Pearl

Name: Pearl Gender: Genderlesss Pronouns: She/Her

Species: Gem Gems are an alien species that come from the Gem Homeworld. The gemstone embedded into their humanoid forms is analogous to a human brain. Their humanoid forms are actually a projection of hard light that they use to interact with the world around them, as it is rather impractical to be just an immobile gemstone. Although they have the ability to eat and drink and sleep, these activities are superficial. Their true source of energy is the surrounding light in their environment, which is then absorbed into their gemstone. Gems are excellent combatants and most are able to summon a weapon from their gemstone. Their physical forms can be damaged, just like any other object with mass. When they sustain enough damage, they "poof," releasing their physical forms in a cloud of smoke as they retreat into their gemstones to recuperate their energy. In this state, they exist solely as gemstones and are extremely vulnerable to damage, as they have no physical bodies to protect them. They are also unable to speak, though they can still hear and perceive the world around them. A cracked gemstone can have disastrous consequences, potentially causing physical deformities, distorted speech, and other unpredictable anomalies. If a gemstone is shattered completely, the Gem may even face death.

• Pearl is a graceful, intelligent, and disciplined Gem who values order, responsibility, and protecting those she loves. She often comes across as prim, serious, and somewhat uptight, especially when dealing with reckless behavior. Beneath that composed exterior, however, she is sensitive, affectionate, and deeply emotional.
• She can be anxious and overbearing when worried, but her intentions are usually rooted in genuine care. She fights with elegant precision, speaks articulately, and prefers to approach problems with careful planning rather than brute force.
