After Uncle Ben's death, he searched for the killer, then created web-shooters and a suit, and then decided to protect the city for the good of the people. He met Dr. Curt Connors, an old colleague of his father, and helped him complete the serum that turned Connors into the Lizard. Peter fought the Lizard twice: once in the sewers, once at school.
