- #1Pō Town
Keys: Shady House, Pō Town, Po Town
Pō Town is the base of operations for Team Skull, located in UlaʻUla Island. Having once been one of Alola’s many quaint, peaceful settlements, a spike in Ultra Beast encounters rattled the town to the point where not only was it abandoned, but massive walls were put in place around the town limits to try and prevent such Pokémon from running amok across Alola. After the encounters stopped, few moved back in, trying their best to ignore those eyesore walls… until Team Skull came and forced them out. Sure, the roads are a mess, electricity is still working by some miracle, and there’s zero businesses remaining (Not counting the Pokémon center a couple of grunts run), but hey, a bunch of young misfits need SOMEWHERE to live! To make sure no one tries to kick them out, the gang even used the town’s status as an electrical hub on the island to hold the flow of power hostage; ignore how the effects are minor, at worst. The centerpiece of the town is the abandoned mansion, which the grunts nicknamed ‘The Shady House.’ Though it is as much of a dilapidated, graffiti-filled mess as the rest of town, it’s where Team Skull does meetings at and is where Guzma, Plumeria, and a few other high-ranking grunts stay.
- #2Team Skull
Keys: numbskull, Grunts, Team Skull, Skull Grunts, numbskulls
Team Skull is the closest the Alola Region can get to a proper terrorist organization, though even their own members wouldn’t really call themselves such. Largely comprised of a bunch of misfit trainers who failed the Island Challenge, they have garnered a slight habit of mischief: stealing goods, vandalism, loitering, with maybe a few serious acts sprinkled in, like kidnapping Pokémon or people (the latter is really rare). It is still not enough to get people to take them TOO seriously, viewing the gang as a sympathetic slight inconvenience, overall. One could argue the stability and camaraderie the members have with each other is even a boon, preventing them from individually doing WORSE acts.
- #3Guzma
Keys: Guzma
Guzma is the head of Team Skull and a young adult who used to be friends with regional Professor Kukui. Both were protégés of Melemele Island Kahuna Hala, but Guzma left them on bad terms after Kukui kept beating him in battles. Nowadays, Guzma has vowed to become the strongest trainer in Alola while NOT using Z-Rings, Mega Evolution, or other sorts of gimmicks, relying strictly on his skills and his Pokémon’s talents. In this endeavor, he helped create Team Skull, and though he has garnered respect, even amongst those not in Team Skull, Plumeria knows his rude, thuggish, and cool demeanor masks his own insecurities. He had a rough childhood and bad parents, which made him desperately lacking self-esteem and/or confidence at times. Still, he is a decent guy with morals, relatively speaking, and cares for the gang desperately, especially Plumeria. She’s his right-hand lady for a reason, and both can sympathize heavily with each other’s plight. They have a sibling dynamic, and though there are a couple of squabbles, they wouldn’t change each other for the world.
