tends to spend most of her time in her quarters creating videos. If someone wants to talk to her, Dot has her Quaxly deliver messages to them. Dot also finds interacting with others bothersome, as shown when Liko tried talking to her and making Dot frustrated. However, Dot is slowly opening up as she was visibly touched by Liko's kindness and determination but does wonder why she wanted to be friends with her. Also, Dot does feel guilty for her unwelcoming attitude towards others as she secretly makes it up to them whether she is herself or Nidothing. Regardless of whether being Nidothing or not, Dot is intelligent as she was the one who created an app for the Rising Volt Tacklers that is compatible with their Rotom Phones. In the original Japanese version, she uses the gender pronoun「僕ぼく」(boku) when talking, which is primarily used by males, though can also be used by females when associated with tomboys. Gibeon is an elderly man with long, silver hair that has a light pink ombré color, and dark pink eyes. As seen when Gibeon used a fragment of Laquium on one of his sleeves, when it is inserted the sleeve's lines turn from purple and green to pink. There is also a black cannula that almost looks like a noodle from the upper back of his shirt to neck through his hair, which means that he invented his clothes to make himself an eternity. In his youth, Gibeon's hair was bluer in hues, and lacked the pink shades. Personality Gibeon is depicted as a ruthless, greedy man who desires to enter Laqua and capture Terapagos at all cost. He is very stoic and rarely displays emotions. He is also very strategic with his plans on capturing Terapagos and the six of Lucius' Pokémon. Being an opportunist, Gibeon is also a poor judge of character, and cares more about his ambition than his own family. Unfortunately, this combination of Gibeon's flawed characteristics has not only damaged his relationship with his own relatives and even his own Zygarde, but also results in him being betrayed by Spinel, whom he has misplaced his trust on. Despite his flaws, Gibeon isn't blind to reasoning. At the end of his life, he finally heeds Lucius and Amethio's words, and gets to ascend to the afterlife peacefully. Gibeon is first mentioned by Amethio and Hamber. It is implied by both of them that Gibeon himself is vying after Liko's pendant.[4] He later has Spinel replaced Amethio's role in searching for the pendant.[5] After Amethio lost against Lucius' Rayquaza, Gibeon reveals to Amethio and Hamber that the Rayquaza and Terapgos are the keys to enter the rumored paradise Laqua.[6] Gibeon later tells his subordinates to let the Rising Volt Tacklers to search for all six of Lucius' Pokémon, and agrees with Spinel that they can help him seize Terapagos once it has its full power restored. After the meeting, he mutters to himself, "Once more to Laqua, and Laquium will be mine. This adventure of ours is not over yet. Isn't that right, Lucius?"[7] Gibeon eventually makes his in-person debut, having a long-awaited physical conversation with his grandson Amethio. He demands Amethio to not fail him like his former son-in-law did with stealing more Laquium, while he continues to wait for Terapagos's reawakening.[8] After receiving footage about Amethio from Spinel, Gibeon doesn't question the footage's legitimacy. Instead, he gets vehemently furious at Amethio, and fires his grandson on the spot by telling the boy to never show his face again.[9] Eventually, Gibeon believes that the timing to venture into Laqua is right, after hearing Sidian's report. He also meets up with Chalce and Spinel, telling them that his wish is coming true. However, he is oblivious to Spinel's plans on betraying him.[3] Once he realizes Lucius has been kept alive by Laquium for a century, Gibeon is enraged at his former friend, whom he has been believing to have betrayed him and made his own Zygarde turn on him. Gibeon proceeds to excavate more Laquium under Spinel's enticement, despite Lucius' warning on how Spinel has been plotting to monopolize Laquium for himself, no longer believing that anyone cares about his ambition enough to support him.[10] Eventually, Zygarde got fed up with Gibeon, and abandoned him.[11] Even worse, as Gibeon falls into a state of despair at losing his partner Pokémon and everything he has been seeking, Spinel betrays the old man as his ambition is already falling into shambles. However, after finally listening to Amethio and Lucius's sage words about bonds between people and Pokémon, Gibeon changes his mind, and accepts that his life is going to meet its end. Eventually, Gibeon gets to peacefully pass on to the afterlife after thanking his grandson.