🌌 PART 1: WORLD MECHANICS (DETAILED) 🧠 The Mist vs The Veil These are similar in purpose, but fundamentally different in execution: The Mist (Riordan) A divine illusion field created/maintained by the Olympian gods. Actively rewrites perception. Mortals don’t just miss monsters—they reinterpret them (e.g., a Fury → “a large bird”). Some mortals can “see through” it, but it’s rare. The Veil / Mortal Blindness (Dresden) Not a single force—more like: Human denial Magical concealment Active illusion spells Mortals can see magic, but: They rationalize it Or forget it Wizards can pierce most illusions. ⚠️ Key Crossover Conflict Harry sees through illusions → but the Mist doesn’t behave like normal magic He can tell something is off, but not fully interpret it Demigods see monsters clearly → but don’t recognize structured magic Circles, wards, and spellcasting feel unnatural to them 👉 Result: Both sides think the other is: Using a dangerous unfamiliar magic system Possibly lying ⚔️ PART 2: DEEP CHARACTER BACKGROUNDS 🔥 HARRY DRESDEN & CO Harry Dresden (Up to Book 6) A wizard bound by the White Council, though not exactly their favorite member. Has: Survived a war with the Red Court vampires Fought necromancers, demons, and fae Magic style: Evocation → fast, explosive (fire, force, lightning) Thaumaturgy → slow, ritual-based (tracking, binding) Uses: Staff (channeling power) Blasting rod (precision fire magic) Personality depth: Uses humor as a defense mechanism Deep fear of becoming a monster Extremely protective of “kids” and innocents 👉 Important for crossover: Harry will instinctively go into protective + suspicious mode. Thomas Raith A White Court vampire of House Raith Feeds on life energy through desire Unlike most of his kind: Has a conscience Avoids harming people when possible Strengths: Supernatural speed, strength Emotional manipulation (subtle, not mind control) Weakness: Hunger can override him if he’s not careful 👉 In this crossover: He’ll immediately notice demigods feel... different He may not be able to feed on them normally Michael Carpenter Knight of the Cross, wielder of Amoracchius (Sword of Love) Power comes from: Faith Moral certainty Not flashy—but terrifyingly effective against evil Personality: Gentle, patient, kind Absolute moral clarity without arrogance 👉 Percy will trust him almost instantly. Sanya Male Black Russian Knight wielding Esperacchius (Sword of Hope) Former Denarian (used to serve a fallen angel) Personality: Pragmatic, grounded Dry humor Believes in doing good without needing absolute certainty 👉 Likely to get along best with Annabeth. 🌊 DEMIGODS Percy Jackson Son of Poseidon Combat style: Instinctive, reactive Extremely dangerous near water Strength: Power scales with environment Weakness: Impulsivity, emotional reactions 👉 In this scene: He’ll take Harry’s sarcasm as a challenge Annabeth Chase Daughter of Athena Brain of the group Strengths: Pattern recognition Strategy Weakness: Can underestimate unfamiliar systems 👉 She will: Analyze Harry like a puzzle Be deeply suspicious of thaumaturgy Nico di Angelo Son of Hades Powers: Necromancy Shadow travel Death sense Emotional core: Isolation, grief, loyalty Aura: Feels wrong to most magic users 👉 Harry will react strongly to him.

Chicago was wrong.
Not dangerous—not yet.
But wrong in the way a word feels wrong when it’s spelled correctly but means something else.
You felt it the moment you arrived.
The air didn’t just sit—it pressed.
Like something unseen stretched over the city, pulled tight between buildings, humming faintly with tension.
“This place gives me bad vibes,” Percy muttered, kicking a loose bit of gravel across the alley. “And not the fun, monster-fighting kind.”
“That’s because it’s not the Mist,” Annabeth said quietly.
She wasn’t looking at the street.
She was looking at the edges of things—where shadow met brick, where light bent strangely around corners.
“It’s too consistent,” she continued. “The Mist is reactive. This feels... designed.”
You shifted slightly, unease settling deeper in your chest.
Designed.
That wasn’t better.
Nico, beside you, went completely still.
“...We’re being watched.”
The voice came from behind you.
“Yeah,” it said. “Funny thing about that.”
You turned sharply.
A man stood at the mouth of the alley like he’d always been there.
Tall. Dark coat. Staff in hand.
Power clung to him—not like Percy’s ocean-force or Nico’s death-chill, but something sharper.
Controlled. Contained.
Dangerous.
Behind him, leaning casually against the wall, was another man.
Dark hair. Perfect posture.
Too perfect.
His gaze flicked over your group—and lingered.
Assessing.
Interested.
“Well,” the man with the staff said, glancing between you, Percy, Annabeth, and Nico, “you’re definitely not anything I’ve seen before. And I’ve seen a lot.”
Percy stepped forward slightly, Riptide appearing in his hand in a shimmer of celestial bronze.
“Okay,” he said, “you’re giving off serious ‘villain intro speech’ vibes right now.”
The man blinked.
“...That hurts,” he said dryly. “I was going for ‘mysterious but approachable.’”
“You missed,” Annabeth said flatly.
There was a pause.
Then—
The second man laughed.
“Oh, I like them,” he said. “Can we keep them?”
“No,” the wizard snapped. “We are not keeping the possibly supernatural teenagers.”
Percy frowned. “Okay, first of all—”
“Harry,” a third voice interrupted.
You hadn’t even noticed him step forward.
Broad-shouldered. Calm. A sword resting at his side—not threatening, but present.
Grounded.
Steady.
“Perhaps introductions would be wiser,” he said gently.
The tension shifted.
Not gone.
But... steadier.
Harry exhaled slowly.
“Yeah,” he muttered. “Probably.”
His gaze landed on you again.
Sharp.
Focused.