- #4Lusamine
Keys: Lusamine
Lusamine Aether is the wealthy CEO and owner of the Aether Foundation, an organization dedicated to treating and providing refuge to helpless Pokémon. It is by far the largest corporate entity in Alola, and arguably the largest worldwide, and many would say her personality is that of a motherly figure and well-meaning lady who, despite a plethora of family woes, has worked hard on her utopian vision. In reality, she is a bit of a psychopath, having made her children run off from her neglect and has ordered questionable research on extradimensional Pokémon, if some of the rumors they got are any sign. To try and tie up such loose ends, she came to Guzma and requested his and Team Skull’s services as her lackeys, claiming to fully see his potential as a trainer. This pact of theirs is known by few Team Skull members, including Plumeria. Though she has a feeling Lusamine is being manipulative and is using Guzma's self-esteem issues against him, the money she has sent them HAS helped with the needs of Team Skull’s members, and thus keeps quiet. Pokémon: Milotic, Clefable, Lilligant, Mismagius, Bewear
- #5Gladion
Keys: Gladion
Gladion Aether is the estranged son of Lusamine and the would-be heir to the Aether Foundation, had he not run off a few years ago. Ever since that day, he has traveled abroad or stayed in Alola, his skills, edgy/rebellious personality, and strong Pokémon (One of which is unique) catching the eye of Guzma and Plumeria. In exchange for offering him shelter and refuge, he is somewhat of a member, doing small tasks or being an occasional muscle for the group, despite his more merciful tendencies. He’s not really seen by Team Skull grunts as a true member, thus sometimes verbally clashes with them. Plumeria treats him somewhat better, somewhat sympathizing with his family issues, though their bond is decent, at best. She DID ambush him when they first met to see his trainer skills firsthand, and a part of her does not see him as a proper Team Skull member, after all. Still, she can tell he has a lot of inner demons, and if he needs something, she'll help, like she will with anyone else in Team Skull. Pokémon - Type: Null, Umbreon, Porygon-Z, Lycanroc, Lucario, Weavile
- #6Lillie
Keys: Lillie
Lillie Aether is the daughter of Lusamine and the theoretical heiress to the Aether Foundation. Compared to her brother Gladion’s rebellious, loner nature, she is more a kindred and somewhat timid spirit, having endured their mother’s madness far longer. She ran away with some mysterious Pokémon a few months ago, and Lusamine did promise Plumeria and Guzma a healthy sum of cash for capturing her daughter. The two somewhat regret it, if Gladion's implications of Lusamine is anything close to accurate, but money is money, and they got a gang to feed.
- #7Selene
Keys: Selene, Miss Poison, Ms. Poison
Selene is an up-and-coming trainer whose family recently moved to the Alola region. Despite barely being an adult, the brat apparently possesses a massive intellect, even having medical licenses in Toxicology and Pharmacology. Such a mind translates well to battling tactics, in which, like Plumeria, she mainly uses Poison-types, which Plumeria can respect a little bit. Still doesn’t mean she likes Selene, especially when getting in the way of Team Skull grunts. Pokémon: Charjabug, Mareanie, Muk, Decidueye
- #8Elio
Keys: Elio
Elio is an immigrant and an up-and-coming trainer, as well as Selene’s twin. Compared to her smart, calm nature, Elio is way more of an idiot, having a fiery spirit, immense financial literacy and bank account, with scrappy battling style, to boot. He also gets in Team Skull’s way, gullibility at times be damned. Pokémon: Incineroar, Meowth (Alolan variant), Wishiwashi, Crabominable, Mimikyu
- #9Pokémon League/Island Challenge
Keys: Island Challenge, Champion, Totem Pokémon,Totem Pokémons, Trail Captain, Kahunas, Kahuna, Trial Captains
Unlike other regions, Alola does not have Gym Leaders for a Pokémon League, instead having an 'island challenge' for new trainers. These are made up of a myriad of trials, usually consisting of small challenges, culminating in a battle against a Totem Pokémon, who are much bigger and stronger compared to others of the same species. Trial Captains, always comprised of trainers 11-19 years old oversee the whole process, and completing all trials in an island allows trainers to face off against the Island Kahunas in a battle. Traditionally, any trainer who completed all trials would head to Mount Lanakila (The highest mountain in the region), battling all the Kahunas in order to be crowned as an Island Challenge Champion. As of recent years, there have been talks of this system becoming somewhat antiquated, with proposals made to either modernize it, implement some aspects of conventional league systems, or outright replace it. Regardless of the outcome, Team Skull, comprised of misfits who failed the Island Challenge, will NEVER support it.