[12] Amethio is a young boy with purple eyes. Along with his black and silver hair color, he wears black pants with a purple stripe on his right side. He also wears a dark purple sweatshirt with a purple stripe going down his left side, black gloves, and dark purple shoes. His attire is donned with a polo tie with a dark purple triangular gem. As a child, Amethio wore a white long-sleeved shirt, grey suspenders, as well as black socks and shoes. As a preteen, Amethio wore a white shirt, a grey sleeveless sweatervest, black trousers and shoes. He also started wearing his polo tie during that age. After the one-year timeskip, Amethio's hair has grown longer and shaggier, and is now tied into a mini ponytail. His clothes and shoes have become visibly ragged, and he has also lost his polo tie and gloves. Part of his black hair is inherited from his father Cervantes, while his silver sided hair and purple eyes are passed down from his mother and grandfather's parentage.[1] Personality Calm and collected, Amethio belies his manipulativeness and ruthlessness. He is willing to meet his own ends, even if it means harming others with his cruel actions. He also doesn't like his credit being disregarded or repudiated, even going far lengths to prove himself regardless of going against orders. Despite his coldness, ruthlessness, and callousness, he has a softer side that he would rather deny. For example, he would reassure Zirc and Onia even if they have failed, albeit in a matter-of-factly way. He also cares about his Ceruledge, who is his partner Pokémon, although he prefers not to show his affection towards it. Spinel has teal hair with fluffy strands that extend down to his shoulders, with a dark teal tint near the end of his bangs. His eyes are narrow, and are colored in two tones between soft pink and sky blue. His outfit is of a dark blue side-cape with a silver-and-blue gem clip, a black bodysuit, and a light teal coat and boots with yellow buttons and black accents. Spinel Mega Voltage Spinel's appearance after the one year timeskip During the one-year timeskip, Spinel has shortened his hair, which he adorns into a ponytail with a blue gem. His coat and cape have become more partially dark blue, with their accents becoming more light yellow. He also wears an additional blue necktie. Personality Spinel is a crafty and intelligent individual, using both to deceive his opponents. Unlike his fellow admin Amethio, Spinel prefers working behind-the-scenes, as shown with his battling Pokémon, having outfitted them with devices to monitor and order them from afar, which he uses to conduct his own plans. He is a master of disguise and maintains his composure to avoid giving his identity away. He is extremely fond of his Umbreon; it is his ace battler, who he does not send out unless in dire circumstances or against a worthy opponent. It is always seen by his side and he is known to pat it on the head. However, he will still take advantage of Umbreon's loyalty to make it do his dirty bidding against its will. Spinel also lacks any sort of loyalty to most of his colleagues. Out of all of his colleagues, he has the most animosity towards Amethio, and he has no qualms with applying cruel methods to throw him under the bus and undermine Gibeon's trust of Amethio. He also has no qualms on betraying his boss Gibeon, who had once invested much trust in him by exploiting Gibeon's ambitions for his own selfish agenda. Despite his composure, Spinel can still become volatile and impulsive if things go south rather than according to his plan. He is also rather arrogant of his own strategies without being aware of his own equal share of weaknesses. After Amethio reported back on his failure to acquire Liko's pendant due to a black Rayquaza interfering at the last moment, Spinel doubted his claims and began arguing with him before Hamber stopped them. Gibeon then decided to hand the mission over to him, resulting in Amethio setting his sights on Rayquaza.[2] Upon learning that the Rising Volt Tacklers were in Paldea in a forest near Artazon, Spinel sent his Magneton to cause an electrical interference to get their attention. Alongside his Beheeyem, the two Pokémon relayed information back to him regarding their capabilities, Pokémon and the artifacts in their possession, leaving him impressed. He then declared that their adventure with the pendant would be over before it started.[3] Spinel later discovered the Brave Olivine and sent a large group of Magneton to interfere with the ship's electrical systems, resulting in the ship being stuck near Levincia as he appeared to set his plan in motion to take the pendant.[4] After battling Friede, Spinel hacked into Liko's Rotom Phone in order to lure her away from her friends upon learning that she was looking for Herba Mystica. Spinel caught up to Liko in disguise, using his Beheeyem to hypnotize her, her Sprigatito and her Rotom Phone. Once he took the pendant, Spinel had his Beheeyem use its powers to erase Liko, Sprigatito and Rotom's memory of the incident. After Liko, Sprigatito and Rotom snapped out of their trance, Spinel left them in their amnesiac state with the pendant in his possession.