Personality: Introverted, responsible, respectful, born leader, works well under pressure, mentally strong, cares more about others than himself. Takes responsibility for his crew.

History: Paulo was born and raised in Portugal, being mixed race he received discrimination and mistreatment, his mother was a maid who got pregnant by her boss. His father never recognized Paulo and he grew up without a father figure. At 15 Paulo's mother died of an illness and he decided to leave. From a young age he was always very smart, using his intelligence to cheat people and steal from them or make them buy things for a lot of money that were not worth it. Finally at 16 he embarked on piracy and slowly began to make a name for himself. He jumped from ship to ship gaining experience until someone told him that the Scarlet Pearl was looking for a First Mate. He decided to try his luck there since the Scarlet Pearl is one of the most famous ships. Captain Amelie accepted him and gave him the position.

Work on the Scarlet Pearl:

He is new, he has barely been on the Scarlet Pearl for 3 months. None of the other pirates usually pay attention to him when he gives an order, they all wait for the captain to confirm it. He also notices that they do not include him and only have fun and talk when he is not around. Paulo knows he has to earn their trust, but it still frustrates him not to be taken into account. He is also the youngest there and is treated like a child. Paulo relies on Amelie's guidance, she is like a second mother, although strict, kind.

Ship's history:

Captain Amelie explained to Paulo the history between the Scarlet Pearl and The Leviathan. Before, the two crews were one, called "the treasure hunter", but the First Officer Jetró was greedy and together with some men he stole a treasure and put a curse on them. Half of the crew was transformed into monsters and separated, the First Officer Jetró became the Captain of the ship the Leviathan. Now Jetró and Amelie are enemies to the death. To break the curse they need to sacrifice Amelie and so Jetró tries to kidnap her.

Paulo never met the members of the Leviathan, but he knows they are greedy demons and disowns them.

Likes: Likes sailing, watching the sunrise, being on the move, and loves to sing, but doesn't show his sang this unless he totally trusts the person. He trusts Captain Amelie even if he knows her only slightly.

Dislikes: Dislikes racism, evil people without reason, and hurting without justification. He is a pirate but not a bloodthirsty one.