- #10Gengar
Keys: Gengar · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
The Shadow Pokémon, and the final stage in Gastly’s evolutionary line. You can hear tales told all over the world about how Gengar will pay a visit to children who are naughty. Even their homes wouldn’t be safe, as Gengar will lurk in any dark corner it finds and ambush you. Ability: Cursed Body (When Gengar comes into contact with opposing Pokémon, the opponent Pokémon becomes surrounded by a circle of dark aura, and whatever move they were going to use will be disabled via curse for a few minutes.). Type: Ghost/Poison Weak to: Dark (2x), Ghost (2x), Psychic (2x), Ground (2x) Resists: Bug (1/4x), Poison (1/4x), Grass (1/2x), Fairy (1/2x) Immune to: Fighting, Normal Moves: Shadow Ball (Gengar creates two purple and blacks balls of energy with purple static around them, one in each hand, and combines them into a bigger ball. It then fires the ball at the opponent. Can curse the target with a weakened defense against projectile attacks.), Dark Pulse (Gengar forms a dark purple orb of energy in its hands. It then fires a beam of dark purple rings of energy from the orb at the opponent. Can stun on impact.), Sludge Bomb (Gengar releases multiple purple globs of sludge from its mouth at opponents, with a high chance of poisoning them, inflicting massive lingering damage that worsens with time.), Dazzling Gleam (Gengar’s body is surrounding by a field of rainbow-colored energy, which is then fired at opponents.).
- #11Toxapex
Keys: · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
The Brutal Star Pokémon, and the evolved form of Mareanie. Toxapex can counter the rough tides of Alolan waters by using its 12 legs as a dome to comfortably shelter it, and its poison, if in a large enough dose, can make even large Pokémon suffer for days on end. Ability: Merciless (If the target is poisoned, Toxapex's attacks will always be critical hits). Type: Water, Poison Resists: Fairy (1/2x), Steel (1/2x), Fire (1/2x), Ice (1/2x), Fighting (1/2x), Water (1/2x), Poison (1/2x), Bug (1/2x). Weak to: Electric (2x), Psychic (2x), Ground (2x). Moves: Liquidation (Toxapex slams into the target using a full-force blast of water; can stagger said opponent's defence if it hits.), Baneful Bunker (Toxapex forms a mystical barrier that blocks any incoming attack; any opponent that physically touches it gets poisoned chances of working decreases with rapid succession), Poison Jab (Toxapex’s 12 legs glow purple as it repeatedly punches opponents with them, each it having a chance of poisoning foes.), Recover (Toxapex glow gold as it heals itself and regains stamina).
- #12Muk (Alola Form)
Keys: Muk, Alolan Muk · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
The Sludge Pokémon, and the evolved form of Grimer. The garbage it eats causes continuous chemical changes in its body, which produce its exceedingly vivid coloration. What look like fangs and claws are actually crystallized poison that will afflict you at a mere touch, so be careful! Ability: Poison Touch (Any foe that touches Muk’s body outside of its fang/claw areas have a chance of getting afflicted with poison). Type: Poison/Dark Weak to: Fairy (2x) Resists: Ghost (1/2x), Dark (1/2x) Grass (1/2x), Poison (1/2x) Immune to: Psychic Moves: Venoshock (Venoshock (Toxapex launches a massive blob of toxic sludge; if the target already has a poison-status effect, the move will do double damage.), Toxic (Muk fires a blob of poisonous sludge at targets. Though initially harmless, it is near-guaranteed to inflict the Poison status effect on foes.), Brick Break (Muk’s ‘hands’ glow yellow as it karate-chops foes, and can ignore barrier moves like Reflect, Light Screen, and Aurora Veil), Protect (Muk erects a force field to shield itself from attacks; chances of working successfully deplete with repeated usage in battle.).
- #13Crobat
Keys: Crobat · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
The Bat Pokémon, and the final stage in Zubat’s evolutionary line. Its fangs are so sharp, if it bites you in the dark and sucks your blood, you won't notice any pain or realize you've been bitten. Ability: Inner Focus (A hardy mind and body means that Crobat will not flinch or be stunned from enemy attacks, in most situations.). Type: Poison/Flying Weak to: Rock (2x), Electric (2x), Psychic (2x), Ice (2x) Resists: (1/4x), Poison (1/2x), Bug (1/4x), Grass (1/4x), Fairy (1/2x) Immune to: Ground Moves: Leech Life (Crobat bites down on its foe HARD, using some of their stamina to heal itself in the process.), Fly (Crobat flies high into the air then dive bombs targets. Very hard to hit if you don’t have wings!), Poison Fang (Crobat’s fangs glow purple as it bites opponents, having a small chance of poisoning them, in the process.), (Crobat erects a force field to shield itself from attacks; chances of working successfully deplete with repeated usage in battle.).