[5] When the Rising Volt Tacklers tried to search for Liko, Spinel fed them false information that she was in Artazon. Despite his attempts to misdirect them, they eventually found Liko in Levincia, prompting him to believe that she had some fight in her after all. During this time, he was studying the pendant, discovering that it was similar to a Tera Orb but knew there was much more hidden to it.[6] Spinel later tried to make his getaway on a ship leaving Levincia, even hiring someone to distract them, but the Rising Volt Tacklers were able to find him without much difficulty due to the ancient Poké Ball in Liko's possession reacting with the amulet he had stored. During the battle against Liko and her friends, he became unusually angry after Beheeyem and Magneton were defeated by starter Pokémon, forcing him to send out Umbreon. In the ensuing fiasco, the ancient Poké Ball in Liko's possession reacted with the amulet, causing Arboliva to appear, which amazed him, but he was forced to back off after Umbreon reminded him of the threat. Spinel was later summoned to a meeting where he was taunted by Coral and questioned by Chalce over the pendant, though he remained mostly silent on the issue. Once the meeting was over, he looked out at the ocean, musing that he could not submit unverified information and expressed a greater interest in the truth behind Liko and her pendant.[7] Spinel was mentioned to have helped Chalce at an Explorers Research Facility while the Rising Volt Tacklers were in Galar.[8] He later fed false information about Rayquaza to the Rising Volt Tacklers and suggested to the rest of the Explorers to continue pursuing the Rising Volt Tacklers and reclaim the pendant which is now a Terapagos. However, his request was denied as the other members wanted to focus on the Shiny Rayquaza.[9] Spinel arrived at Glaseado Mountains, and cornered both Liko and Amethio. He effortlessly defeated Amethio's Ceruledge with his Laquium-powered Umbreon, when he witnessed Terapagos neutralizing the effects and transforming. He then trapped both Liko and Amethio inside a cave, and told Chalce about his discovery. He also stated Amethio is a nuisance to the Explorers due to Amethio being related to Gibeon, and thus he wished to eliminate the boy out of his competition.[10] He then succeeded in getting Amethio fired by Gibeon, by framing the boy with his Beheeyem that would look like Amethio was betraying the Explorers.[11]Knowing that Hamber was starting to suspect him and Chalce, both Spinel and Chalce decided not to report their updates regarding their research on Laquium and Terapagos.[12] After Amethio left Cervantes' office in disappointment, Spinel entered the office and agreed with how Amethio had become rebellious.[13] Spinel would later be chosen to come to Laqua with Gibeon, while planning his ulterior motives to monopolize Laquium for himself. Although he ordered his security to capture Amethio, Zirc and Onia, they were later saved by Hamber after Spinel left them for dead.[1] Spinel, along with Coral, Chalce and Sidian, appears before Professor Friede and the kids to confront them in Laqua.[14] Spinel then deployed Umbreon and Beheeyem against Friede, who sent out Captain Pikachu and Charizard. At first, Spinel had the advantage by having Beheeyem use Skill Swap on Captain Pikachu to swap out Telepathy for Lightning Rod. However, Spinel lost his cool when he realized Friede made him fall into the trap of letting Beheeyem get closer to Charizard, who then defeated Beheeyem with Dark-type Tera Blast without affecting Captain Pikachu. After Umbreon was soon defeated by Captain Pikachu, Spinel barely managed to recollect himself, before hurrying his footsteps into Laqua's depths.[15]Despite Lucius being aware of Spinel's ulterior motives, Spinel proceeded to persuade Gibeon to keep excavating Laquium, while encouraging the other Explorer members to do the same and even sending out his own Magnezone to absorb the surrounding electricity to reinforce his own agenda of mass excavation of Laquium.[16] After Gibeon's Zygarde abandoned its Trainer, who later ascended to the afterlife, Spinel revealed himself to be the mastermind as he decided to brainwash five of Lucius' Pokémon, minus Shiny Rayquaza, with strong spraying balls of Laquium to make them go into a mindless rampage, whilst continuing his ambition for annexing Laqua to his benefit. To justify his own reasoning, Spinel claimed that he was very loyal to Gibeon, and so deserved to inherit Gibeon's will by surpassing his deceased boss.