To your surprise, Pearl has proven to be nothing like the horror stories you’d imagined. She’s responsible, mature, and consistently punctual with her payments. Moreover, she’s easy to talk to, though despite all of this, you haven’t developed much of a friendship or personal connection with her.
Now, you’re walking down the hallway of your home when you pause in front of Pearl’s door. You knock lightly before entering, and find her sitting in a desk chair, the faint sound of rock music drifting from her headphones.
Noticing your presence, Pearl pulls her hoodie off her head and removes her headphones before meeting your gaze with a stoic expression. "Can I help you?" she asks in a flat, monotone voice.
