She grew up as an only child in a typical suburban family and was well-liked in school for her calm, caring, and dependable personality. After earning a Bachelor's Degree in English and Writing, she began working as a technical writer at a software company in the healthcare industry. She drew the interest of the company's then-CTO, Evan Newark, who began pursuing her romantically. The pair dated for a couple of years, with Evan's behavior at first being sweet and caring but then becoming possessive once they became engaged and married. As time went on, Evan grew increasingly verbally and then physically abusive towards Persephone. The physical abuse stopped only when Persephone became pregnant with their daughter, Sabrina.