[17] One year later, Spinel had taken over as the leader of the Explorers and also Exceed's CEO position, while maintaining his charismatic facade to the public by blaming the fault on the Rising Volt Tacklers and framing himself as a hero. It is also revealed that he has also captured the five of the Six Heroes except Rayquaza captive, while plotting to continue his exploitation on Laquium under the guise of environmental protection and conservation.[17] Spinel also lied to the public that Amethio was deceased, even though the boy was only missing for a year.[18] After learning from his subordinates Rubella and Indy about their failures caused by the regrouped Rising Volt Tacklers, Spinel reassured them that failing is a normal part of life. After Rubella and Indy left his office, Spinel reasserted his ambition to destroy the Rising Volt Tacklers, believing that he would be able to curb them under his thumb once and for all.[19] Chalce is an adult woman who has brown skin and eyes, thick lips, and dark brown hair in large dreadlocks. She wears a white long-sleeved shirt equipped with dark orange clips, brown and black belts around her waist, a dark orange skirt with dull yellow rims, and white boots in blue accents and yellow buttons. Her dreadlocks are adorned with large pale beige and blue trapezoid accessories, and her forehead, neck and wrists with dark orange rings. She also has three Poké Balls around her hip. Personality Though a calm and collected individual, Chalce will not hesitate to call out her allies for messing up their missions such as harshly calling out Spinel for losing the pendant. Like Spinel, she regards Amethio as a liability. Coral is a short girl with rose-pink hair with medium-length bangs, that have two long strands hanging on the sides. Her hair is tied in two pigtails fastened with white hairbands, accessorized with a bandage on her hair. Her eyes are dark brown, and normally wears a black baggy shoulder-less top with small pink spikes on the side. Under her sleeves she wears long nails of a pink color similar to the pink of her hair. She wears a short, black skirt with a yellow pattern down the side, fastened by a yellow belt. Coral also wears a pair of high-top socks with a yellow patch on the tops, and on her left leg, a patch is left empty, while on the right, she has a bandage right below her knee. Her shoes are black high-tops with a white band on the top. When attending Naranja Academy, Coral wears the signature Naranja Academy uniform, but her hair is tied into two braids with pink spheres with black spikes on the tops of the braids. She also wears dark blue leggings that fade to a lighter blue, with star-like patterns loosely scattered on them. After the 1-year timeskip, Coral still wears her hair the same way, but her clothing has changed drastically. She now wears a black crop-top with a gold and white cross at the center, and a white stripe below it. She also wears a pair of black sleeves, each with a bandage on the underside and two pink spikes on the side. Her skirt is now a black skirt with a gold buckle on top, a gold and white "x" shape down the center and a white stripe that starts from the x and ends at the end of the skirt. She also wears a pair of black high-top socks that go up to her thighs, but with a gold stripe at the top, two white dots on the sides, a pair of gold and white bandages on each side, but in different places. She still wears black high-tops, but they are now decorated with a pair of small pink spikes on the back. Personality Coral is usually frivolous and playful, but also very sharp-tongued with passive-aggressive nasty remarks. Nevertheless, she will become reckless and short-fused if things do not follow her whims. She is especially unhinged when facing against her foes, willing to use destructive measures to annihilate them. Coral is shown to be extremely bratty when things don't go her way. Unfortunately, her poor attitude often gets into her trouble as she ended up being disqualified from battling Katy after she has her Glalie attack everyone in the bakery following her embarrassing loss and when she was given an automatic loss during her tag-battle with Kofu against Larry due to Glalie using Self-Destruct to knock out all Pokémon on the field. Ann has a sharp buck tooth, light purple eyes, black and purplish hair, both sides of the two pinned leaves in which she wears odango. She wears the dark blue, white, red stripes and rectangles sweater, black and red zigzag skirt, part of the sweater, light bluish pants, and white, red, square yellow, and black on the bottom. She also wears the Indigo Academy school uniform consisting of a light brown short blazer and skirt, a white dress shirt, a red ribbon, long white socks, brown loafers and a green jeweled badge. Personality Ann is an energetic girl who is supportive of her friends such as when she encourages Liko to further her bond with her partner Pokémon. She also thinks that Liko's Hatenna is so cute since Liko caught Hatenna before finding Lucius' Moltres.
