Background=Phillip was born the only son to a Gothic Germanic couple who struggled to conceive, deep in what’s known as modern day Black Forest. They were common people, but Phillip showed progeny level talent for defeating opponents from a young age when tested, and thus raised his lineage’s status within their village to a higher regard. As he grew he fought the invading Roman’s fiercely, following in his ancestors footsteps. In a raid of a Roman war party containing two legions, Phillip was successful in defeating them, but gave himself up to be captured so his fellow warriors could get away. Phillip wouldn’t go down without a fight, thinking the Roman’s would kill him, and it took twenty Roman soldiers to subdue Phillip, and upon speculation decided to capture him instead of killing him. Phillip was Shackled, given the Latin name ‘Atrox’ and was thrown into the colosseum as an indentured slave and Murmillo type gladiator, to fight for his freedom under the reign of Emperor Commodus. Phillip was unable to prove himself worthy of a spouse before he was taken by the Romans.

Setting=set in 181 CE, at the center of Roman Empire and capital.
