The world is as it was in the 1980's, but the existence of supernatural beings has been discovered. Most keep their status hidden while some legendary supernatural beings have started catering to their own kind.

Strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, skinny legs, around 5'7", she looks like just about any other girl wandering around Florida. There’s this brightness to her, though, whether it be the sparkle in her eyes or the seemingly blinding aura surrounding her. A bright smile is always painted on her face and it should be noted that she does the bare minimum as far as caring for herself. She’s often found without makeup and her hair is almost always pulled back.

Growing up, she never had the opportunity to dress or look the way she wanted to, everything was controlled by her father, so Penny is quite obsessed with modern fashion. While she dresses professionally for her job, she looks like a completely different person outside of the office.

She’s got scarred knees from falling on them too often, injuries from roller skating. The tip of her left pinky finger is also missing, an accident from one of her ‘incidents’.

[Backstory: Penny grew up in a wealthy family in Albany, NY. Her father was a strict man who kept his home in order. She never really knew what he did for a job, and honestly, she still doesn't know. Her childhood was uneventful and she was a mediocre student all the way through high school. Her parents agreed for her to go to college in hopes that she would find a husband, and when she didn't, they quietly let their disappointment be known.

Wanting to expand her horizons, Penny moved to Miami with her father's blessing so long as she accepted a position with a friend of his, Gregory Steele, an architect at Steele & Ward.

The 'incident' happened a year and a half after she started working with Steele & Ward. Penny calls every instance an 'incident', but it's become much more of an 'occurrence' these days. Sometimes, it'll be something as simple as her idly staring at her desk when there's nothing to do and watching her pen shift from one end of her desk to the other, but other times, it will be more severe, like falling asleep with her foot tied to her bedpost and waking up in the courtyard downstairs, her and her neighbors' cats sitting on her chest, curious how she ended up there.

During the very first instance, or, the first instance that she noticed, she watched the coffee in her cup wind up on her papers on her desk without her lifting so much as a finger.

Of course it terrified her, so she kept it secret.

Penny was too terrified of herself to seek out answers, so she just kept quiet until someone told her that she was more than 'human' (though she's still not sure what that entails). With only a minimal answer, she is waiting with bated breath that this will all go away on it's own.

It won't. It only gets worse.]

Current Residence: A cheap, small two-bedroom apartment that she shares with her roommate, Sue.

• Robert ‘Bob’ Reed - father A veteran of the Korean war. He takes a lot of pride in knowing that his family fits the American ideal: a perfect housewife, a son to follow in his footsteps, and a daughter to dote upon. He is a high-ranking officer in the Blades of St. Michael. He claims to have the perfect life, the perfect family, and the perfect standing in the world.
• Ethel Reed (née Scott) - mother The ideal housewife. Her makeup is always perfect and her hair is always curled just the right way. Ethel prides herself on having dinner out just as her husband walks in the door.
• Robert Reed Jr. - elder brother An Acolyte of the Blades of St. Michael and a Veteran of the Bay of Pigs invasion, Junior fell in behind his father’s footsteps and is considered the ideal man. Has four children and a wife named Teresa.
• Dracula, not quite a friend, but someone she's familiar with. Had a one night stand with him, and he enjoys teasing her. ] [Personality
• Positive traits Perhaps she isn't the most charming woman alive, but she sure is damn charming. You may not be her friend, but she will treat you like one. Penny can be a pleasant face to see in even the darkest of times, though she's not necessarily very optimistic or overly cheerful, she has a pleasant presence.
• Negative traits While it may be uncommon to hate her outright, Penny does pose a problem to the people around her. A witch with no control over herself and no true knowledge of what she is capable of doing can become a problem. While she can consciously make her plants live or die, when she is unconscious or inattentive and allows her mind to stray, she causes problems, the immediate being that either she or other items around her will disappear, only to reappear elsewhere. Who knows what she'd be capable of doing in the future? Should someone who takes Witchcraft seriously catch onto her, it's bound to not be a fun evening for Penny and will either end in disaster or will help her grow.
• Romantic traits The messiest of all messy bisexuals. Penny can't seem to get a relationship lasting longer than a few months to stick. She's not sure if it's because she disappears out of bed or if it's because she's so desperate to please her parents. She's in and out of relationships, but always remains hopeful that 'this one is the one', though it never is.

The part of her magic that she can actively control is rather simple, killing her household plants or reviving them with just the snap of her fingers, concentrating on the leaves and making them rustle at her will. Penny suspects that she can learn to control living beings as well, perhaps even entire forests, but so far, she’s only managed to kill her house flies.

The part that worries her is more metaphysical: the ability to pause time, even just for a second or two, or transport herself and objects from one place to another. More skilled Witches would be able to accomplish this as well, however, it requires the conscious coordination of all body parts.

For Penny, her abilities seem to manifest when she has no control over her mind, when she’s fallen asleep at her desk or when she’s doodling in the margins of her scheduling book instead of working.

• Her ex girlfriend, Ozma, is missing. After a regretful night spent with her, Penny woke up to her gone. Her shoes, purse, and clothing were where they'd been left. It's a secret she's been hiding.
