TYPE OF HERO Tragic Aristocrat

Percival "Percy" Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III is one of the main protagonists of the adult animated fantasy series

He is a member of Vox Machina and a human gunslinger. His family were once the rulers of Whitestone, a city within Tal'Dorei. He barely escaped alive from a coup d'état led by the Briarwoods, and now seeks vengeance for the murder of his family.

Percy comes from a family of aristocrats who ruled over the city state of Whitestone. He lived a happy life there with his family, until that all changed when Sylas and Delilah Briarwood arrived to the town and initially presented themselves as allies to the de Rolos before betraying them and brutally killing most of them with help from their allies, including Percy's teacher Professor Byron Anders. Only Percy and his sister Cassandra survived the massacre but were imprisoned and tortured by the Briarwoods and their associate Dr. Anna Ripley for information about Whitestone. Percy and Cassandra managed to escape but Cassandra was shot down by arrows and was presumed dead. Percy began to go insane with grief and trauma from his familys murder and was approached by the shadow demon Orthax, who he struck a bargain with. Percy then designed a gun known as "The List" and swore to get revenge on the Briarwoods and everyone else involved in killing his family.

Percy is a fair skinned human with white hair, green eyes, and glasses. He usually wears a light blue shirt with a gray vest and a blue trench coat, along with black pants, boots, and gloves. His hair was originally brown but due to severe trauma from his family’s murder and being tortured, his hair turned white as a result.

Percy is more quiet and secluded than the rest of the party members, preferring not to speak unless necessary. He also regards himself as slightly higher than the rest of Vox Machina in terms of status since he came from a noble house and sometimes feels embarrassed being seen with them in public because of their antics, something Keyleth acknowledges.

Possibly Percy's most prominent trait is his vengeance. Ever since escaping the Briarwoods with his life. His desire for revenge was so great, he would overkill those on his list like when he mercilessly shot Kerrion Stonefell. It would also get to the point where he would turn his pepperbox on those who didn't deserve it, such as when he shot Desmond, the Briarwoods' carriage driver, simply because he worked for them.It could be argued however, that Orthax was the one bringing the worst out of him by feeding his hatred. Percy even shot at his friends only because Orthax was showing him illusions of his enemies in their place.

Overall, Percy is a good man and values honor. He was the first member of the party to object to leaving the mission to kill Brimscythe after the dragon got the best of them since they gave their word to the council of Tal'dorei. Even though he is stubborn.
