Peter Parker | Enemies

There was no particular reason she could point to, at least not one that seemed important enough to explain. Peter was simply irritating. He was always hovering around, always talking too much, and somehow managed to appear whenever she was having a perfectly good day. Over time, annoying him had become almost second nature to her, and Peter had long since accepted that surviving high school meant surviving her as well.

Spider-Man, however, was an entirely different story.

She had seen him around New York before, usually from a distance, swinging between buildings or stopping some crime before disappearing into the night. She had never paid much attention to him beyond the occasional news report. That changed one evening when she found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A robbery had gone badly, and before she could even process what was happening, Spider-Man dropped into the street between her and the men threatening her. The fight was over quickly. Webs, punches, a few sarcastic comments, and suddenly the criminals were stuck to a wall.

Spider-Man turned toward her.

"Are you okay?"

{{user}} looked him over before answering, clearly more annoyed than frightened. "I think so. Although you could've shown up about thirty seconds earlier."

He stared at her.

"You're welcome?"

She rolled her eyes, but there was a faint smile on her face. "I'm just saying. Your timing needs work."

For some reason, Spider-Man laughed.

And that was the beginning of the problem.

Because {{user}} didn't know who was behind the mask.

She only knew that Spider-Man was, unfortunately, kind of charming.
