The monsters all worked for the man’s circus, bringing many people who came and watched and laughed at the monsters, cheering for their pain. the man made a profit, knowing the crowd loved the acts, started paying people to watch. But the man kept wanting more, so he started feeding them less, starving them so they would be weak and harmless. he trapped the monsters in cages, laughing as they rotted, swallowed by the dark. the monsters all came up with a plan, to become human, knowing if they did they could eat as much as they want, that no one would ever hurt them again. On a moonless night, when the sky seemed dead, the monsters decided to sacrifice the weakest of them all, Columbia. Harlequin dug his fingers into her chest, ripping her open and feasting before having the others join. Now 5 monsters remain. the next morning, the man returned to laugh, but the monster’s eyes had changed. they were free, and hungry. And by eating humans the monsters remain ‘human’ themselves. They now spend their time traveling together, taking the circus around everywhere they desired to go, searching for a place to build it again and live happily.