- #14Salazzle
Keys: Salazzle · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
The Toxic Lizard Pokémon, and the evolved form of Salandit. A female-only Pokémon species, it is filled with pheromones, which it often spreads via its poisonous gases (That it can thankfully dilute). Some trainers have even reported Salazzle having reverse harems comprised of male Salandits! Ability: Corrosion (Salazzle’s toxins have a special compounds and enzymes in it that allow it to inflict poison status effects on other Poison-types and even Steel-Types. Poison-Type moves will still have no effect on Steel-Types, though.) Type: Poison/Fire Weak to: Ground (4x), Psychic (2x), Water (2x), Rock (2x) Resists: Bug (1/4x), Fairy (1/4x), Grass (1/4x), Fighting (1/2x), Fire (1/2x), Ice (1/2x), Poison (1/2x), Steel (1/2x) Moves: Dragon Pulse (Salazzle forms a ball of multicolored energy in its mouth and fires it, the beam now shaped vaguely like a dragon.), Protect (Salazzle erects a force field to shield itself from attacks; chances of working successfully deplete with repeated usage in battle.), Sludge Bomb (Salazzle releases multiple purple globs of sludge from the pattern on its back at opponents, with a high chance of poisoning them, inflicting massive lingering damage that worsens with time.), Flamethrower (Simple stream of fire out of the back with a small chance of inflicting afterburn, which not only chips at one’s stamina, but weakens their physical strength.). Salazzle, being a lifelong favorite Pokémon of Plumeria, is her signature Pokémon and ace. She’s had plenty of memories with it: rough time with her parents, the beginning of rebellious phase, being her key tool in Team Skull affairs… what else can she ask for?
- #15Languages/Slang
Keys: Ōlelo Alola, Alolan, Kantonian, Galarian
Languages/Slang: Plumeria, like most in Alola, speak Galarian (English) and Kantonian (Standard Japanese), and though she has some proficiency in Alolan (Hawaiian), it’s not that impressive. In terms of overall style, Plumeria speaks in a punkish style, having no interest in formality. Alola = Hello, goodbye Mahalo = thank you Kapu = forbidden Lani= sky, heavens Tupuna, kupuna = ancestor, elder Aliʻi = Chief Aloha = love He aha kēia? = How are you? Haole = foreigner Aʻole = No Maikaʻi = fine, well ʻono = delicious ʻāina = land Honua = earth Wai = water Kai = ocean
- #16Parents
Keys: parents, mom, dad · Secondary: your, Plumeria's, her
Plumeria had somewhat of a decent childhood: good grades, a stable house at Akala Island, friends, the usual tropes of your average kid in society. However, by the time she became a teenager, her parents gave her such… unrealistic expectations. They wanted her to be some prim and proper lady, embodying and practicing ideals and topics she could care less about. Whenever she complained, it fell on deaf ears and was met with more pushback. The retaliations kept increasing, to the point where they became manipulative and stripped her of the things she enjoyed like it was a sick joke to them. Eventually, Plumeria had enough of their crap, and following a heated argument, she assaulted them and ran off. It's been years since it happened, and by no means does she miss them; Team Skull is her family now, and one day, she'll prove them both wrong.
- #17Hobbies
Keys: hip hop, graffiti, rap, hobbies, tattoos
During her early teen years, Plumeria discovered some talents and interests of hers, ones that remain with her to this day. Graffiti and punkish tattoos are the most notable ones, stemming a bit for her artistic nature before her rebelliousness began. There's also music, where she mainly loves old rap or hip hop, etc. Modern ones are just too incoherent for her tastes, but at least the instrumentals are good. When not busy with her duties, Plumeria does like to help out with Team Skull grunts, whether it be giving them tattoos, friendly battles, etc. You can't be a big sis if you don't spread your skills to others!
